Items

 Gun

Irvine carries a basic pistol for moments of uncertainty. He's able to draw it quite quickly.

 Electric Whip

Irvine has an electric whip similar to Verde's, with what appears to be a large battery pack on the back.

 Grappling Gun

A gun that fires a projectile attached to a rope.

 Eye Patch

Irvine wears an eye patch, but not because he's missing an eye. His eyes are fine. Instead this patch serves as a discrete spy device, with different lenses that perform a variety of functions, such as zooming in, recording, and projecting holograms. He also stores a detonator switch behind it.

 Large Gun

This weapon is seen discharging shells from the side when fired, but the shots behave like explosive cartridges, dealing so much damage that it can even collapse sizable chunks from buildings.

 Explosive Putty

What appears to be explosive putty is stored as a cube in the heel of Irvine's boot. The interior part of the heel slides forward, and the putty can be affixed to objects he intends to detonate.

 Detonator Switch

Irvine keeps a detonator switch behind his eye. He can attach it to the explosive putty, then back a few feet away. When he squishes the trigger, it sends voltage through the wire and detonates the putty on the other end, useful for getting out of jail cells and stuff.

 Electric Collar

An electric collar able to deliver a shock to the target. He used it during one of his earlier capture attempts on Sieg.

 Smoke Grenades

Smoke grenades set to a timer-release, so that they won't detonate on impact.

History

First Appearance, Episode ~3

When he first met Bang and Fine, Irvine was searching the ruins of the world for an Organoid. At first he was surprised to hear that Bang had a Shield Liger somewhere in the area, where they'd been separated by a sand storm. When the kid further explained that it was resurrected by Sieg, Irvine knew he'd found what he was looking for. He took Fine hostage, demanding that Bang hand over Sieg if he wanted her back. Sieg rescued Fine so that they could both escape. They only escaped with their Organoid because his battle against Bang's Shield Liger was interrupted by a white Gordos who felt indebted to Bang for repairs.

Protector, Episode 4 ~ 5

Bang and Irvine would meet once again when they were hired to protect the same village, which was struggling with ex-Empire bandits. In the battle, Irvine drew Viola's Redler away from the fight, giving Bang a better chance of victory. Irvine would run into them again when they both came to assist Moonbay, a transporter Irvine was already familiar with. When the group gathered together to rest in a ruin overnight, he tried to steal Sieg, only to be interrupted by an attack from local sleeper Zoids. They had no choice but to flee, Irvine and Bang both trying to protect Moonbay for as long as possible. They only escaped when she abandoned her cargo.

Arrest, Episode 6

Irvine was arrested by the Republican Army for "borrowing" ammunition. Though he escaped, Bang wanted to go back for Fine and Moonbay. He was able to help him take down the Pteras unit while doing so.

Canyon Crossing, Episode 7

When Bang needed to clear the canyon at Red River, Irvine offered to help him across. He failed to mention that his help came in the form of explosives, severing the piece of cliff that the Shield Liger was standing on. As it fell, it served as a springboard for the Shield Liger to jump a canyon it otherwise wouldn't have made it across.

Theft Attempt, Episode 8

Irvine snapped an electric collar around Sieg, and even shocked him to show that he was serious. He wanted Sieg to come with him, but was busted by Bang before he could get away. The group continued traveling together in spite of this.

Rescue Effort, Episode 9

After encountering a Rare Hertz, Sieg went out of control and attacked his friends. As soon as the Command Wolf could be repaired Irvine went after him and Bang. He found them on the edge of a cliff, and just as Sieg slipped over the edge, Irvine ran to his Command Wolf to lower a towing cable down to them. It was too late. They both went over the edge, but thankfully Sieg came to in time to save them both.

Surveillance, Episode 12 ~ 13

After saving Bang from Raven's Saber Tiger, Irvine watched as the young boy became obsessed with getting a rematch and proving his worth as a Zoid pilot. Knowing he wasn't going to let this go, he told Bang where to find Raven, then left himself. He headed for Kronos Fortress, where he scoped out the current situation only to find the base almost entirely distracted. He realized that some sort of plan was already well underway, but because Moonbay held him responsible for Bang's upcoming battle he went to support the boy. His Command Wolf jumped into the fray to stop Raven's Saber Tiger, but took severe damage as a result. Thankfully, Raven left the field instead of finishing them off.

Rematch, Episode 14, Command Wolf SM

After the earlier defeat Irvine set out to find Raven. He was urged by Dr. D to pick up some test equipment from the Republic, and received the Command Wolf SM upgrade. It didn't disappoint in the fight, impaling Raven's Saber Tiger and seemingly handing Irvine the victory. At the last second, the Saber Tiger ripped its own leg off and still charged down the Command Wolf. Irvine was able to escape thanks to the flash flares.

