HMM Wild Liger!

We have some exciting new updates for the HMM Wild Liger! In lieu of colored product photos, Kotobukiya has set up the Wild Liger page with some high-detail CG images. They have assured us that the CG images, however, all use poses that are 100% possible with the physical model. HMM Wild Liger is scheduled to release in August, for 8,800 yen. Ordering from Kotobukiya Direct will get you the Z Caps Freedom Blue Ver.

There's also a LABO Article discussing the kit, and what we can expect!

Liger Details:
 ●The kit is 1/35 scale.
●The colors are based on the anime-version, including tail tip, rib color, etc.
●The joint caps and eyes will use clear parts.
●It will include a Zoid Core.
●The tail is split into 7 different sections, on a 3mm axis joint for maximum articulation.
●Many of the pose images are based on anime-specific scenes.
●The eyes are on a vertical axis and can be rotated forwards and backwards.
●The eye direction can be reversed to reveal a 3mm hole for the Wild Blast attachment.
●HMM Wild Liger has roughly 350 parts.

Arashi Details:
●The included Arashi pilot also has alternative parts for the Wild Blast.
●A 9mm Zoid Key is included and can actually be jammed into the Wild Liger's neck.
●The fully painted Arashi figure is one of the big contributors to the Liger's price.
●Arashi comes with 3 parts: Normal Head, Wild Blast Head, and body.
●Some details have been excluded from the painted figure (Freedom badge, etc.) but are included as decals.

Other Details:
●August will have no other Zoids/Rereleases, so users can afford the Liger more easily.

CoroCoro Limited: Liger The Arthur!

News on Liger The Arthur is ramping up! CoroCoro posted an article with some cool new images of the kit, and Zoids Official posted a spread from the recent issue of CoroCoro Comic! Liger the Arthur will be available as a mail-in purchase using the applicable postcard from CoroCoro Comic. It will cost 4,600 yen and will be limited to the first 12,000 orders.

So, what options are available to overseas users? While we've found one service willing to attempt the mail-in order, it would come at an additional $20 fee, and from what I can find most services that would try also have added fees. With mail already backing up on a global scale, the best bet for overseas buyers seems to be to wait for its release and use Yahoo Japan. The markup of such limited kits is usually around $10-$20 anyway, so you can avoid the hassle. Some services are offering extended warehouse storage due to these trying times, and if you use Celga, although it is manual and slower to purchase and get updates from, they have free unlimited storage. So you could have them hold your item indefinitely while we weather these difficult circumstances.

ZW42 Kill Scythe!

TakaraTomy has announced the next new Zoid, the Kill Scythe! We've been seeing a lot of this little guy in the new Zero anime OP, various commercials and WIPs, etc. but we finally have some data. Kill Scythe is a small-scale windup kit that will be released on May 23rd for 1,500 yen. You can view it and its box art on the TakaraTomy Mall, its info page on TakaraTomy's Official Website, and a DHM article which includes a couple of additional photos. We've also added its data to the model kit section!

A mantis-type Zoid that specializes in close-range combat. Although it has low offensive strength on its own, it's an army-type unit that becomes a threat against large Zoids when it attacks in a group. When it falls into a dying state, it drops the powerful time bomb on its stomach on the enemy. At the command of the Captain's machine, they release their Machine Blast all at once and attach to the enemy, tearing apart the enemy's armor with the electromagnetic scythe and the chainsaw knife.

Excavation Site Center of Continent, Forest Zone
Most of the time they had dropped their time bombs before becoming fossilized, but in rare cases they can be found with them still attached. Since these cases require careful attention, the excavation takes twice as long.

Wild Blast: Kill Crush
Length: 4.2 m
Height: 3.3 m
Weight: 9.2 tons
Max Speed: 175 km/h
IQ: 90
Equipment: Chainsaw Knife, Electromagnetic Scythe, Shield Wing, Smoke Discharger, Time Bomb, Twin Radar Antenna

A short commercial for the new expansion also shows off this Zoid.

HMM Geno Saurer Repackage Updates!  [Official]

Kotobukiya has published on article on the HMM Geno Saurer Repackage Ver., revealing its brand new box art! This is a beautiful image depicting the aftermath of the Geno Saurer's test battle, which funny enough, we just covered in Official Fan Book 2. This was a suitable scene to choose for a mass rerelease of the original kit. "Mass produce the Geno Saurer immediately."

The LABO article shows two other concepts for the box art. The pose sketches depict a scene based on the original motorized kit's box art, and a second scene featuring the Geno Saurer standing in front of the large core capsule, thought to contain the missing piece of the Organoid System. Also from Fan Book 2! A tweet from one of Kotobukiya's shops has a much larger photo of the box art. A final footnote of the article mentions that their next post will be about the Wild Liger~

Zoids Wild Kit Updates!  [Official]

Omega Rex has just released, so we've got a fair amount of content for it. First off is the build video, showing the full construction process. Second is a for fun video posted by TakaraTomy Toys. Last but not least, we have a new commercial for the Zoid! The commercial shows the upcoming Kill Scythes, mantis-type Zoids.

