Reviews have been posted for the RMZ-001 Blade Liger and the RMZ-002 Geno Saurer! These kits have really surprised me in terms of overall quality and how fun they are to play with. The addition of effect parts just makes them all the better!
At the end of the recent RMZ Iron Kong video we saw a teaser for the upcoming Geno Saurer Raven Version! The Command Wolf Irvine set the precedent of variations having the potential for extra parts, so it'll be interesting to see if this Zoid comes with anything extra as well. In Chaotic Century, the initial Geno Saurer was black and purple (considered the standard, though it was still piloted by Raven) while the second one, which would later evolve into the Geno Breaker was black and red.
A big surprise announcement for the RMZ line was the Hell Cat Tirol Version! This is based on the silver Helcat from Zoids Guardian Force. This Helcat has never gotten a model kit before, so it's an exciting anime addition.
The RMZ-009 Iron Kong Guylos Color (English page) was also announced! It's currently scheduled to release in November 2025 for 9,900 yen (tax included.) Though this price may seem high, remember the scale. Iron Kong towers over Geno Saurer, with considerably more bulk. They showed off a PV as well, which I recommend watching since they went out of their way to include tons of custom animation for it rather than just using stock photos with text overlays.
We've heard a lot more about the Command Wolf Irvine Special, scheduled to be released in September for 5,500 yen. I'm sure nobody was surprised to hear this famous variant announced, including its Long Range Rifle, but this kit goes so far beyond that it's crazy.
The kit includes an Irvine pilot as well as an option part for the neck featuring the Memory Bank from Zoids Guardian Force. For those who haven't seen it (spoilers), the Command Wolf's memory banks were transplanted into the Lightning Saix after it sustained fatal injuries.
More than that, though, the kit will contain an entire optional customize parts set to deck it out in the gear from Episode 14, where it used these spear missiles to fight Raven's Saber Tiger in delightfully brutal ways. The set comes with 1 Long Range Rifle, 2 black spears, 2 white spears, the face guns, and a missile box with swappable front parts to have the doors open or closed.
Not only is it exciting to get a set thats never been released before, but it also calls back to earlier interviews. More specifically, that they'd love to include parts to make variations that aren't popular / well known enough to warrant a separate product release. This raises some exciting possibilities for the RMZ line, which is already impressing fans. It's one of the first times we've seen multi-variation sets like this that weren't just repackages of pre-existing parts. It's multiple new parts sets for different variations. Here's hoping we see more of this in the future!
Last but not least, Hobby Search posted an interview that looks at both the Trinity Liger and its many challenges as well as the Command Wolf Irvine Special. Evidently, the Spear Missile set came about because of an earlier developer's passion to see it made into a physical kit. So, thank you, developer! A nice detail is that the red shoulders are made via injection colors, with the black circles painted. This means that unlike earlier Irvine wolves, you aren't likely contending with unpainted sprue marks. The rifle also has a telescoping gimmick. The interview shows a black prototype holding the spear missile set, but please be advised the set comes with one wolf.
This is old news by now, but the Blade Liger and Geno Saurer received some unboxing and build review videos voiced by Zoiko. Reviews were also posted by Hobby Watch for both the Blade Liger and Geno Saurer. This gives you a good idea of what they look like out of the box, with all the sprues posted.
At the end of a recent Trinity Liger video the next RMZ kit was announced! Looks like Molga is coming in with a Canory Unit. This makes Molga one of the first RMZ kit to receive a variant, after the Command Wolf Irvine. There are several more silhouettes from the RMZ announcement that've yet to be revealed, but at this rate, it won't take long!
In the same video, Takara Tomy previewed the sketch for what appears to be an RMZ Iron Kong! This is going to be fun, because the Kong is a different size from the RMZ kits thus far. It'll also be interesting to see what sort of connection points are used. If they use your standard 3mm or 5mm connections it could open up a lot of customization possibilities. These weapons can look a bit ridiculous on medium sized Zoids, but at this scale... It could work. Maybe.
The RMZ-07 Trinity Liger is now up for pre-order! Check out your usual sites, and remember, AmazonJP is now charging up front instead of upon release. Aside from launching a new Preview Video, the official webpage is now live, giving us a decent look at the Trinity Liger concept art! This kit looks so good. Here's hoping for some Hydras, or perhaps, just maybe, a Burning Armor!
A section for the Realize Model series has been added to the site! Most relevant pages are up, and it contains a list of all of the RMZ kits announced thus far. The first RMZ kits are releasing next month, and we've got an impressive line up of roughly 10 announced at this point. Hopefully these lists will help people keep track of what all there is to collect.
