- Shizuoka Hobby Show!

The Shizuoka Hobby Show is in full swing, revealing a ton of new Zoids products! I've got a number of site updates lined up too, but between this and the months of other official announcement over the past while, it's too much to do in one day, so I'm gonna finish up the official updates first, then trickle in site updates over the next week or two. For now, Dengeki Hobby has posted lots of photos from the event. So let's begin!

- AZ-17 Ultra Saurus!

We knew the Gravity Cannon would be making its way to the Advanced Zi line, but a new AZ-17 Ultra Saurus has also been announced! This will be the standard Ultra Saurus without the Gravity Cannon, and will be a wider public release scheduled to open for pre-orders in July.

- AZ-17DX Ultra Saurus Moonbay Spec.!

Now, the Ultra we've all been waiting for, the Moonbay Spec. (also listed as Gravity Cannon Spec.) has received some additional details! This Zoid will unfortunately be a Takara Tomy Mall exclusive, but don't forget, state-side distributors have been getting these exclusives in recent times as well. This version of the Ultra Saurus will include the Gravity Cannon. Pre-orders are expected to open in July with a release date tentatively scheduled for late February 2027, at the same time as the standard Ultra Saurus. Hobby Japan has some additional photos.

A discussion with the staff mentions this kit's incredible size, measuring about 721mm in length, 379mm in height (a bit taller than an HMM Gojulas), and 392mm in width. The motorized gimmicks are said to carry out the entire firing sequence, including loading the shells (with no actual projectiles, of course.)

- HMM RZ-007 Shield Liger Ver.2.0!

In a shocking turn of events Kotobukiya has announced that they'll be remaking the Shield Liger as an entirely new design! This is the first new mold we've seen in a while, and it's definitely not what anyone was expecting. After all, they'd discussed wanting to focus on new designs instead of remakes back when the Shield Liger DCS-J was announced. It's a pleasant surprise, and opens up a lot of possibilities for their Zoid designs. This redesign in particular fixes many of the aesthetic complaints people had about the old one. The new Liger is far more robust with the blocky design we've come to expect from the first Liger. AmiAmi, Hobby Japan and Yodobashi Hobby posted some additional photos.

- HMM RPZ-14 Salamander F2!

Kotobukiya has announced the Salamander F2, and man is it gorgeous! Featuring stormy silvers, a deep blue canopy, and chrome gold wings, this kit is a perfect follow up to the more tame-colored original release. Yodobashi Hobby has some additional photos.

- HMM Dark Horn Harry Special 2001 Re/Color!

Harry's Dark Horn is joining the HMM lineup of anime kits getting a new release! If the photos are accurate it looks like it'll feature a much more anime-accurate yellow-toned gold than the previous release's orange-gold detailing, along with a paler green interior body frame. This photo by Hobby Japan shows off the color and shine better, and there are some more photos by AmiAmi and Yodobashi Hobby.

- Synergynex Collab: Fangriffon!

Our evil doom kitty from the Code Name B.U.D.D.Y. comic has finally been revealed as an upcoming model kit collaboration! This griffon-type Zoid will feature sleek glossy all-new armor, wings, three-toed paws, and nice translucent armor parts. This is our first look at the Zoid in color, as all appearances in the manga thus far have been in black and white. AmiAmi has some additional photos.

- Synergynex Collab: Wild Liger Zino!

A brand new Monster Hunter collaboration kit has been announced, the Wild Liger Zino! This kit features a radically redesigned model, with entirely new armor that coats almost the entire body themed after Zinogre from Monster Hunter. Keen observers have implied that even some of the body parts, such as the ribs may be knew. AmiAmi has some additional photos.

- Synergynex Collab: Wild Liger Gokuou!

At the same time as the Zino announcement it was revealed that there'll also be a Gokuou version, based on the subspecies of Zinogre from Monster Hunter, Stygian Zinogre.

- RMZ Bio Volcano Announced!

A lineup showing off several of the upcoming RMZ kits had a surprise announcement, the RMZ Bio Volcano! This design looks awesome from what we can see so far, and is expected to release sometime in 2027.

- RMZ-025 Liger Zero Falcon [ZBF] Prototype!

The Liger Zero Falcon featured in the Zoids Battle Films also got a prototype reveal! We've been wondering about this one, since it was announced before several other RMZs were announced with colored prototypes already shown. Another toothy cat with a big grin! There are more photos from Yodobashi Hobby.

- RMZ-024 Storm Sworder Prototype!

Colorless prototypes for the RMZ Storm Sworder were also on display. They depicted the classic folded wing air drop / dive. One thing I particularly appreciated was the curvature of the body joints, creating fluid motion for the diving pose. Pre-orders are expected to open in July. You can view more photos from Yodobashi Hobby.

- RMZ-023 Lightning Saix Irvine Spec. Prototype!

A color prototype of the HMM Lightning Saix / Irvine Spec. was on display at the event. The parts were partially disassembled, giving you a look at both the Irvine armor and the Saix underneath. Pre-orders expected to open in June. It was featured in a video by TT, which Figsoku has some still screenies of.

- RMZ-EX02 Desert Liger!

An RMZ Desert Liger was announced as a new variant to be released at the Shizuoka Hobby Show, where it's currently on sale at the venue. Additional copies are intended to be sold at overseas events, which likely means other areas of Asia such as Hong Kong, similar to the Blade Liger Mirage.

- Zoids CC Pop Up Tour Loft Sale!

While the Zoids Chaotic Century Pop Up Tour concluded its in-store run a while back, they decided to also do a run of products in the online store Loft. This sale has unfortunately already ended, but there were a lot of products to look at, many using the illustrations seen throughout the event printed on products such as acrylic standees. They also released a bunch of cute illustration sketches that'd been considered for the main event, but didn't quite make the cut, and these are definitely worth checking out if you appreciated the cute, wholesome art from before.
