Skills

 Zoids Repair

Moonbay fancies that she can fix just about any Zoid, and that's not just on the physical repair side of things. She modifies a Zoid's system to improve its natural healing abilities, allowing it to compensate for battle damage on its own, even when literal repairs aren't an option.

History

First Appearance, Episode 5

When Moonbay first appeared she was being heckled by the local sleeper Zoids during a transport mission. She was saved by Bang and Irvine, and the entire group driven to a ruin where they decided to stay the night and give their Zoids time to heal. Grateful for the help, Moonbay promptly offered repairs to their Zoids while shrugging off Irvine's lecture about traveling unarmed.

As it turned out, those sleepers weren't so full of it. They knew Moonbay was transporting ammunition for the Empire, and had intentionally herded the group to the ruins so that they could be surrounded. They were able to flee through a canyon, but the number of sleepers was too great. They weren't going to escape. At least, until Moonbay abandoned her cargo, the first time she'd ever done so. As the sleepers piled against the container, firing their weapons to clear the obstacle, the ammunition detonated and took them out while the group escaped. She asked Bang to become her protector to make up for the income she'd lost by abandoning her cargo, thus joining his journey.

Contract Change, Episode 6 ~ 7

After the group got arrested for destroying all those sleeper Guysacks, Moonbay tried to offer transportation services to get let out of jail. They rejected each offer, until Bang returned to break them out of jail. When O'Connell held her and Fine at gunpoint, hoping to use them to control Bang, Moonbay got the best of him. While O'Connell was restrained, she told him that she knew that the Republic was planning to strike the Empire, and that she could help them.

O'Connell agreed to the deal this time. Moonbay would take explosives, hidden in Gustav containers to Fire Bridge under the guise of completing her original transport mission for the Empire. She'd stall on the bridge, then drop the cargo, leave, and detonate it before anyone knew what was happening. Unfortunately for her, the Republic's explosives trigger failed. Bang was able to arrive in time to save them and destroy Fire Bridge, cutting off the Empire's route.

Zoid Magnite Hunt, Episode 14

When Sieg was grievously injured during Bang's rematch against Raven, Moonbay offered to take him to Mt. Ossa to search for the Zoid Magnite that could revive him. She drove the Gustav to the summit and used its special magnite detector to sniff out a chunk of it. She then lowered Bang into the caldera, just above the lava. He was able to grab it, and with the help of its towing cable the Gustav escaped just in time to avoid being hit by the lava. They made it back in time to save Sieg.

Pteras Pilots, Episode 17 ~ 18

At O'Connell's insistence, Moonbay and Fine borrowed a training Pteras to look for Hermann, who'd gone missing during a scouting mission. He was located, and while Bang rushed him to a nearby army base Moonbay and Fine flew back to the Mt. Ossa Base to inform Krueger about the sneaky invasion of the Empire. Upon hearing this Krueger evacuated the base, intending to stay and sacrifice himself to detonate it. Fine knocked him out with a frying pan and the girls kidnapped him in the Pteras.

After one more knock out for trying to return, he asked that they instead bomb Mt. Ossa, thinking that an eruption would override the Zoids' combat systems and force them to retreat. This worked, but the Pteras was shot down by Raven's Saber Tiger. Thankfully, Bang arrived in time to fight.

Exchange, Episode 21

When the group stumbled upon Rudolph, who claimed to have been separated from his parents, Moonbay saw an opportunity to make a quick buck. She offered to help him get home if he gave her a golden ring around his neck, the imperial ring of Guylos. He was happy to make this trade, but Bang guilted her into giving it back. The group had to flee the Geno Saurer almost immediately after.

Surrounded By the Empire, Episode 22

After Rudolph was kidnapped by Shadow a search party from the Guylos Empire showed up looking for him. Moonbay joined Irvine in holding them off so that Bang could try to rescue the young prince.

Judge of Character, Episode 24 ~ 25

Moonbay noticed a man being chased through the desert by two Dark Horns, and ran off the aggressive Zoids. He thanked her profusely, and Moonbay seemed to have quite the crush on the newcomer. In spite of Irvine's suspicions, she insisted they be welcoming, only to have the man, Stinger, poison their food with a paralytic. The whole group was strung up on posts in the desert sun while Stinger demanded they call Sieg out of the evolutionary cocoon. They refused, telling him that Sieg only listened to Bang. They were rescued from the posts by Dr. D, and when Bang's Shield Liger emerged from the cocoon as the Blade Liger, Stinger's Zoid was defeated as well.

