Ancient Zoidian Technology

Silver Fang was developed using ancient technology. Dr. Baba, the developer of the project, used this language for his research notes. After he left, up to 40% of his original notes weren't able to be analyzed, leaving a lot of mystery to this unusual wolf-type unit. It certainly presented challenges in the form of unknown technology installed to the Silver Fang, such as the Magnezer equipment built into the body. Either way, the Zoid was unable to be controlled, and later disappeared, along with all of its complicated technology.

- History

While the war between the Empire and the Republic raged on, so did the arms race. Command Wolves, which had been a mainstay high-speed Zoid in the Republican Army, were quickly becoming obsolete. They couldn't keep up with the Empire's new high-speed Zoid, the Lightning Saix, and while the Shadow Fox was a strong successor to its design, there simply weren't enough surviving wild fox-type Zoids for reproduction.

One particular attempt that the Republic made, realizing variations simply weren't enough, was to adapt the CAS concept to the Command Wolf. They were, after all, simultaneously working on the Liger Zero that they'd stolen from the Empire, which was focused entirely on the Changing Armor System. Unfortunately, it was too much for the base, especially for a completed design like the Command Wolf, so it just wasn't feasible. For a time, they stopped their search for a successor.

Their luck changed when a research team, investigating ruins on the Western Continent, captured a giant wolf-type Zoid. These Western wild bodies turned out to be of significant strength compared to the Central Continent's wolves, and it reinvigorated the Republic's search efforts for successor.

Unfortunately, after its development, there was no one who could control the Silver Fang. It became known as the phantom Zoid, and Dr. Baba, who had developed the Silver Fang, went missing along with the completed machine sometime during his stay on the Eastern Continent. It's rumored that the König Wolves deployed by the Republican Army were detuned versions of the Silver Fang, and aspects of its research contributed to the progression of the Liger platform.
