History

First Appearance, Episode 29

Ralph first appeared as what seems to be the commander of Ebenei Air Base, running a large Redler force under the command of Regent Prozen. At this point the unit already had roughly 40 Redlers, and were expecting more, all for the purpose of handling rebel territories. Ever grateful for the huge boon to Ebenei Air Base, Ralph loyally followed Prozen's orders, and tried to urge Karl Schwarz to learn to respect their new ruler.

When reports came in about rebels near the base, including an imposter of the crowned prince, Rudolph, Ralph scrambled his Redler unit. Rudolph himself aired the base, and though he was recognized by Schwarz immediately, Ralph erred towards Prozen's side. He had Schwarz apprehended, and ordered the Redlers to continue their attack, intent on killing Rudolph. Eventually Schwarz threw aside the men holding him and smashed the self destruct button for the base. Given all key characters survived it seems the base was able to be evacuated, but it was destroyed. The air assault on Rudolph was also thwarted by Rosso and Viola in their new Storm Sworders.

The Three Guards, Episode 31

Ralph and Mueller set out to hire the Three Guards, elite but retired Saber Tiger pilots to assist in killing the 'imposter' Rudolph. Though they agreed under the terms that they fight the unit alone, they took advantage of the Blade Liger already being damaged and attacked in the middle of the fight. Their Black Redlers were shot down by Wagner, who wouldn't have them interfering in an honorable battle.

Assassination Attempt, Episode 34

When the Storm Sworders showed up to help Rudolph escape Hardin's siege on Homalev Castle, Ralph continued his efforts to kill the so-called imposter prince. One of the Storm Sworders had picked him up and were in the process of transporting him to Guygalos to interrupt Prozen's coronation. Though Ralph pursued in his Black Redler, he was defeated once more by Rosso, who lectured him for relying too heavily on his Zoid's abilities.

Guardian Force

Return, Episode 45

When Ralph returned, he and his subordinate, Mueller snuck their way into Dragonhead Base, where they were testing the new state-of-the-art Storm Sworder Stealth. Ralph was smuggled under a tarp so as not to be recognized. They were there under orders by Hiltz. Ralph explained that 'rebels' (still adhering to Prozen's definition) had taken the Eisenbeck unit's territory, and lamented that nobody in the Empire would help them, implying that he really didn't care who's side they were on at this point. In this case, Hiltz's.

Though they claimed that they'd been ordered to mobilize the Storm Sworders, Hermann caught this lie immediately. He held them at gun point, only to be attacked by Ambient. They seized the opportunity and launched the Sworders, immediately taking out their own Black Redler unit so that their stealth Zoids couldn't be tracked due to them.

There was a hitch in their plan, however. The Storm Sworders hadn't been installed with proper command options, leaving them stuck with Redler munitions. They needed to return to steal the combat data. When they did, the Storm Sworders made quick work of some of the Zoids standing in their way. However, gun shots from the ground rained fluorescent paint down on the jet-black Zoids. They became beacons in the night sky. Mueller was taken down, and Ralph faced off against Rosso, the same man who'd defeated him during Prozen's rebellion.

Ralph, confident in his state-of-the-art machine eagerly accepted the chance to prove that he was better than Rosso. Unfortunately, he still relied too heavily on his Zoid's abilities. Rosso defeated him just like he had the first time.