Former Love Interest, Episode ~ 30

While fleeing the Imperial Army, Moonbay and the others took shelter in the mansion of well-respected trader, McMahon. They learned that he was actually a former interest of Moonbay's, but on the evening he'd invited her to meet his parents she'd taken off. He hadn't heard from her ever since then. As they tried to decide how to handle the situation, the group began to realize that Moonbay might still have feelings for McMahon. They even pondered why she could've possibly left such a luxurious life, and planned to sneak out, continuing their journey without her under the misguided thought that they were doing her a favor. McMahon, still deeply in love with Moonbay told her about their plan, giving her the freedom to make the choice for herself. She chose to continue traveling, and later joked that she'd left because she couldn't stand his taste in music.

Return To Guygalos, Episode 33 ~ 34

Moonbay and the others successfully returned Rudolph to Guygalos, meeting Homalev, a loyal supporter of his. Moonbay was the first to ask about a reward and they were offered honorary citizenship and a medal of honor for their efforts. While Bang and Fine snuck away in the night to look for Zoid Eve, Prozen's subordinates learned where Rudolph was located. They surrounded Homalev Castle, and Irvine and Moonbay both supported the Imperial forces there in defending Rudolph. They helped Rudolph fight his way to freedom, then followed him to Guygalos. Moonbay offered support fire to cover Bang's fallen Blade Liger, with Dr. D, who was riding in the Gustav, offering insight into how to defeat the Death Saurer.

Guardian Force

The Geno Saurer, Episode 44

While chasing down a lead on some transport work Moonbay came across a damaged Dibison. He only spoke the words 'Geno Saurer' and when she recognize his Guardian Force badge she rushed him to the nearest base. Knowing the Gustav wasn't much of a fighter, Moonbay intended to continue her travels and leave the group. However, she was guilted by Irvine about doing so, and stuck around a bit longer to help out.

When the Geno Saurer showed up near the base, Bang and Irvine were overwhelmed. She drove in front of the Geno Saurer just as it was about to fire the Charged Particle Cannon point-blank at the Blade Liger. To their amazement, Raven suddenly left the field after that, leaving her Gustav with a giant hole through one of its shell plates. Thankfully, it hadn't hit the core.

The Lightning Saix, Episode 48

When Irvine's Command Wolf received fatal injuries he struggled to cope with its impending death. Dr. D proposed that they transplant its combat data into a new Zoid, the Lightning Saix, allowing it to live on in a new form. Irvine considered this to be a gross experiment on his beloved Zoid. He even got violent, but at that point Moonbay stepped in. She asked Irvine if he'd even stopped to consider whether the Command Wolf might want a little revenge, a second chance. Her words seemed to have some effect, as Irvine went through with the transplant.

Upgrades, Episode 50

Moonbay assisted Fine in upgrading the Blade Liger's boosters.

Rescue, Episode 51

Moonbay helped to lower Irvine and Thoma into the canyon in search of Bang. His Liger had been thrown over the ledge in his battle against Raven. They eventually tracked him to the village of Nordens only to find him under attack by the Imperial Army. It was Moonbay and her Gustav that landed the shots that took out Seepers' Red Horn, the Zoid leading the group.

Booster Potential, Episode 52

While the Liger struggled to keep up with Bang's skills as a pilot, Dr. D offered to let him test some boosters. When Irvine refused to test them, Moonbay volunteered to test the Booster II unit, excited at the idea of her Gustav being faster. It was flying, able to out speed even the Saix. However, the boosters were so powerful that her breaks were completely ineffective. Her Zoid went out of control until the boosters ripped off the sides and spiraled into the air, where they exploded. She was finally able to hit the breaks and skid sideways to a stop against the cliff. Needless to say, she opted not to keep the boosters.

The Legendary Fireball, Episode 53

After having unexpectedly dropped out of racing four years prior, Moonbay rejoined the Guylos Grand Prix in her iconic Sinker. Adorned with flames, she raced as 'The Legendary Fireball.' This time, her Sinker was equipped with special engines that Dr. D had 'borrowed' from the army. Even after scuffing the start of the race she managed to pull ahead, and prepared to take first. In the final lap, followed close behind by Masquerade, she clipped her wing on the track walls. Her Sinker's engines started malfunctioning and she lost speed, falling behind right before the finish line. Frustrated by her failing to place first, Dr. D promptly shifted the blame for the stolen engines to her and Irvine.

