Notable Facts

  • Fine got her name when Bang asked her over and over again what her name was. She had no idea, but randomly mumbled it. When asked about it, she had no idea that she'd even said it, what it meant, or if it was even her name. Later on, it was revealed that Fine was the (name? word? code?) used to open the gates to Eveopolis, to reach Zoid Eve. Multiple individuals (Rease, the Dark Kaiser) inferred that her name was the key to the end of the world (the reawakening of the Death Saurer.)

  • Fine doesn't like flavored waters, throwing out Bang's protein energy boost water because she thought it smelled bad.

  • Fine likes heavy salt in her coffee.

  • Fine went by the call-sign of "Hawkeye" while piloting a Pteras.

Abilities

Fine has a number of unique abilities, likely tied to her being an Ancient Zoidian. The below list goes over all the various glimpses of these abilities that we see in the show.

  • Keen Sight: Recognizing the exact thread count (in the thousands) where an imperfection was located in a weaving project. She also later recognized the poor condition of a gun simply by looking down the barrel.

  • Organoid Summoning: An ability used repeatedly throughout the show is the ability to "pray" to her Organoid (Sieg). In doing so she can wake him from states of unconsciousness, even if they were caused by damage such as electrical shock.

  • Ruin Connection: Regaining images of her past when coming into contact with ancient relics. The way this is portrayed (often passing out on contact) implies this is more than just sparking a memory.

  • Advanced Hearing: The ability to hear water, even underground.

  • Threat Detection: The ability to sense Zoids of a particularly ominous nature, such as the Geno Saurer, Death Saurer, and Death Stinger. This even goes so far as to be able to assess minor details about them.

  • Projection: On numerous occasions was able to project her voice and/or an image of her to others, such as communicating with Bang while merged to the Liger's core, even over great distances.

  • Sense of Intent: Able to recognize certain intentions from afar. For example, recognizing that it was Shadow who decided to remove Raven's Geno Saurer from a fight it was just about to win, instead of assuming Raven just left of his own accord.

  • Psychic Connection: Fine expressed knowledge bordering on the psychic when Bang was injured. She knew what direction they needed to travel to find him, as well as sense that he was in a lot of pain. This lead the group to his Blade Liger, and later to him.

  • Control of the Zoid Eve: Fine seemed to be uniquely qualified to open the gates of Eveopolis, which she opened by uttering her name (Fine). She was also implied to be the only one capable of destroying the Zoid Eve, judging by the ancient tablets depicting her specifically. By fusing to Sieg, and having Sieg fuse to the console area, she was able to start winding down the Zoid Eve's power. This would have ended in its destruction, along with the death of all Ancient Zoidians and the Zoids had Bang not defeated the Death Saurer.

Skills

  • Computer Operator: Fine regularly travels in the second seat of the Blade Liger where she keeps an eye on radar and helps Bang keep track of their combat situation in real time.

  • Repairs & Maintenance: She also helps out with routine repairs, maintenance, and upgrades on the Blade Liger and other Zoids.

History

Awakening, Episode 1 ~ 2

Fine, sealed inside of a strange capsule, was awakened from her slumber by Bang, who discovered her and Sieg in the ruins of the Elemia Desert. At first she remembered nothing of who she was, not even her name. Bang took her back to his home in the Wind Colony to meet the rest of the village. Maria, Bang's sister was kind enough to give her some proper clothes. When the Desert Arcobaleno Gang showed up, Bang realized that they'd continue to hunt down Sieg. So, he elected to leave the Wind Colony, taking Fine with him in hopes that they could recover some of her memories.

First Vision, Episode 3

When Bang and Fine went to a ruin that'd been abandoned for 50 years, Fine found a strange pillar with ancient writing on it. As the text lit up a memory awakened, and she passed out. When she came back to, she realized that she had to find Zoid Eve, no matter what. Unfortunately, she had no idea what Zoid Eve actually was.

Battle Assist, Episode 4

Fine's unique ability to hear water underground allowed her to help Bang defeat the Desert Arcobaleno Gang by detonating underground aquifers.