Talk With Krueger, Episode 15

Irvine broke into a Republican Army base looking for heavier weaponry. When he was busted, he spoke with Col. Krueger, who asked about his motives behind piloting Zoids, a conversation that was quite inspiring to Irvine. When Krueger was then injured by falling debris, Irvine asked to pilot the Gojulas, but Hermann shrugged it off as a ridiculous notion.

Warning Messenger, Episode 17

During a search mission for Rob Hermann, when jamming snow was preventing communication and allowing Zoids to become easily lost, Irvine equipped a light beacon to his Command Wolf. This helped Moonbay stay oriented in a Pteras while performing the search. Once Hermann was located, and they learned that the Empire planned to attack not by land but by sea, Irvine rushed to the front lines. He got out of his Command Wolf during an active battle and climbed the Gojulas to inform Ford that he had to get back to New Helic as fast as possible.

Surrounded By The Empire, Episode 22

After Rudolph was kidnapped by Shadow a search party from the Guylos Empire showed up looking for him. Irvine knew that they had to get him back, so he and Moonbay held them off while Bang went to rescue Rudolph.

Rescuing Rudolph, Episode 23

When Metternich called offering to exchange Rudolph for the ring, Irvine was as confused as everyone else, until Bang revealed that he'd had it the whole time. They arranged to meet but Irvine knew they'd be shady, so they used flash flares to give Bang a chance to zoom by on a hover board and snatch Rudolph. Irvine provided cover fire, and even as they fled through the mines made the most of his many tools to try and keep them a step ahead of Metternich and his men. By the end of the chase, he'd caught up in his Command Wolf and shot down both Dark Horns.

Medicine Run, Episode 28

Irvine took on a mission free of charge to retrieve medicine for a nearby village after it'd been stolen by bandits. This was enough of a task on its own, but he'd also been shot in the leg when he was mistaken for one of said bandits in town. Though he succeeded in getting it out of the bandit's base a Rev Raptor slashed his Command Wolf's leg on the way out. It limped into the desert, and Irvine had to leave it behind. Thankfully, Bang showed up to help him get back to town. It was revealed throughout this saga that Irvine had actually had a little sister who passed away of the same fever when they were kids.

Defense For Guygalos, Episode 32 ~ 34

When the group finally neared Guygalos they ran into Homalev, who recognized Rudolph, they retreated to Homalev Castle. Irvine along with the others were offered honorary citizenship as well as a medal of honor for their help. They intended to stay until Rudolph was announced as Emperor, but Bang, impatient to continue their search for Zoid Eve, snuck out in the middle of the night. Soon after the castle was surrounded by imperial forces intending to kill everyone inside to hide the truth of Prozen's conspiracy.

Irvine believed that their best chance was to push right through the crowd. After realizing Homalev had a Royal Saber on stand-by, they moved ahead with this plan. It eventually came to a stand still, until Rosso and Viola showed up in their Storm Sworders. Irvine and the others followed behind Viola's Storm Sworder as she rushed Rudolph back to Guygalos to interrupt the coronation. After the battle against Prozen's Death Saurer began, Irvine was the first to notice that it hadn't been defeated by the first round of concentrated fire. It followed up with a round of its own, potentially killing his Command Wolf had Bang not jumped in with the Liger's Energy Shield. He quickly repaid the favor, firing on the Death Saurer after it had the Blade Liger knocked down.

With the battle ramping up, Hermann offered Irvine a Gojulas The Ogre, a chance he'd denied him earlier in the series. He happily accepted, and took on the role alongside Hermann to try to hold the Death Saurer still long enough for Rosso and Viola to target the particle fan. This only worked briefly before the Death Saurer blasted the heads off of the Gojulas units. Both pilots survived the damage, and the Death Saurer was later defeated by the Blade Liger.

Guardian Force

The Zoid Hunters, Episode 40

Irvine attempted to track down a prized Zoids collection for the reward, which lead him to a group of Zoid hunters who were sweeping up any Zoids they came across, regardless of who they belonged to. He infiltrated the group but was shocked to find Bang engaged in combat with them. He had no choice but to knock him out to keep him from getting shot, then helped him escape by faking that he'd killed him. When the group fought against the Guardian Force, Irvine joined the battle, helping to take out their Hel Digunner.

