History

Youth, Episode 49

When Prozen was younger he still held a decent amount of power in the Empire. He lead an entire unit to acquire an Organoid capsule that'd been found by the Republican Army. Upon arriving he threatened Dan Freiheit, Bang's father with destroying the Wind Colony (Dan's home) if they didn't hand over the capsule. While Dan agreed, his colleague did not, instead setting the Organoid (Shadow) free. Prozen ordered Hardin, who was driving their jeep to race after the Organoid. He didn't want to let it out of their sights. This greed saved his life. Moments later, Dan Freiheit charged his Command Wolf into the attacking platoon and obliterated them all, as well as himself. Had Prozen stayed to menace the unit further, he'd have likely been involved in the blast.

First Appearance, Episode 7

When Prozen first appeared he was ordering Karl Schwarz to lead the Empire in an attack against the Republic at Red River. He insisted that the Empire were the rightful rulers of Europa and that the Republic were nothing but usurpers. Though Schwarz agreed, he believed it was a mistake to attack first. Prozen insisted he'd be held responsible for whatever happened.

That being said, he recognized that Schwarz wasn't the man for this job. He turned instead to his subordinate, Marcus, who was eager to improve his career. He lamented that Schwarz was too inflexible, and promised to promote Marcus to Major after the war while being careful not to give any particular specifics. This prompted Marcus to attack the Empire side with a stolen Pteras, making it seem as if the Republic had started the fighting. Unfortunately, Schwarz ultimately retreated, rather than staying to fight.

The Saber Tiger, Episode 12

Prozen deployed Raven ahead of Marcus's unit to clear out a battalion of 30 sleeper Guysacks, allowing the Empire to continue advancing even in the limited visibility of a sand storm.

Kronos Fortress, Episode 13

According to Marcus, Prozen changed their original plans for his and Karl's unit to take on Kronos Fortress together, which may have resulted in a ceasefire. Instead, they were ordered to separate. Marcus to fight at Kronos, and Karl to march ahead to Mt. Ossa. By dividing their forces the fight would look more achievable to the Republic, and they'd be less inclined to surrender. This played into Prozen's plan of destroying the Republic, which he wouldn't be able to do if they agreed to peaceful terms. Instead he instigated these fights. He had, at first, also ordered Marcus to offer support to Raven, who was handling all of the sleeper Zoids in the area, but Marcus ignored these commands and instead could've killed Raven, had Raven not fought a rematch with Bang elsewhere.

Invasion of New Helic City, Episode 16 ~

Acting as an admiral, Prozen lead two camouflaged battleships towards New Helic City, disguised as giant icebergs. When Rob came to investigate, his Pteras unit was shot down, and jamming snow was deployed to prevent communication and thereby stop him from delivering early warning of the attack. Meanwhile, Karl Schwarz and Marcus continued their advance on land, distracting the Republic's forces. He was following the ailing Emperor Zeppelin's orders, who wanted to see the rebels all wiped out before his demise.

Guylos Empire Invasion, Episode 18

When Prozen's fleet landed on the coast of New Helic City, he proposed a cease fire to the president. This was a vicious offer, contingent on the Republic's unconditional surrender, the disarmament of their forces, and the forfeiture of all civilian assets and civil rights. Her people would live, but with nothing left. He gave a tight deadline of only four hours to make a decision, then leaned back and relaxed as the timer ran out. Of course, he knew this was an impossible decision, but he genuinely didn't care. He wanted to see the Republic fall. Unfortunately, Emperor Zeppelin's untimely death left Rudolph, the young prince calling the shots for a brief period of time. His first act was to order Prozen to withdraw his forces, which infuriated the admiral.

Conspiracy, Episode 19

With Emperor Zeppelin having passed away, Prozen was appointed as Regent until Rudolph was old enough to take the throne. He intended to instead take full control of the Empire, and arranged for Metternich and his group to assassinate Rudolph while he was traveling to his grandfather's funeral. When the Command Wolves he gave them to use for the assassination, meant to make it look like the murder had been committed by the Republic were shot down by a bandit group the plan failed. Rudolph was kidnapped by the same group, leaving Prozen frustrated.

A New Weapon, Episode 20~

Prozen gave Raven a new Zoid to replace his Saber Tiger, the state-of-the-art Geno Saurer. While Prozen sent out search parties looking for the missing crowned prince, he simultaneously asked Raven to shoot them down, ensuring that their efforts would yield no results.