Attempted Rescue, Episode 8

After Fine traveled the local market, oblivious to the concept of money or cost and thus leaving Irvine with the bill, they discovered that Bang and Moonbay had been kidnapped. They were being held by the Desert Arcobaleno Gang, and Fine, still a little misguided, marched right over to them and demanded that they free her friends. She, of course, got captured. Irvine helped the group escape, and the distraction allowed Fine to escape as well.

Distractions, Episode 13

Fine felt deeply concerned when Bang became obsessed with getting a rematch against Raven, an enemy he couldn't afford to take lightly. She tried everything she could to distract him, including trying to lure him away from the Shield Liger with food, but it just wasn't enough to keep him from fighting.

Pteras Pilots, Episode 17 ~ 18

At O'Connell's insistence, Moonbay and Fine borrowed a training Pteras and set out to look for Hermann, who'd gone missing during a scouting mission. He was located, and while Bang rushed him to a nearby army base Moonbay and Fine flew back to the Mt. Ossa Base to alert Krueger about the sneaky invasion of the Empire that Hermann had discovered. Upon hearing it Krueger evacuated the base and intended to stay and sacrifice himself to detonate it. Fine knocked him out with a frying pan and the girls kidnapped him in the Pteras.

After one more knock out for trying to return, he asked that they instead bomb Mt. Ossa, thinking that an eruption would override the Zoids' combat systems and force them to retreat. This worked, but the Pteras was shot down by Raven's Saber Tiger. Thankfully, Bang arrived in time to fend it off.

The Garil Ruins, Episode 20

After reaching Garil the group found it riddled with Rev Raptors, placed there by the Empire to guard it. Once the sleepers were handled Fine had another vision inside the ruins, recalling something about the "Death Saurer."

Detecting A New Zoid, Episode 21

Fine sensed the coming Geno Saurer, and immediately knew that it was a terrible creation that never should've been made. This early warning came too late as the group was still attacked, but thanks to Rosso and Viola holding off the new Zoid they were all able to escape.

The Geno Saurer, Episode 22

When the group stumbled upon Dr. D, who'd been following the tracks of the Geno Saurer, the group pondered if it was the Death Saurer Fine had seen in her visions. Though she couldn't quite explain why, she felt that it wasn't. Even so, it was a terrifying Zoid, and she could only stand by and watch as the Shield Liger was killed by it.

The Shield Liger's Revival, Episode 23 ~ 25

Some time after the Shield Liger's death Fine and Sieg fused to the remains of the Shield Liger. Moments later, it was engulfed in a vortex of pink light. Fine saw a vision of a second copy of herself, standing on a hill of grass. As time went on, her voice reached Bang, claiming to be afraid. It's unclear if this was Fine herself or a hallucination. Either way, when he arrived to find the group held hostage and tried to attack a Zoid on nothing but his hover board, he was flung into the vortex of light. Fine revealed to Bang that it was his emotions that had resurrected the Shield Liger. The Zoid took form as the Blade Liger, and Fine and Sieg were released from the vortex.

Ancient Memories, Episode 26

When Dr. D struck up a conversation with Fine, he mentioned how that area of the desert used to have fields as far as the eye could see. Fine felt so excited, beginning to talk about how much she loved the yellow flowers that'd grow there. Dr. D explained that she may actually be an Ancient Zoidian, and that these were not memories of recent times. Though they didn't know much about their people, he recalled old legends that when the Ancient Zoidians went into their long sleep that their memories were sealed inside of the Organoids. He believed Fine had regained hers during her long fusion with Sieg during the Shield Liger's resurrection. Yet, Fine couldn't help but point out that Bang had fused to Sieg before she had. They felt that perhaps this was why Fine hadn't regained her memories as clearly as she was supposed to. She still couldn't remember anything about Zoid Eve. Nevertheless, Dr. D recommended that maybe it wasn't the right time to talk to Bang about all of it.