The Death Stinger, Episode 57

Moonbay and Thoma followed Fine when she suddenly left the base to follow a massive energy signature. They became the first to witness the awakening of the Death Stinger, and watched in terror as it fired a particle cannon over their heads, aiming for Bang's ongoing battle against Raven. They were powerless to stop it when it escaped on the Hammer Kaiser.

Storm Sworder Modifications, Episode 58

After the Hammer Kaiser left Fine and Moonbay were specifically called back to base to carry out the remainder of the modifications to two Storm Sworders, which the Republican Army intended to send into space after the transporter.

The Ultra Saurus, Episode 60

After towing Irvine and Bang out of New Helic City Moonbay was thrilled to sit in the pilot seat for the massive Ultra Saurus. When they realized they were still under threat by the Death Stinger everyone scrambled to get the giant machine up and running. Moonbay worked on the wiring for the console, and coordinated with Fine and Thoma to keep things moving. When it was finally time to start the Ultra Saurus up, she was ready to jump in the seat, becoming the Ultra's pilot.

Sea Battle, Episode 61

Moonbay continued to pilot the Ultra Saurus. After a Hammer Head was sunk by an eruption of methane gas they decided to go a longer route about, Moonbay of course expressing her discontent with her precious Ultra being taken into such dangerous waters. They weren't completely free of Hiltz just yet, however. An army of Sinkers was heading their way, along with the Stinger. Moonbay had excellent control of the Ultra, dodging attacks from must faster Zoids in spite of its limitations. When the Stinger caught up it began cutting its way through the Ultra's thick armor. In order to dislodge it they dropped depth charges into the methane field, setting off a series of eruptions that knocked the sea scorpion loose.

Gravity Cannon Test, Episode 62

Moonbay piloted the Ultra during its Gravity Cannon test. They knew that using the weapon would immediately reveal their location to Hiltz, so she was prepared, carefully maneuvering the Ultra as best she could through the army of Sinkers that attacked them afterwards.

Ultra Saurus Disabled, Episode 64

The Ultra Saurus successfully shot down the Death Stinger at the Garil Plateau, only for Ambient to revive it. Its first action was to target the Ultra Saurus, the largest threat in the area, by digging out the ground from underneath of it. Moonbay couldn't do anything to keep the behemoth from tipping over, and with the main hangar bays now underground they had to trust Bang and Irvine to chase the injured Death Stinger alone.

March To Eveopolis, Episode 65

The Ultra Saurus was finally able to be repaired, but Hermann insisted that they had to try to catch up to the Blade Liger. Moonbay decided to push the Zoid to its limits, insisting she'd let her newfound companion squish anyone who called it slow.

Eveopolis, Episode 66

As the Ultra Saurus neared Eveopolis Hermann announced their intention to fire the final Gravity Cannon shell, which had been manufactured on the way. Moonbay had guided the giant transporter all the way there. Right when they were ready to fire, the Death Saurer turned and fired its particle cannon, hitting the Ultra in the leg. It toppled once more, Moonbay doing everything she could to keep it from completely tipping. Eventually, she was able to stabilize it just enough for them to fire the Gravity Cannon. It was a hit, but to their shock the Death Saurer suppressed the hyper gravity field, using it instead as a lens through which it could fire and divide its particle beams across the planet. At this point, Moonbay lost hope, believing the Death Saurer was too powerful to beat.

The Final Battle, Episode 67

When Hiltz once again used the gravity lens to fire the particle cannon the Ultra Saurus received even greater damage. It almost toppled, and likely would have had Moonbay not gained control of it sooner. Even though she believed it'd be game over if the Ultra really did fall over, she was still frustrated when Hermann called for a full evacuation of the Zoid. They were asked to wait a bit longer by none other than Bang himself, and when he came up with a plan to fire himself and the Blade Liger out of the Gravity Cannon Moonbay was stunned. Still, they didn't exactly have many options. She did everything she could to keep the Ultra Saurus aligned, and eventually got it in the perfect position to fire. The resulting shot killed the Death Saurer and the group was finally able to return to some state of peace.
