History

First Appearance, Episode 6 ~ 7

Rob first appeared when he tracked down the group responsible for destroying a number of sleeper Guysacks - Bang, Fine, Irvine, and Moonbay. They were apprehended. Though Rob was able to confirm Bang's story about finding his Shield Liger abandoned, when he and Irvine escaped he ended up right back in their cross hairs. Rob pursued them with a unit of 3 Pteras, and in spite of his best efforts they all fell to the same silly tricks. This embarrassing defeat turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as while he was drifting down in his parachute he saw that the Empire was making their move to cross the bridge.

Rob was quick to form his own unit, facing the Empire directly in a stand off. They waited patiently, until a Pteras from the Republic attacked the enemy side. Rob recognized it immediately as the Empire trying to falsely start the battle. He ordered his troops into action, but thankfully, the plan they'd laid out to have Moonbay and Bang destroy Fire Bridge was successful, prompting the Empire to retreat.

Recommendation, Episode 8

When the group asked about Zoid Eve Hermann admitted he'd never heard of it, but directed them to seek out the National Ancient Studies Institute in New Helic City.

Toppling the ZG, Episode 15

Rob recklessly flew over enemy lines to reach the Republic base awaiting a battle. When he heard that Krueger was planning to pilot the Gojulas in the conflict he dismissed the idea, claiming he was too old, and that he himself would be a much better choice. He found Krueger injured by falling debris, and when Irvine asked to pilot the Gojulas, he scoffed at the idea as nonsense. Instead Hermann piloted the Gojulas into battle, but while it forced the Empire to retreat, Rob toppled the Gojulas the first step off of the metal platform.

Investigation, Episode 16 ~ 18

Rob left to investigate two questionable icebergs drifting towards New Helic City. He realized too late that they were leaking oil. Hidden compartments opened and shot down the Pteras unit, while jamming snow prevented him from sending an emergency communication. He was pulled out of the ocean by Dr. D, then escorted back the Republic by Bang. Along the way, he even coached Bang on how to defeat Raven's Saber Tiger. With all other business taken care of, he stationed himself at New Helic City in his Gordos, awaiting the invasion. A 4 hour ceasefire was declared while Prozen waited for a surrender, but Rob just watched Mt. Ossa. He knew when the volcano erupted that it'd signal the fall of the Mt. Ossa base, and with it, a large number of the Empire's forces, giving them much better odds in combat. Thankfully Emperor Rudolph ordered the Empire forces to withdraw before the final battle could happen.

New Aircraft, Episode 29

Hermann vouched for Rosso and Viola to be the test pilots for the Republic's new state-of-the-art aircrafts, the Storm Sworders. They'd saved them from the Geno Saurer battle, and had seemingly built some trust. Part way through the flight they faked communication issues and flew into imperial territory to save crowned prince Rudolph. The Republic still seemed to work with them afterwards, so this doesn't seem to have soured their relationship.

Reinforcements, Episode 32 ~ 34

When Homalev, a high-ranking official of the Guylos Empire reached out to Louise, president of the Helic Republic for help to save the Empire, Hermann was sent to Guygalos alongside reinforcements. He seems to have piloted a blue Shield Liger, staying in the fight even with some injuries (being unable to open his left eye.) and was implied to have switched to the Gojulas once it arrived on the battlefield. He was one of two, with Irvine being the other, to try to stop the Death Saurer's advance by holding it back with the Gojulas. Unfortunately, both units were decapitated during the fight.

Guardian Force

Investigation, Episode 35

When reports came in of an unknown Zoid attacking key military locations in the Empire, then crossing into Republic territory, Hermann set out to investigate in a Pteras Radome. He was shot down by a Stealth Viper.

Dragonhead Base Heist, Episode 45

Dragonhead Base was attacked during a visit. In the chaos, two men tried to board the still-in-development Storm Sworder Stealth units, claiming they'd been ordered to do so. Hermann knew this was a lie, as the Storm Sworders hadn't even been installed with proper combat commands yet. He held Ralph, one of the men at gun point and demanded to know who they were. Hermann was then attacked by a red Organoid, confirming that they were part of Hiltz's forces. Though they both lived, O'Connell was knocked unconscious, and Hermann had to carry him back to safety.

Even so, they'd need to return if they wanted to get the combat commands needed to run them properly. Hermann and O'Connell joined Moonbay in three Silver Pteras. In the battle they used ground units to fire fluorescent paint into the sky, lighting the nearly-invisible Zoids up with splashes of neon green. The Republic and Guardian Force were able to take down Mueller's Storm Sworder, but Hermann and O'Connell were both brought down by Ralph's Sworder.