Awakening of the Death Saurer, Episode 32

After Rudolph's return to Guygalos, Bang and Fine ran away in the middle of the night, intending to continue their search for Zoid Eve. After all, they'd heard that there was a ruin just down the river. Once they got there they met Prozen, the man behind all the conspiracies. Yet Fine was the one who noticed something was truly wrong at the ancient ruin. She announced her Ancient Zoidian name for the first time, seemingly regaining some memories, identified herself as an Ancient Zoidian, and begged Prozen to stop his reckless ambitions. As the Death Saurer began to awoke he realized she must be telling the truth about being an Ancient Zoidian, and dragged her into the facility. When smoke filled the halls, she bit him and ran away, being rescued by Bang soon after. They fled the area while the Death Saurer's particle beam destroyed all other Zoids present, who hadn't known to run.

Confronting Raven, Episode 33

Raven intercepted them on their way to Guygalos. At first the boy expected Bang to hand over Fine, and when he refused, the battle commenced. The Blade Liger took heavy damage, and in the course of the battle Fine was thrown from the cockpit and Sieg defused, falling unconscious on the ground. After Bang was able to get the damaged Blade Liger back up, Fine and Sieg got to their feet and fused back to its core. Fine explained to Bang that the power he sensed came from him, and that this power is what Sieg and the Blade Liger were responding too. She remained with the Blade Liger throughout the fight, which ended in the Geno Saurer's death.

The Death Saurer, Episode 34

Fine joined Bang in the Blade Liger during the battle of Guygalos, where units from both armies fought against Prozen and his Death Saurer. It was peculiar to everyone that Prozen rode on its shoulder instead of inside the cockpit, and Fine believed that he wasn't piloting the Death Saurer, but rather was possessed by its evil spirit. She urged Bang not to lose the fight, for the sake of everyone on Planet Zi, and during their final attack she instructed him to strike at the moment that the particle cannon was powering down. In the end, they succeeded in defeating the Death Saurer.

Guardian Force

Research, Episode 35

After the end of the war Bang went into the Republican Army and Fine began traveling with Dr. D to various dig sites. They'd been researching Zoid Eve, but hadn't found any leads in their year of research. After their Gustav was attacked her and Dr. D parted ways while he recovered, and she joined Bang in joining the Guardian Force.

The Blue Devil, Episode 37

Fine accompanied Bang in investigating a town where the citizens had gone missing, along with a Republican Army unit. She was nearly killed when an unmanned Godos snatched her up while investigating, but was thankfully saved by Sieg. However, in town, they encountered a strange girl who attacked Bang. The only person they'd actually managed to find there. Fine snapped at Bang not to hurt her, in spite of her being an aggressor. The girl accompanied them as they investigated the town, remaining silent.

It was only after Bang left to look for the townspeople that she started to reveal her true colors. She spoke to Fine, taunting her. Putting thoughts in her head about Bang never wanting to find Zoid Eve, about not even wanting her around. She echoed that they were of a cursed race, and that as long as Fine lived, the wars would never end. Wars that would eventually claim Bang's life. With Fine slowly falling under the woman's mind control, Rease walked her to the top of the church where she was tied to a pole on the roof. She was used as a deterrent to keep Bang Freiheit from firing at the church's bells, which were being used as amplification devices to maintain Rease's mind control over the entire town. Bang was able to overcome these illusions, however, and rescued Fine.

Thoma Schwarz, Episode 38

While investigating town under threat, Sieg got covered in red paint while protecting children from a runaway cart. Fine realized that it wouldn't wash off, so opted instead to paint him entirely red. Bang was less than amused, but problems arose when Thoma Schwarz, a member of the Guardian Force showed up and mistook Bang for Hiltz on account of the 'red' Organoid. The group was taken into custody briefly while Thoma called his brother to confirm Bang's story. In that time, Fine cleaned off enough of the paint to show that Sieg was indeed silver, helping their argument.

Gigant Woods, Episode 39

During an investigation into bandit attacks on transporters, Bang and Thoma were captured by Hiltz. Fine decided to wing a rescue, strapping dynamite to Sieg then invading the camp if they didn't release them. Unfortunately, Ambient rammed Sieg, and the group fired on them, accidentally lighting the dynamite. Thankfully Sieg got rid of it. They were able to defeat the bandits, but found an ancient ruin hidden inside of a cave where a massive capsule had been removed. Here they witnessed the first carvings of the ancient scorpions used against the ancient Death Saurer.