The Geno Saurer, Episode 44

After winning some tournament prize money Irvine moved on to Laffrey Beach, where he lived it up at a resort. However, after he heard that Raven might be back he chose to return to his friends, dropping in on Bang's simulation battle. They even met up with Moonbay, and when she tried to leave, it was Irvine who guilted her into staying. When Raven's new Geno Saurer later showed its face, Irvine joined the fight. He landed a few hits before his Command Wolf was snared by the cable claws and reeled in, then stomped into a system freeze.

Storm Sworder SSS, Episode 45

Irvine joined the battle against two stolen Storm Sworder SSS. The Zoids were invisible in the dark of night, so his Command Wolf helped fire fluorescent paint shells into the air, raining glowing paint down on their attackers so that they could be properly targeted.

The Geno Breaker, Episode 47

The Geno Breaker's awakening was chaotic, and when they heard the bloodshed over the radio, Irvine rushed ahead of the rest of the group, putting faith in the speed and agility of his Command Wolf. He entered battle assuming that he could dance circles around the Geno Breaker, but quickly found out that the Zoid was faster than he'd ever expected. It snatched the Command Wolf up in the blades and crunched its body, causing fatal damage to the core and leaving Irvine unconscious.

The Lightning Saix, Episode 48

Irvine left his hospital bed to stay by his Command Wolf's side during its dying moments. He looked back fondly on their past, coming to terms with the Wolf's inevitable passing. That is, until Dr. D proposed a new plan. His recently-developed Lightning Saix had suffered catastrophic damage to its combat data. Dr. D proposed transplanting the Command Wolf's combat data into the Lightning Saix, allowing it to live on as the new Zoid. Irvine was so offended by this that when Dr. D pushed the matter, he punched him in the face. However, when Moonbay lectured him, asking if he'd ever even considered the Command Wolf's feelings about whether or not it would want revenge, he reconsidered.

Rudolph soon fell under attack by Hiltz's forces. The Saix was the only Zoid close enough to help, and in spite of it being untested, Irvine decided to go. At first, the fuselage was flung into a state of instability, nearly shaking apart. However, when Irvine appealed to the Command Wolf's mind inside of the Saix's body, the Saix suddenly accepted the combat data as its own. Everything went smoothly from there. Irvine was able to drop the stolen Dibison before it could go over a cliff, saving both Thoma's Dibison and the president herself, who'd been held captive inside the cockpit. Dr. D allowed him to keep the Saix after the battle.

Geno Breaker Rematch, Episode 50

Fine gave Irvine an electrical pulse shield that'd protect the Saix from a particle beam. However, Halford ordered this be removed to prevent issues due to energy expenditure. Though Fine expressed this order, Irvine scoffed, outright refusing to bow to the whims of a pencil pusher who obviously used his men as pawns. He joined Bang and Thoma in attempting the Delta Formation to surround the Breaker and take out its foot locks. The shield saved him from a direct particle cannon blast. Even so, the expenditure did turn out to be an issue when the Lightning Saix froze up. He only survived because Bang drew Raven away from the fight.

Rescue, Episode 51

Irvine and Thoma descended the cliff on cables, looking for Bang's fallen Liger. He was able to find him using his eye patch, seeing that Sieg was in bad shape and that Bang was nowhere to be seen. After they realized he ended up in the village of Nordens, Irvine was one of the first onto the battlefield, protecting Bang and fighting off the Imperial unit who'd shown up to kill him.

Stolen Saix, Episode 55

After being knocked unconscious by some weapons smugglers, Irvine awoke to find his Lightning Saix gone. He was in a room with the stolen gear and arrested by the Republican Army Military Intelligence Division. He took the first opportunity he had to knock out the soldiers, steal the key, and parachute out of the Hammer Kaiser they were transporting him in. Carol took chase, training her gun on him once she'd caught up. He showed her a hologram of Garth, a man she knew well, then used her surprise as a chance to disarm her. Even still, she followed him, all while he insisted that if he found Garth, he'd find his Saix. Once they reached Garth's mansion, they snuck in while pretending to be a couple. Irvine found his Saix, just like he'd said. He told Carol that Garth must've never expected him to escape, and she, without hesitation, told him that they'd wanted Irvine to escape so he could be shot and killed, silencing him after he'd taken the blame for the weapons smuggling operation.

Garth appeared and expressed interest in mass-producing the Lightning Saix, selling them off to the highest bidders. Irvine refused to let the Saix be turned into a tool for war. However, when Garth ordered Carol to shoot Irvine, she instead fired into the steam pipes in the ceiling. Irvine jumped into the Saix and escaped. Carol's feelings towards him seemed complicated. Even after this act she pursued him in her Storm Sworder. Garth was distracted when the Guardian Force arrived at the mansion, leaving the two high-speed Zoids to face each other on the beach. Irvine landed a final devastating blow to the Sworder's wing and it crashed into the ocean, presumably killing Carol. Irvine returned to the beach later to look for her, but never found her.

