- Episode 18: The Defense of the City

At the coast Herman rallies his mens and declares their determination to fight. Prozen has finally made his appearance and dropped the communication jamming. When he speaks with Madame President he gives her only two options: An unconditional surrender or be destroyed. Her unconditional surrender would mean the disarmament of all forces, all civilian assets, and all civil rights. She cuts him off abruptly to decline.
Krueger has gone missing, and Irvine nor O'connel recall seeing him, Moonbay, or Fiona. They've been left in Mount Osa Base, where Krueger is planning to detonate the base itself. Fiona and Moonbay rebuke his idea to stay behind, and Fiona, much to Moonbay's amazement, cracks him in the head with a skillet to change his mind. They leave the base with a remote detonator which, of course, fails to work.
Outside of the base Schubaltz blocks the remaining soldiers. He warns them about going into the base, and reminds them about Chornos Fortress -- that if it's that easy to enter Mount Osa base, than it will likely be the same trick. They mustn't fall for it twice.
In another land, Rudolph has learned that his father is dying. In his final moments he tells him that he must listen to Prozen, for Prozen has shown his loyalty to the Empire for many years, and is fighting even as they speak. He passes on without being able to tell Rudolph much more, making him the new Emperor of the Guylos Empire.
A pteras carrying Krueger, Moonbay, and Fiona is redirected back towards Mount Osa. Krueger recommends that blasting the interior of the Volcano may trigger the explosion, but their first attempt fails, and before they can try again the Pteras is gunned from the sky. Raven's red Zaber Fang has come to the Volcano looking for trouble, and he's found these guys instead. Even with their Zoid destroyed, he complemplates eliminating them all -- Thankfully, Van arrives at the mouth of the Volcano.
Dr. D has come with another Pteras, and taking Krueger, while two other Pteras gather up Moonbay and Fiona, they finally trigger the eruption process. In a desperate attempt to reach the Shield Liger Raven drives his Zaber Fang through the energy shield. Meaty metals are torn from its bone frame and the Zoid falls apart just as Raven leaves with Shadow.
Our episode is coming to a close. A sudden message flickers across the screen, from Rudolph. He interrupts both sides of the army, announcing his grandfather's passing and his new status as Emperor. He commands that his soldiers stand down, and wishes Madame President good will in her following years.