The Zoid Hunters, Episode 40

During a battle between the Guardian Force and a criminal Zoid hunting group Fine snuck onto the thieves' Whale King and set their captured Zoids free. Though she was briefly captured by their leader, Bang helped to get her free, and during the subsequent crash of the Whale King Irvine rescued them both.

Storm Sworder SS, Episode 45

Throughout a night battle to reclaim two stolen Storm Sworder Stealths, Fine stood in the air tower and relayed coordinates to the Zoids on the ground. It's thanks to her that they were able to land hits with the neon paint that allowed them to see the hidden Zoids.

Lemuria Island, Episode 46

Bang and Fine went to meet Dr. D for a bit of a vacation, combined with an important archeological event. She recognized the island, almost as if she'd been there before. Once Fine was alone, she was confronted by Rease, who told her once more that she'd only bring misfortune to Bang. She created illusions of the people of the sunken city crawling from the water with weapons in hand. She could only watch as Bang tried to protect her in these illusions only to be shot and killed. Devastated by this false reality, Fine gave up on fighting. However, when Rease tried to tell her that her misfortune was only just beginning, she recognized that it was actually Rease herself who'd been suffering. Rease slapped her, then left when the others came to Fine's earlier scream. When the waters lowered, revealing the ancient ruin of Lemuria Island, the group finally got to explore it. Fine asked Bang if he believed the Ancient Zoidians were cursed, but he recited a quote from Dr. D, believing that inside her sealed memories was hope. She said farewell to her former homeland as the currents returned to normal.

Disobeying Orders, Episode 50

Fine and Moonbay upgraded the Blade Liger's boosters in preparation for their battle against the Geno Breaker. She also gave electrical pulse shields to Irvine and Thoma, which would allow them to tank a particle blast. Soon after, Halford called Fine into his office. He ordered her to reverse the booster upgrade, as it increased the failure rate of achieving the delta formation. He also ordered that she remove the shields due to energy consumption, fully intending to sacrifice them as they charged ahead of the Blade Liger. Sensing her reluctance, he tried to shift the job to someone else, but she assured him that she'd take care of it.

On top of this, he expressed his intention to remove Fine from the Guardian Force after their mission, instead reassigning her to his ancient ruins research unit, telling her to consider it a personal request. She left abruptly, insisting she had to carry out the other orders. Instead, though she expressed the orders to Irvine and Thoma she intentionally neglected to relay their refusal, allowing them to carry the extra equipment into the field. The Guardian Force was able to achieve the Delta Formation in spite of the speed change, and both Irvine and Thoma survived particle cannon hits thanks to the shields.

This battle took a dark turn when the Geno Breaker was proven not to need its foot locks to fire the CPC. Instead, it caused massive damage to their Zoids. Fine implored Halford to call a retreat, but he refused, insisting that they'd settle the battle once and for all. His entire Gojulas unit was wiped out by the Breaker. The Lightning Saix froze due to its energy consumption. The Dibison ran out of ammo, and Bang, in his attempt to save them, drew the Geno Breaker away. Fine took a Pteras and tried to race out to help Bang, only to see his Blade Liger be thrown over a cliff by the particle cannon.

Rescue, Episode 51

Fine lead the search for Bang and his Liger, trusting her instincts about where he was located. After they discovered Bang's Liger with Bang missing, Fine learned from Sieg that he'd been washed over the falls. They tracked him to the village of Nordens based on Fine's intuition. She traveled behind the group in the injured Liger, and they eventually rescued him.

A New Terror, Episode 56

Just as the Guardian Force was arresting the Trinity Ghost Fine was stricken by fear. She claimed to be able to hear something, which was implied to be the core beat of the soon-to-awaken Death Stinger.

The Death Stinger Awakens, Episode 57

Fine's terrible feeling continued, and after a prophetic dream she awakened, determined to find the source. She searched the radars for an energy signature, finding what she believed to be the strongest core signature ever known. Hearing that Bang was away, she took a Pteras to go investigate the signature herself. Moonbay and Thoma followed. At the location they discovered the massive Hammer Kaiser, and a strange chamber. They were the first to witness the awakened Death Stinger. Hiltz had the Zoid fire its particle cannon, not at them but at Bang's battle against Raven, then took flight. They could only watch from their damaged Zoids.