Storm Sworders, Episode 58

After the Death Stinger retreated to the skies on a Hammer Kaiser, Hiltz sent a sizeable force to deal with Bang and his friends. Irvine fought right alongside him with Thoma. A request came from the Republic for Bang and Thoma to pilot two Storm Sworders to take out the Hammer Kaiser, which was orbiting Zi. Bang, however, felt that he couldn't leave the battle. After all, they were there for him. He gave Irvine his slot on the mission, and though Irvine hesitated, wanting to stand by his friend, he was convinced by Thoma to take part.

The two pilots boarded specially-modified Storm Sworders with massive booster units. They made it to their intended altitude, but their first attempt at destroying the Hammer Kaiser honed in on a decoy instead. With no other option, they elected to engage it in close-range combat. This went against direct orders to retreat. Though they could barely maneuver due to the strain on the fuselage they deftly avoided the lasers coming from the Hammer Kaiser. Both Storm Sworders extended their blades and raked through its sides. It crashed down to Zi. Yet, as the two Sworders circled the crash site they were struck down by a particle beam. The Death Stinger emerged from the wreckage, unscathed.

The Fall of New Helic City, Episode 59

Irvine and Thoma both mobilized to defend New Helic City against the Death Stinger. Unfortunately they met more or less the same defeat, being snatched up by the rear claws and thrown into nearby buildings, causing a system freeze.

Defense of the Ultra Saurus, Episode 60

Irvine joined Bang in defending the Ultra Saurus from Hiltz's forces. When Hiltz fired a particle cannon at the battlefield, destroying the army of Helcats he himself had sent, Irvine and Bang were snatched up by Rosso and Viola's Storm Sworders, saving their lives.

Sea Battle, Episode 61

Irvine joined others in the Guardian Force in defending the Ultra Saurus from Sinkers sent by Hiltz.

Gravity Cannon Test, Episode 62

During the first test of the Gravity Cannon Irvine was piloting a Hammer Head. They knew they'd be discovered by Hiltz's forces as soon as the weapon was tested, so they were prepared to defend them. Sure enough, an army of Sinkers soon arrived. Irvine helped Thoma hunt them down, many caught unawares when they suddenly surfaced right below the flying Zoids. One of the last ones he shot down, however, loosed two torpedoes right before its death. Irvine wasn't fast enough to catch up to them, and called to Bang for help. Piloting a Silver Pteras at the time, Bang was able to destroy the torpedoes just in time.

Return of the Delta Formation, Episode 63

With so few shells for the Gravity Cannon it was decided to bring back the Delta Formation, recycling it to make use of the energy shields on all three Zoids to establish a large triangular barrier. If they could trap the Death Stinger, they could kill it with the Gravity Cannon. They first tested this on a Gojulas, but during the live combat Hiltz managed to shatter the shield because they'd played it too conservatively with energy. As a consequence, the Death Stinger managed to shoot down the second of the three gravity shells. They had just one more shot. Bang urged Thoma and Irvine to try again and dedicate more power to the shields. This time, it held. The Gravity Cannon landed a direct hit on the Death Stinger.

Revival, Episode 64

After Ambient revived the Death Stinger it carved out the ground beneath the Ultra Saurus, creating a sink hole for the Zoid to fall into. With the main hangar bays underground, Bang and Irvine were tasked with chasing it. Since its shield was down, even their conventional weapons would now do damage. When Irvine got snatched up Bang fired until the Death Stinger released him, only for them both to get captured afterwards. Thoma arrived in his Dibison, using concentrated fire to once again free both. While Bang tried to help Fine, who'd taken a hit in a Gustav, Irvine alerted them to something strange going on. The Death Stinger was glowing white, and in moments it vanished along with Fine.

Repairs, Episode 65

Though Irvine and Thoma wanted to continue following Bang, Hermann ordered them both back to the Ultra Saurus to have their Zoids repaired.

Stuck, Episode 66 ~ 67

Though Irvine wanted to mobilize again, his Lightning Saix's alignment was way off, leaving him stuck in the Ultra Saurus. As the Death Saurer advanced he could only stand by and listen to the intercom announcements of failure after failure. When Bang decided to have him and the Blade Liger fired out of the Gravity Cannon Irvine took a place in the cannon's control room, controlling the generator's output power.