Reassurances, Episode 22

Prozen reassured Homalev that he'd deployed all resources available to the Empire to find and return the crowned prince, delaying any additional efforts.

The Imperial Ring, Episode 26

When Metternich returned the ring to Prozen, claiming he'd killed Rudolph, Prozen knew it was a lie. It didn't matter, though. He was growing impatient. He announced to the heads of staff that an elite unit from the Republic had infiltrated imperial territory and that by the time they got there, it was simply too late. He claimed he would take over as the emperor, as per Emperor Zeppelin's wishes, and declared the start of the Prozen Dynasty. He demanded respect, and ignored the blatant objections of Homalev at the others.

Ebenei Air Base, Episode ~ 29

Ebenei Air Base once had just two Redlers, but under Prozen's control its fleet was rapidly expanded to dozens of Redlers, all upgraded with powerful armaments to become a new cohesive air unit. Their purpose was to fight against 'rebel' forces. Ralph, the leader at the base was grateful for these improvements, and continued to serve Prozen thereafter.

The Death Saurer's Awakening, Episode 32

Prozen was noted to dedicate a substantial amount of resources to the investigation of ancient ruins, and had even converted one into a secret research laboratory. It was considered a high security military zone. When Bang went there without hesitation, he was happy to meet the boy head on, informing him that he'd known his father. He lamented that no matter who you are in the world, you'll always cause pain to other people, and used this to justify his actions by comparing it to Bang's own father killing countless people on the battlefield.

In the middle of their discussion, the ruin rumbled. The Death Saurer had awoken, sensing the presence of an Ancient Zoidian, Fine. As soon as Prozen realized what she was, he kidnapped the girl. It's unclear what his plan was for her in this scenario, but she was rescued rather promptly by Bang. Driving a Zoid through the wall of a hangar does give one some advantage, after all. While the two of them fled, the Death Saurer broke out of its containment and killed the surrounding Zoids, vaporizing even the Empire's own units. Once it settled down, it was transferred to a second lab while Prozen was left staring at the crater where his former research facility had once stood.

Rise of the Death Saurer, Episode 33 ~ 34

When Homalev, one of the higher ups of the Empire sheltered crowned Prince Rudolph, Prozen's people spun the story that Rudolph was an imposter who Homalev schemed to place on the throne in order to take over the Empire. With the army fighting at Homalev Castle the other ministers strongly urged Prozen to postpone the coronation, but he only argued that more imposters could show up.

Eventually, Rudolph himself showed at the coronation. At this point, it was too late. Prozen argued that only those with power had a right to rule, and he came prepared to back up that statement. He rushed to the Death Saurer as it rose from the stage, taking his position not in the cockpit, but on the Zoid's shoulder. While the Death Saurer rampaged, firing at Zoids of both armies, Prozen conducted its actions from the shoulder, somehow avoiding being shot by the countless bombardments. Fine believed that he was possessed by the evil spirit of the Zoid.

As the battle raged on he took note of the Blade Liger, informing Bang that he'd known his father, having fought him over an Organoid years before. Though his attempts to throw off Bang's focus were nearly successful, the boy's friends showed up to offer their support. The fight continued. Two Gojulas units were used to hold the Death Saurer in place in hopes that Storm Sworders could fire spears into the particle intake fan, theoretically stopping the particle cannon from functioning. Both were decapitated by the Saurer's lasers. Karl Schwarz used his own Iron Kong's arm to jam the Death Saurer, punching through the leg piping and leaving the severed limb behind. In doing so, he stalled it just long enough. Bang charged the monstrous Zoid. At the last second, the particle fan dislodged its obstructions and whirred to life. Yet, the Blade Liger survived the subsequent blast. In the same way that he was able to defeat Raven's Geno Saurer before, Bang was able to defeat the Death Saurer, breaking through the core chamber. It was presumed that Prozen had died in the resulting blast.

Guardian Force "The Dark Kaiser"

Reappearance, Episode 49

Prozen reappeared in a mysterious form, seemingly absorbed into the core of the Death Saurer. He was revealed to be working with Hiltz and Rease, as their leader, and when they brought Raven back to him he insisted that Raven could never escape his past, nor him. He enlisted him to once again act as his soldier.

Shadow, Episode 64

When Raven and Rease came to the cavern of the Dark Kaiser, supposedly the path to Zoid Eve they were shocked to see him gone. However, he appeared in a flash of light. Strangely, in spite of knowing both individuals he expressed that there was no need to introduce themselves. He was adamant that he was no longer Prozen, but had instead shed his human form to evolve into a new, far superior being, the Dark Kaiser.

