- Mount Olympus

Mount Olympus is a famous site, and one of the main focuses of the Western Continent War. With a height of over 8,000 meters it was known as the "Roof of Europa". Anyone who controlled the mountain could see out over the entire continent, giving them a massive advantage. However, another huge bonus of the mountain was the ancient ruin near the summit.

- Ancient Civilization Ruins

The ruins near Mount Olympus' summit were built by an ancient civilization, and contained a great deal of the ancient supertechnology. Even though the buildings had begun to fall into a state of decay, the Empire was still able to make use of this technology, restoring power to the machines. They used the incredible capabilities of the ruin to resurrect one of the most feared Zoids of all time, the Death Saurer. Later on, this technology was called the Organoid System.

- Environment

  • Mount Olympus is over 8,000 meters tall.

  • The environment on the mountain is harsh, with fierce winds and steep rocks.

  • Mount Olympus is in the midde of a massive lake, known as Mercurius Lake.

  • The particle cannon fired by the incomplete Death Saurer permanently changed the surface of Mount Olympus, and destroyed the ancient ruins that were near the summit.

  • - History

    ZAC 2099, August

The Guylos Empire and the Helic Republic fought for control over Mercurius Lake, which rested at the base of the mountain. During this fight the Empire gained control, but Republican bombing runs allowed the High-Speed Combat Force to land at the shore. The Empire arrived shortly before, and began their search for the unit.

    ZAC 2099, September

Mount Olympus was the site of the conflict between L.G. Halford's Shield Liger and battalion and Stefan Skorzeny's Saber Tiger. This battle took place half way up the mountain during the night, and ended with the Republican battalion as the victors.

    ZAC 2100, October

At the end of September, the 2nd Independent High-Speed Combat Battalion of the Helic Republic reached the ruins near the summit of Mount Olympus, and witnessed the Death Saurer being hooked up to the ancient ruins there. The ruins had the power to resurrect the beast, and an all-out battle started between the battalion and the Death Saurer. Most defensive units of the Empire had already been wiped out by the Death Saurer's violent reawakening, and though the Zoid was incomplete, it was able to fire the Charged Particle Cannon. This blast created a smoldering trench that started at the summit and damaged the nearby ruins.

The Death Saurer destroyed almost every Zoid that stood at the summit. It was finally stopped by L.G. Halford's Shield Liger, but the backflow of energy caused the Zoid to begin a molecular breakdown process. During the course of the Zoid's destruction, the entire base where the Death Saurer was being built was destroyed, and severe damage befell the top of the mountain.