TakaraTomy Toys also just posted a video of the Sonic Bird's basic walk cycle. It's interesting how the wings move with each step!

CoroCoro Limited: Liger The Arthur!  [Official]

We've seen a bit more of Liger The Arthur! Aside from appearing in the BCH commercial (below), we also saw an article from CoroCoro, which showed a profile image and one of the new images from CoroCoro Comic. We're still waiting to hear more about the application process.

Interestingly, we received a couple of concept sketches from Moritya, the designer of the Arthur and the manga artist for Zoids Wild and Zoids Wild 2. He showed us 2 different concepts for potential ligers. Liger The Arthur was shown with a giant metallic silver lance ((Purification??) Gungnir), and matt dark blue armor. The second concept, Galaxy Liger, showed a Light Saber type Beam Sword, metallic silver equipment, clear light blue armor, red clear visor, and white matt secondary armor.

New Purchase Campaign!  [Official]

Starting on March 28th, fans who buy 3,000 yen or more worth of Zoids Wild products at participating stores will receive one of three random customize weapons.

During April (and most of March) (3/28 ~ 4/25), users will receive 1 random weapon from the Command Attack Unit Silver Titanium Ver. They can receive the Bone Blade, Grinder Cutter, or Panzer Faust. During March (starting 4/25), they can receive 1 random weapon from the same weapons unit, instead having a chance to win the Arc Knife, Auto Saw, or Square Shield. If users purchase 3,000 yen or more worth of items during both of the campaign periods, they'll receive one additional (random) item: The Mega Lance, Wing Cutter, or Attachment Frame.

So where can you get these? There are no stores (to my knowledge) that offer guarantees. However, amiami appears to be the most likely to send out purchase campaign benefits. While HLJ occasionally gives out campaign benefits, it is usually a part of their own campaigns, and not a part of the original purchase campaign. Otherwise, keep an eye out on Yahoo Japan, etc.!

ZW Battle Card Hunter Updates!  [Official]

Zoids Wild Battle Card Hunter has announced a new limited-time boss battle, the Stylaser Red Fort, which is only obtainable for Sebuka card users starting from March 12th. They also announced the Beast Liger Optical Camouflage Spec., as a limited boss from March 19th. The April issue of CoroCoro comes with a limited Liger The Arthur card, with special art drawn by Moritya, the manga artist. Last but not least, the latest CoroCoro Aniki comes with a special Blade Liger BCH card, using art by Ueyama!

- Zoids Coloring Pages

Strangey, the BCH site also posted a couple of coloring pages as a PDF. A Zoids coloring book would be nice to have! But these are neat in the mean time.

- A New Expansion Looms!

They've also recently announced the next expansion, based on Zoids Wild Zero! This expansion also includes cards of Liger The Arthur, which we see a little bit more of in the new commercial! The commercial illustrates a new collectable card style, SP cards that are strung together in a line, creating a sprawling scene. I've always been a fan of connecting card art, and this is beautifully done. They've made mentions of a story for these cards, so it'll be interesting to see how that develops. It's possible they're just referring to the scene that the cards themselves illustrate.

- 3rd Great Treasure Excavation Event!

Although we currently lack official images, the third Great Treasure Excavation Event has been announced! This time, the limited (150 released) Zoid will be the Rising Liger Ruby, and the more common (1000 released) runner up prize will be the Gravity Cannon Unit Clear Red Ver.

HMM Dibison Marking Plus Ver.!!  [Official]

Kotobukiya has announced a reissue of the Dibison, in the form of a Dibison Marking Plus Ver.! Like other Marking Plus variations, it contains new decals, a standard pilot, and clear colorless parts in addition to the standard color. It will also contain a new silver color for the horns and hooves, based on the silver used for the Gojulas Gunner. It is scheduled to release in July, for a retail price of 9,800 yen, but you can find it cheaper in your online store of choice.

To set this Zoid apart, the Dibison is using the old registration number, RBOZ-006 instead of RZ-031. The decal set is the same as the Saber Tiger, with the exception of the Republican logos and registration numbers (which include both RBOZ and RZ designations.) You can read all about it in Kotobukiya's LABO article.

- HMM Model Kit Reissues

Aside from Dibison, Kotobukiya also announced a few reissues for July. This includes the Iguan (4,200 Yen), which is seeing its first ever reissue, along with the Gojulas Cannon Set Customize Parts (4,800 Yen) and the Berserk Führer Repackage (8,800 yen). There are no physical differences between this Repackage and the last one released, but Kotobukiya decided to reissue it so soon because of how fast it sold out the last time. It will supposedly include some decals that were missed the last time, though.

As a final footnote, Kotobukiya mentioned that they'll soon be making more progress on the prototype (Wild Liger) displayed at Wonder Festival last month.

Zoids official has posted a new Zoids Wild custom, the Sniptera Bomber Spec.! This one sadly doesn't include any concept art, but it does have another post dedicated to the WIP stage, which shows off the different parts.