When the two inquired about Shadow he had no qualms showing them the Organoid capsule that Shadow was being revived in. He invited Raven to once again try to take the Organoid, only insinuated that Shadow might not agree. When Shadow awoke, the Dark Kaiser revealed that Shadow had been revived as his loyal servant. That he'd forgotten all memories of Raven. The Organoid's behavior towards Raven was no better than a feral animal, and the Dark Kaiser only laughed as Specular, Rease's Organoid, tried to fight off the out-of-control Organoid.

The Gates Of Zoid Eve, Episode 65

As soon as Raven managed to retame Shadow, the Dark Kaiser knocked the Organoid out with a pulse. Moments later, Fine appeared in the cavern. When she demanded to know what'd happened to them he simply shrugged them off as garbage. The Dark Kaiser admitted that while he used to be the man named Prozen, he'd now evolved into a greater being, the supreme ruler of Planet Zi, the Dark Kaiser. He reacted to Fine's insistence that he was still human with immediate violence, using the pulse of his shield to harm her, too. She soon came to realize that he was encased in the core of the Death Saurer.

As part of the cavern collapsed, revealing the gates to the ancient city of Eveopolis, the Dark Kaiser took control of Fine's mind. He walked her to the gates, imploring her to open them as it seemed that they only opened when she spoke her name (Fine.) As they entered Eveopolis he revealed his true goal: To have her awaken Zoid Eve and thereby revive his ancient body (the ultimate Death Saurer.) After all, what was the purpose of being the ultimate Zoid core without the ultimate body to inhabit.

His plans were challenged when Fine entered the Zoid Eve console area. It seemed that somehow this protected her from the Dark Kaiser's abilities. She expressed that she'd shut down the Zoid Eve, putting an end to the senseless violence that had possessed Planet Zi for so many years. Prozen wasn't so sure. He proposed that the Ancient Zoidians would never survive without their Zoids.

Eveopolis, Episode 66

The Dark Kaiser continued to balk at Fine's convictions to shut down Zoid Eve. As he approached the body of the Death Saurer, claiming to be drawn to it he was confronted by Rease and Raven. He set three Geno Saurers upon Raven, distracting Rease without much issue. When the Zoid Eve was awakened by a stray shot hitting the console area he knew it was his time to awaken. He expressed his plans to rule over the entire world.

Yet, just as the Death Stinger appeared, ordered to offer itself to the Death Saurer, the Death Saurer's core began expanding, consuming what was left of Prozen. Hiltz mocked his foolishness in assuming he'd be chosen, insisting that Prozen was merely a host body to protect its Zoid Core. Even as the Dark Kaiser insisted on being the Death Saurer itself, Hiltz argued that the Death Saurer could only be controlled by an Ancient Zoidian, one such as himself. Prozen was completely consumed by the Death Saurer's core, and never heard of again past this point.

Abilities as the Dark Kaiser

  • Teleportation: The ability to disappear and reappear in a different location as well as to teleport others. He claimed to have brought Fine to the Valley of the Rare Hertz, and if this is true he's likely the one who teleported the Death Stinger as well, which had vanished at the same time.

  • Mind Reading: As the Dark Kaiser he claimed to be able to read people's innermost thoughts, and said so when he told Rease and Raven that they had no need to introduce themselves.

  • Telepathic Communication: Possibly tied to the mind control, the Dark Kaiser was able to call the Death Stinger back to Eveopolis.

  • Mind Control: The Dark Kaiser exhibited some mind control abilities when he took control of Fine, imploring her to open the gates to Eveopolis, the ancient city and location of the Zoid Eve.

  • Barriers: The strange panels all over the Dark Kaiser's body are evidently some form of energy field. Once activated they glow white, creating a barrier that can shock and repel attackers. In this case Raven. They're also seen to simply create shockwaves to throw people back.

  • Organoid Revival? Reprogramming This ability is a lot more ambiguous and isn't confirmed to come from Prozen (the Dark Kaiser) himself, nor to be an actual ability (it could be technological), but since it's such a rare case, it was worth including. After Shadow's death he was teleported to the Dark Kaiser, and ended up in an Organoid capsule to be revived. Up until this point it wasn't even known that the Organoids themselves could be resurrected, and in the process of that revival Shadow was also 'reprogrammed' to be the Dark Kaiser's loyal servant, as well as to forget all memories of Raven.
