We knew the Gravity Cannon would be making its way to the Advanced Zi line, but a new AZ-17 Ultra Saurus has also been announced! This will be the standard Ultra Saurus without the Gravity Cannon, and will be a wider public release scheduled to open for pre-orders in July.
Now, the Ultra we've all been waiting for, the Moonbay Spec. (also listed as Gravity Cannon Spec.) has received some additional details! This Zoid will unfortunately be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive, but don't forget, state-side distributors have been getting these exclusives in recent times as well. This version of the Ultra Saurus will include the Gravity Cannon. Pre-orders are expected to open in July with a release date tentatively scheduled for late February 2027, at the same time as the standard Ultra Saurus. Hobby Japan has some additional photos.
A discussion with the staff mentions this kit's incredible size, measuring about 721mm in length, 379mm in height (a bit taller than an HMM Gojulas), and 392mm in width. The motorized gimmicks are said to carry out the entire firing sequence, including loading the shells (with no actual projectiles, of course.)
The full color prototype for the AZ-16 Liger Zero Jager has been revealed! The kit has already gone up for pre-order, with an expected release date of late December for 15,400 yen. As usual the page (linked above) has more photos and concept art. You'll be able to press a switch after it starts walking that'll allow the boosters to open up. The basic Liger Zero Jager will come with an unarmored Zero body and a rich blue Jager armor. The colored prototype was on display at the Shizuoka Hobby Show.
We've all come to expect CAS units to be released alongside the full Liger + Body kits, but the AZ Jager is changing things up a bit. Instead of them being the same end result, this time, the separately-released Jager Unit (armor only) is being released as the 'Original Color'(bottom of page) which features the much more faded colors of the NJR Jager release and will be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive. This allows fans to get the NC0 accurate colors with the full kit or the old NJR colors with the armor unit version. This kit has already gone up for pre-order and is expected to release in late December for 5,500 Yen. The unit can be equipped to any AZ Zero, be it regular or Phoenix. One post even shows it equipped to the Liger Zero Empire.
Another surprising choice is the choice to release the Type Zero armor as its own stand-alone release! I don't think this has ever been done before. Usually, people just get the base body and have a ton of Zero armors left over, but it's nice for those who are starting with the CAS units instead. Like the Jager unit, it's compatible with both the 02 Liger Zero and the 06 Liger Zero Phoenix. This kit is scheduled to release in late December for 2,750 yen.
The prototypes for the AZ Jager and Panzer were shown off at the event. You can see that Schneider will include the extending E-Shield generators, and Panzer includes all the missiles you could want. They're expected to release sometime in 2027.
The AZ-14 Liger Zero X was revealed a while back, and has been up for pre-order for a bit. The kit looks amazing, and trades the older deep-blue panels for a lighter ice-blue color. The Drum Condensers on the lower back, which were previously detail parts on older kits can actually spin (manually) on this one. It comes with a generic blue pilot figure and is scheduled to be released in late September for 13,206 Yen.
An accompanying X Unit (featuring the armor only, bottom of page) will also be released at the same time as the AZ-14 Liger Zero X, in late September for 6,600 Yen.
The AZ Geno Saurer is being released as the AZ-15 Psycho Geno Saurer variant, featuring the beautiful blues and purples and custom equipment. It'll include the phantom projectors and custom Flexible Laser on the head, as well as a Rease and Specular fig in addition to the standard pilot. It's scheduled to release in late September for 16,500 Yen.
An interview posted by Hobby Watch also discusses the development of the Psycho Geno Saurer and Liger Zero X, with some additional photos. The Psycho Geno Saurer will come with all the parts to create a blue Geno Saurer. The eyes contain blue LEDs while the rest of the LEDs remain red.
In a huge surprise Zoids Official posted a teaser image of the next AZ Zoid, depicting a strangely familiar weapon. It was titled as a new project by the codename Super Dreadnought: The same codename used for the Ultra Saurus in the Zoids Battle Story. It looks like they'll be releasing not just the Ultra Saurus, but also including the Gravity Cannon! This is an amazing addition going above and beyond what it needed to be. The Gravity Cannon has been such a sought-after kit that its been made numerous times by fans, but even when making them yourself, it's hard and costly to do so. With what we saw in the AZ Death Saurer it's also exciting to think about the incredible engineering that may go into the Ultra Saurus!