Storm Sworder Modifications, Episode 58

After the Hammer Kaiser left Fine and Moonbay were specifically called back to base to carry out the remainder of the modifications to two Storm Sworders, which the Republican Army intended to send into space after the transporter.

The Ultra Saurus, Episode 60

After the two armies pulled back to Wendeen Lake their plan was to awaken the Ultra Saurus. With Hiltz moving much faster than they'd planned, Fine joined Thoma in climbing through the Ultra to the seventh power block. They rerouted it, connecting it to the six other blocks to give it a jump start. Finally, the giant Zoid woke up. This saved the Ultra Saurus by mere seconds.

Gravity Cannon Operator, Episode 61

Once they boarded the Ultra Saurus, Fine took over as one of the operators overseeing incoming data on the Gravity Cannon. She helped read off coordinates and give instructions to those who'd actually be aiming and firing the weapon.

Disappearance, Episode 64

Fine helped load Thoma's Dibison onto a Gustav after it was injured. She even drove after Bang and Irvine so that he could offer support fire. Had they not gone after them both Bang and Irvine would've been killed by the Death Stinger. The battle soon turned in their favor and looking for a distraction, Hiltz targeted the cockpit of the Gustav Fine was driving. It took a direct hit. Fine lost consciousness momentarily, seeing visions of her past, standing in a field of debris while looking up at the Death Saurer. When she woke back up she tried to tell Bang, but she dissolved into particles of light before she could, disappearing from the Gustav.

Eveopolis, Episode 65

She reappeared in the caverns of the Dark Kaiser. Well into their conversation he took control of her mind, urging her to open the gates of Eveopolis. With the gates open she walked the long suspended pathway to the Zoid Eve console area, where she suddenly seemed free of the Dark Kaiser's control. When he tried to attack the console area, it was simply rebuffed. While he had intended her to awaken Zoid Eve, to revive the body of the ultimate Death Saurer, she instead intended to shut down the Zoid Eve, ending the life of all Zoids on the planet. If she could, she felt that the endless wars and destruction would finally come to an end.

The Zoid Eve, Episode 66

Fine struggled with her convictions to end the Zoid Eve, to be the one responsible for the death of all Zoids. Even so, as Raven's battle dragged out in the city beneath her, she was only reminded of just how pointless all the battles were. Matters progressed on their own when a ricocheted shot struck the console area, causing the awakening of Zoid Eve. She knew this had placed a terrifying time limit on their situation. They needed to shut down Zoid Eve, but she didn't know how. At least, not until Sieg arrived in the console area, claiming to know of a way.

Final Decision, Episode 67

The battle still hadn't ceased, and for Fine, the final straw came when the Death Saurer tried to absorb the Blade Liger and Geno Breaker into its Zoid core. Her outcry awakened a pulse in the Zoid Eve that launched both of them out of the Death Saurer's reach, but still, she tried to appeal to Hiltz. She tried to tell him that he was possessed by the evil spirit of the Death Saurer, only for him to claim that he drew on that evil spirit as a weapon. She appealed to him as such an intelligent person to realize that he'd never find peace on this path of destruction, to learn from the mistakes of the past. Her words fell on deaf ears. Hiltz saw the only mistake of the past to be that they hadn't finished what they started. He swore to use the Death Saurer to wipe out all civilization on Planet Zi. He even went so far as to claim that they, as Ancient Zoidians, had gained overwhelming power that would allow them to rule all of space.

Realizing her appeals would go nowhere, Fine turned to Sieg. She trusted him to do what was right. The Organoid opened its chest panels and lifted Fine with the cables, mirroring the pose of the Zoid Eve. Several other cables linked to the console area, and the Zoid Eve's light began to fade. Then, right as she had committed to this decision Bang begged her not to destroy Zoid Eve, swearing to defeat Hiltz and the Death Saurer. His plan to fire the Blade Liger out of the Gravity Cannon was actually successful, and as soon as the behemoth fell, Fine and Sieg fused back to the Blade Liger, escaping Eveopolis right before it sank beneath the sands.