We've got our first look at the painted sample of the RMZ-008 Command Wolf Irvine! The RMZ Command Wolf already looks so good, and this is no exception. Pre-orders are expected to start in February.
On the 17th ~ 18th, Takara Tomy will be hosting a T-Spark Zone event. For those who aren't aware, T-Spark is the grand label that currently encompasses a lot of the current Zoids products, including AZ, RMZ, and more. The promo page for the event shows us a new image for the Trinity Liger, which highlights the leg armor's gimmick of flipping forward to deploy two blades over the paws. A second post by Dengeki Hobby shows the Liger in a roaring pose.
Zoids Official has started showing off the test model for the RMZ-007 Trinity Liger! This is the first time ever that the Trinity has gotten a full model kit release, and we're stoked to see it. A recent image shows off that it even has the mane rotation gimmick shown in the games, which revolves the mane around the neck (at the base of the neck) to rotate different equipment up to the head. Each of the three panels include one piece of equipment. In this case, a Beam Gun, Turbine, and Multi Radar. It's also impressive that even at 1/100 scale the kit includes all of its relevant translucent pieces, even on the mane.
The prototype for the upcoming Saber Tiger Schwarz was also shown off, with the color prototype coming later. Funny enough, the kit includes the pink gun that I'd always presumed was a leftover from recycling parts from the Stinger Special 3D model. The official product page is now up, including concept art! The kit is scheduled to release in June 2025 for 6,600 yen (tax included.) Be advised that AmazonJP is charging up front for this pre-order.
An interview over on Hobby Watch discussed the kit's production, including making note that the Schwarz character standee was quite popular. The kit is expected to have about 250 parts including weapons. The cable uses springs instead of rubber parts, for longevity. They also mentioned that they're considering releasing adaptor pieces that would easily allow you to swap between peg and slot attachments, adapting weapons to joints that they wouldn't otherwise be compatible with. Upcoming Zoids they're considering include the Dibison Thoma Ver., Iron Kong Schwarz and Command Wolf Irvine. (This almost feels like a given, if the series continues-)
In the recent RMZ preview videos, we learned that Trinity Liger is actually the next RMZ after the previously-announced Saber Tiger Schwarz! This is really exciting, as while we knew of the Trinity's potential in this series from the announcement silhouettes, there are tons of anime Zoids that could've been made before it. It's nice to see video game Zoids being given some priority to run alongside the anime kits, instead of waiting. What we see from the preview looks great, but check out the RMZ Helcat and Molga videos below for a full view of this image.
The Command Wolf Irvine will be following on the heels of Trinity Liger, introducing an iconic anime Zoid! Irvine's Command Wolf always had a degree of respect as a combat Zoid in the original anime, especially compared to later wolves, and if any wolf would look good with the bulkier RMZ design, it's this one. Like the Trinity Liger, this teaser is from the end of the Helcat and Molga videos.
The RMZ Helcat now has an official page on TakaraTomy's RMZ website. As usual, this shows off tons of images of the kit, which is expected to release in late April 2025 for 2,970 yen (roughly $21). We also now know that the Helcat will come with an action stand for different poses. The stand appears to have two connector types and three different pole lengths for more dramatic posing.
The page also shows off a concept art image that contains several interesting details. We see in the concept art that it had a new type of gun mount, but it seems that the team was able to secure this range of motion even with the traditional design, which looks nicer imo. On top of that, the concepts show what the Helcat would look like if it were equipped with boosters from the Gun Sniper. It seems the gun mount still has two pegs on the sides, so if we ever get a Gun Sniper, it might be possible to recreate this concept.
There's also an official page for the RMZ-005 Molga! Tons and tons of images of the kit as well as some concept art showing off the missiles and cockpit. Among the various articulated parts, I was particularly happy to see that the gatling guns on the head are attached to an armor piece that can rotate up and down, making this weapon less of an ankle biting height. While the Molga includes a slot for one, it actually doesn't come with the action stand. You'll need to buy the Helcat if you want a stand for the Molga. This kit is scheduled to be released in late April 2025 for 2,750 yen (roughly $19).
At the end of the recently-released RMZ-003 Command Wolf preview video (see below) TT showed off concept art for the 6th installation of the RMZ line, the RMZ-006 Saber Tiger Schwarz Special! This kit follows RMZ-004 Helcat / Hell Cat and RMZ-005 Molga. More than that, it's our first look at the Saber Tiger platform within the RMZ line. We'd seen silhouettes of what appeared to be the normal Saber Tiger and Great Sabre when the line was first announced, so it's a surprise to get this anime-specific kit jumping the line. Surely welcome, though, as there are lots of anime variants we'd all love to see!