Another unexpected variant was announced for the Sea Panther, a Dark Army Spec.! This black-armored kit includes a glow-in-the-dark green frame, which should look amazing. It'll be a T-Spark exclusive. For people state-side, you can usually find those on Kotobukiya-US. More photos can be seen on the Takara Tomy Mall. This kit is expected to release in August for 6,050 yen.
The Murasame Liger Original Color is already up for pre-order on the TakaraTomy Mall(Scheduled for July for 14,300 Yen) so we're beginning to see more official photos for it. These photos also confirm that it comes with a glow in the dark blade, a shout out to the old motorized kit.
The event display for the Advanced Zi series shows off a brand new variant, the Murasame Liger Original Color Version! This variant has the striking blue that Murasame Liger was first released in (as a kit), still sporting a chrome blade. The display even seems to have a recreation of the glow-in-the-dark blade, which was a limited option part from the old Tomy line!
Zoids Official also posted sketches of the Advanced Zi Liger Zero CAS units! This may be why RMZ is starting later in the armor line~ It's exciting to see X represented alongside the other armors, and I look forward to the prototypes.
Zoids Official posted a very exciting teaser that revealed the CAS units for Liger Zero would be coming to the Advanced Zi series! The image teases not just Jager, Panzer, and Schneider, but also the X CAS, which'll match the limited Liger Zero EM.
The AZ Liger Zero Empire went up for pre-order a while back, and now has its own Takara Tomy Mall page. The kit comes with a standard blue pilot. It's scheduled to release in March 2026 for 13,200 yen (tax included.)
The AZ-13 Canory Molga was recently announced, and already has a product page! This kit will bring the Glide Cannon into the AZ line, and features the classic Zenebas color scheme. The product page has several neat concept arts and tons of pictures. The kit is scheduled to release in May 2026 for 6,050 Yen (tax included.)
This guy was announced at an event a while back, but we finally have an official announcement for the AZ-02EX2 Liger Zero Empire Spec. and man does it look gorgeous in these colors! This kit is a T-Spark / TTMall exclusive with pre-orders expected to open in September. Now, in the past, some TT Mall exclusives have appeared on the Kotobukiya US store, but I can't help but notice that this post distinctly mentions it being a domestic release, so we'll have to wait and see.
We now have an official web page for the AZ-12 Geno Breaker, which as usual contains some lovely concept art of the kit, as well as insights into the 3D model! There's tons of additional photos to view. The kit is scheduled to release in March 2026 for 19,800 yen (tax included). Those who order through the Takara Tomy Mall before August 31st will receive five limited postcards. There's a couple of awesome videos for you to check out as well!
Takara Tomy has, without delay, announced the reveal of the Advanced Zi Geno Breaker, following right on the heels of the Geno Saurer's release! This teaser image references an old announcement in CoroCoro for the Tomy Geno Breaker, which is a fun detail.
Though this is a Saurer with an extra weapons unit, TT has really gone out of their way to make this AZ Breaker something special. For starters, keen eyes may notice that it's modeled after Raven's Geno Breaker from the anime, complete with the white face covering and blue LED eyes. For those who aren't anime-focused, it comes with swappable parts to turn the face cover red and the black Free Round Shield segment to red. Like the old Tomy Breaker, it includes all the pieces you need to make a red AZ Geno Saurer.
The Charged Particle Converter in the backpack spins. The Charged Particle Cannon and core glow red like the Geno Saurer. The arms connecting the Free Round Shield also have a unique piece that, when the shields are stationary at the sides, will actually make the X-Breakers move! It can be disconnected to allow free articulation of the arms for action poses. This is such a cool feature I didn't know I needed, but I'm excited about it. Hybridized articulation-motorization features like this are a dream. The Zoid is currently in the shooting process for its upcoming commercial, and pre-orders are expected to open August 6th!
