- Episode 18: The Defense of the City
Summary
No matter how many simulations are run, it seems to be a lock. The Imperial Army will win the upcoming war against the Republic. How, then, can they prevent what seems to be certain disaster? Krueger has a rather insane idea involving New Helic City's local volcano, but it'll take some risky efforts to make happen.

- Notable Facts
The power on the Mount Osa Base is harnessed from the geo-thermal energy generated by the manga.
It was stated that if they could force an eruption of the Mount Osa volcano that they would force the Imperial Zoids into a Combat System Freeze. This is interesting, because the Zoids in question weren't damaged. Their systems froze seemingly due to the environmental circumstances, forcing them to instead evacuate a dangerous situation. Though the following is pure fan theory, it's fun to think about how this might've been caused by either their programming or the Zoids themselves becoming afraid during a natural disaster.
Emperor Zeppelin II passes away in this episode, as well as Marcus.
In this episode, Raven's Saber Tiger is killed after lunging part way through the Energy Shield as it activates. The Zoid continues to force its way through, resulting in the armor ripping up from its body until finally, its head is destroyed. This serves as an example of just how dangerous E-Shields can be if the target gets caught at the wrong time or, in this case, has no self preservation.
Following his grandfather's death, Rudolph immediately announces a ceasefire.
