    Imperial Operations, Episode 5

The Gatling Fox began actual operations under the command of the Empire, piloted by Byrne Brad. The Fox was deployed to attack the 18th Transport Unit of the Republic, destroying a bridge that they were building over a canyon to gain access to Imperial territory.

However, after the first successful mission, the fox stalled in the desert. It quickly returned to normal. Then, after the second successful mission it returned to the base. There, the fox began to fight the Z-O visor, temporarily regaining its self control. It attacked a nearby Knuckle Kong in the hangar before the visor was able to seize control once more. Although the Empire couldn't explain why this was happening, as all tests were normal, the fox remained in active duty.

At one point, the Empire and Republic both sought control over a city thought to contain numerous fossilized Zoids. Evenly matched, they waited in a patient standoff. However, when the Empire learned that the Republic had sent for reinforcements, they sent the fox to attack their enemies from behind, hoping to cause confusion and overwhelm them before reinforcements could arrive. Unfortunately, during the attack, the Fox fought for control and deactivated its optical stealth. It attacked its allies in the process of fleeing the area, and escaped.

The Fox didn't stop running until the middle of the night, and as Byrne found himself sitting in the forest next to his Gatling Fox, he was approached by an elderly man. This man told him that the Fox was fighting against the Z-O Visor to regain its free will, and that this was damaging the fox. In this state, the fox was suffering, and Bowman warned Byrne that if it continued to fight the visor, its core would fail and the Zoid would die. In this moment, Byrne chose to abandon the Empire, and allowed Bowman to remove the Fox's visor, so that it could continue to live free.

    Nearly Captured, Episode 10

Byrne offered to help Ed Mais clear Raps Island of Jaminga, only to find out that it had been a trap set up by the Imperial Army to capture the Gatling Fox. Trapped on the island with nowhere to run, Byrne was apprehended, and the Fox moved to the transporter to be put to further use. The Empire planned to strengthen the Z-O Visor, seemingly unaware of the risk this posed to the Gatling Fox, so that it could continue to serve the army. Seeing the Fox leaving on the boat, Byrne struggled free from his captors and jumped into the ocean, swimming to the boat and stealing the fox back. He found a place to hide and hunkered down, where the Fox indicated to him that the man who'd set them up was nearby. Byrne confronted him, but eventually decided it was fruitless. He still had nowhere to run. It was only thanks to Leo and Jo that he was finally able to escape.

    Rescue Mission, Episode 11

When a forest fire broke out, Byrne was asked by the families of a construction crew that was overseeing work on a nearby dam to bring them home safely. He found them in the forest and escorted them back to safety.

Fight Against The Genospino, Episode 12

Byrne joined the combat effort against the Genospino, equipping the Gatling Fox with an Impact Cannon. He was then stationed on one wall of Mosaic, while Leo was stationed across the lane on the other wall. Once the Genospino was in place, they fired at the bottom of each wall, sending them crashing down on the attacking Genospino. Yet, undamaged, the Zoid continued its assault. Byrne was unable to cause any damage with the Fox's weapons, and Leo's Beast Liger was almost torn to pieces.

    Equipment Information

    - 2-Barrelled Sawed-Off Shot Gun

In the anime iteration of the Gatling Fox, the two shot guns on the shoulders are able to retract, making the shoulders completely smooth. When activated (usually during the Evo Blast stage), this panel draws back, revealing two barrels that extend outward.

    - A-Z Infinity Gatling

Gatling Fox's key weapon and namesake. This 6-barrelled gatling gun activates primarily during the use of its Evo Blast, and seems more than capable of handling even larger Zoids such as the Knuckle Kong.

    - Double Buster Rifle

These two double-barrelled rifles are stationed on either side of the Infinity Gatling, and usually used in combination with the Evo Blast. They can extend to the sides, or aim directly forward.

    - Optical Stealth Armor

This unique equipment, combined with the Invisible Bones of the body, allows the Gatling Fox to turn completely invisible. It's thus used for covert operations, sneaking into enemy bases, and attacking enemies without them being able to tell who the attack came from.

    - Multiple Launcher

The Multiple Launcher refers to the Gatling Fox's large tail. The top half of it rises up, revealing 3 slots for ammunition. In the show these fire three flash grenades, blinding nearby enemies so that the fox can either escape or attack. This gives the fox roughly 30 seconds to act, but can be circumvented by turning off the exterior monitors.

    Profile:
The Gatling Fox is a fox-type Zoid with an optical camouflage system. It utilizes full body optical stealth armor alongside an invisible bone frame with the optical camouflage function, so it's good at covert behaviors and intelligence gathering operations.

The Multiple Launcher on its tail fires various shells depending on the combat situation, including flash grenades and flares.

Its Evo Blast deploys the A-Z Infinity Gatling on the back and the 2-Barrelled Buster Rifle forward, firing bullets while rotating the gatling at a high speed. The Phantom Gatling can turn an enemy into a honeycomb of holes.