Operational Command, Episode 58

Hermann seemed to be in the leadership position when the Death Stinger began attacking locations from the upper atmosphere. He met with President Camford and informed her of the situation, as well as their plan to launch two Storm Sworders to target the Stinger's transporter. He personally recommended Bang and Thoma for the mission, and assigned Fine and Moonbay to carry out the remaining modifications on the Storm Sworder. However, because Bang was tied up in a battle against Hiltz's forces, Irvine went in his stead.

The Fall of New Helic City, Episode 59

Hermann joined the battle against Hiltz's Death Stinger alongside Karl Schwarz. A poorly-matched fight to be sure, but he had a plan. He'd use the Shield Liger's energy shield to short out the shield of the Death Stinger, a plan that worked like a charm. Though he and Karl were shot down it was enough of a delay for the defense forces to show up, who bought enough time for the evacuations to complete.

New Commander, Episode 60

Hermann did his best to keep everyone focused while trying to reboot the Ultra Saurus, the last resort of the two armies. During the attack Krueger fell and received a head injury. He decided that, even though he had intended to be the commander of the Ultra Saurus, he was going to give that honor over to Hermann. He wanted Hermann to be responsible for creating the miracles that he claimed they all needed.

Sea Battle, Episode 61

Having escaped across the sea, the Ultra needed a new way to escape the Death Stinger. It was rapidly approaching, and they'd already dealt with an army of Sinkers sent by Hiltz. Hermann made the call to direct the Ultra Saurus to the methane ice fields, fully intending to detonate the ice to catch Hiltz by surprise. The plan was a resounding success, dislodging the Death Stinger right when it was about to tear through the armor.

The Gravity Cannon, Episode 62

Hermann's next act as commander of the Ultra Saurus was to assign Karl Schwarz as the man to aim and fire the weapon.

The Revived Death Stinger, Episode 64

After the Death Stinger was revived and toppled the Ultra Saurus, Dr. D explained that the powerful Zoid hadn't yet reached full strength. It was missing its energy shield, and would be susceptible to damage from even basic weaponry, if they hurried. He invited Karl to be the commander of the large Zoid force they would mobilize, but found out that the main hangars of the Ultra Saurus were buried underground and that the elevators to the flight deck had been damaged. The only Zoids who could follow were the Blade Liger and Lightning Saix.

Onward March, Episode 65

The gravitational effects of the Gravity Cannon were causing far-reaching electromagnetic effects on their communications equipment, making it hard for the now-repaired Ultra Saurus to remain in contact with its units in the field. They made brief contact with Irvine and Thoma, and Hermann ordered them to return to the Ultra for repairs instead of following Bang to provide support. He ordered the mobilization of a Storm Sworder SSS to take their place and asked Moonbay to get the Ultra moving as fast as possible. However, the SSS was taken out by a Rare Hertz pulse, further complicating their communications.

The Final Shell, Episode 66 ~ 67

Hermann received several startling reports from Eveopolis. That the Death Saurer was entombed there, that Prozen was still alive, and even that the Zoid Eve was in the city, fully awakened. Right as they got close Bang reached out to request backup. Hermann urged him to leave the city at once, fully intending to fire the singular Gravity Cannon shell to destroy the Death Saurer. Unfortunately, the Ultra was hit by a particle beam, receiving a leg injury right before it could fire.

Nevertheless, Moonbay was able to stabilize the Zoid just enough to get off a shot. To their absolute horror, the Death Saurer suppressed the hyper gravity field, instead creating a lens in the sky that it could use to divide a particle beam into numerous beams that spread across the planet.

The Final Battle, Episode 67

When Hiltz once again used the gravity lens to fire the particle cannon the Ultra Saurus received even greater damage. At risk of falling, many of its compartments filling with fire and smoke Hermann made the tough decision to call for an evacuation. Bang appealed to him to wait just a little longer. When Fine then expressed her desire to destroy Zoid Eve to stop the fighting, Bang asked Hermann to fire him and the Blade Liger out of the Gravity Cannon. Hermann was horrified, feeling like he'd be condemning them if he agreed, but Dr. D claimed the plan to be a brilliant way to break through the Death Saurer's armor. Either way, with few choices left they elected to move forward. The second Hermann heard that they were locked on he ordered the firing of the Gravity Cannon. They finally defeated the Death Saurer, bringing peace back to Planet Zi.