My Zoids Contest 2020 Results!  [Site]

TakaraTomy has posted the results of the My Zoid Contest 2020! There are many amazing entries in this contest, and if you frequent twitter you'll be seeing tons of people post their works right about now. It's great to see so many customizers come together for this. The site still has the main page for the contest up as well, featuring the prize list.

CoroCoro Limited: Liger The Arthur!  [Official]

This month's issue of CoroCoro announced an interesting Zoid: A Rising Liger variation called Liger The Arthur. They also posted an article showing off the full image for it on their website!

The Arthur is a limited kit obtained through a "paid service", scheduled around the May issue of CoroCoro. The closest comparison for this seems to be the Black Rhimos and Bearfighter from the NJR, where people could mail in their forms from CoroCoro to purchase the kits. Although, it's worth noting that back in the day, these kits weren't listed as "Limited", and were available to all who submitted an application. We don't know yet how limited the Arthur will be, or if Limited simply means "limited to everyone who submits an application, during the relevant time" which is certainly a possibility.

When it was first announced, we speculated that this might refer to the Pal-Shop, also known as CoroCoro Premier (Shogakukan's mail-order site). However, after comparing the double page spread to the one where the Death Rex Purple Dragon Form was announced for rerelease (in the same shop), this seems unlikely. The Rex made multiple direct references to CoroCoro Premier, including photos of the shop. If this were going to be the outlet used, it seems likely that it would specify this clearly, as they did before. At the moment, it may end up being an actual physical mail-order item.

On a positive note, Arthur has a lot of additional parts! This includes a basic Rising Liger with silver armor, blue secondary armor, and blue caps. The Liger also includes a new armored visor, a huge lance-like weapon on the back, new tail armor, new paw armor, etc. We'll post more as we get more information!

- CoroCoro Translation

A special Liger with the [???] of a proud knight!!
A super-limited new Liger that merges a Zoid with the strength and figure of a "knight" that fought in the Middle Ages!! Its armour and weapons give rise to a new storm!! Wait for entries to open in the May issue!!

Zoids development team comments: If you take Zoids, which are mecha + lifeforms, and add the coolness of armoured knights... A Liger even greater than expected has been born!!

An Evo Blast gimmick that pierces everything...!?
Its body uses the strongest materials in history...!?

The next issue will contain a special manga featuring Liger The Arthur!!

A new Coro Coro limited Zoid will be offered as a limited-quantity paid service for applicants in the May issue!! Liger The Arthur sets out for the front!!

We've learned that a new Liger with new parts and new colours will be sold as a Coro Coro limited! It's a super masterpiece that fans and even beginners will definitely want to obtain!

* Translations were done by Falcarius! Thank you! Because some characters were not visible in the source image, there are a couple of words missing. These will be updated as soon as a personal copy of CoroCoro has been received.

ZW40 Gravity Cannon Unit!  [Official]

Today, TakaraTomy revealed the source of the brown Bone Blade (mistakenly referred to earlier as the Horn Blade) we saw. It comes from the brand new Gravity Cannon Unit and the Dash Breaker Unit. These weapon sets include a series of brand new weapons in a bronze color, and a complete rerelease of the earlier weapon sets in black instead of silver.

The Gravity Cannon Unit is scheduled to release on March 28th for 1,100 yen and comes with the equipment listed below. It contains "new weapons" (previously released at WHF in silver, but not in a wide public release) and "rerelease" weapons, which are from the Buster Radar Unit. The Buster Radar Unit originally came in silver, so these weapons sport a new black coloring.

ZW39 Sonic Bird!  [Official]

When the Dash Breaker Unit went up on the TakaraTomy Mall, they slipped in two cheeky teaser images. These images featured a brand new type of Archeopteryx Zoid, featured wearing the weapons unit. This Zoid is the ZW39 Sonic Bird, scheduled for release in late April.

TakaraTomy Toys over on Twitter also posted some teaser images of the default Zoid, giving us a great look at it. Although it uses the Gilraptor body there's an extraordinary number of new parts, including fully foldable wings, and arm pegs that've been repurposed as gun mounts.

ZW38 Omega Rex!  [Official]

The Omega Rex has shown up on the TakaraTomy Mall, scheduled for a March 28th release for 7,700 yen (tax included)! On a fun note it seems that the Rex's particle cannon, which we've known about for a while, uses a stunning green color. It'll be interesting to see how it is used in the show, whenever it shows up. CoroCoro also has a page showing off a new diorama style image, citing the particle cannon as a weapon that can blow up an entire city in just one blast.

- Omega Rex White Fortress Ver.

CoroCoro has posted a new article showing off the Omega Rex White Fortress Ver. It shows the particle gun charging up and being used. These images are for the silver peel, which is essentially a scratch off that buyers of CoroCoro can mail in for a chance to win. Like most other CoroCoro limiteds, it'll be limited to 100 kits total.
