Raps Island was a location that housed countless Raptor fossils. Around the time that humans settled on the planet once more, the Empire and the Republic fought for control of the sight. However, over time, the island was excavated of all it (seemingly) had to offer. The island was ultimately abandoned aside from those working on the dig side, and over time, funds ran out and the project was only continued by the most dedicated.
Imperial Army Spec. Raptors were part of an Imperial Army unit in a stand off against the Republic. Both sides were seeking control over a city region thought to contain numerous Zoid fossilized Zoids, which made it a valuable research site. The Empire tried to use the Gatling Fox to distract the Republic so that the Empire forces could attack before reinforcements arrived, but the fox lost control and disrupted the fight. It is not known what happened after that.
Several Raptors took part in the defense of Zagato Base, an Imperial research location, when Leo's group unleashed a group of Jaminga on the base. Most were defeated.
A group of at least four Raptors, along with one Cannon Bull pursued Sally Land along with Buzz, Leo, and Jo. Although they nearly captured them, with one raptor pouncing on their cargo trailer, the trailer was disconnected, knocking the pursuing raptors down. A bad sand storm caused them to lose track of the group afterwards.
Two Raptors were part of a unit consisting of them, two Dimepulsar, and one Scorpear. They intended to claim an abandoned aircraft carrier that had just recently been claimed in the name of the Republic, but were defeated by Leo's Beast Liger.
When the Empire discovered that Byrne Blood, a pilot who went AWOL with the Empire's state-of-the-art Gatling Fox might be in the area, they set a trap on Raps Island. A deal was struck with a local archeologist who was excavating the island. They offered to fund his dig for a while if he could lure Byrne to the island, which he did by asking him for help clearing out some Jaminga so that he could continue his dig. Once on the island, the bridge leading to it was destroyed, and the Gatling Fox was trapped.
Rather than rely purely on their heavy hitters in the rocky terrain, they unleashed a group of at least eight Raptors (Imperial Army Spec.) onto the island. They immediately began to comb every corner of it. They found and managed to disable the Gatling Fox with the help of the unit's Stylaser. The Fox was captured, but soon escaped back onto the island. Once more, Raptors were sent to hunt it down. It didn't take long, and this time, the Fox stood its ground and fought against the unit's Stylaser and two Bazootles. Unfortunately, the battle was interrupted by Leo and Jo, and after some of the Zoids were defeated, the Fox's flash flares were used to help the group escape.
Eight Raptors appeared in the Genospino unit, and accompanied it while it marched toward Neo Helic. This unit was treated as a rogue operation that broke off from the Imperial Army, and the Empire denied any alliance to it, effectively washing their hands of blame.
