E14: Road Around Mount Ossa Crater |
Bang Freiheit and Moonbay traveled to the top of Mt. Ossa to get Zoid Magnite for Sieg, Bang's Organoid who'd been severely injured in his battle against Raven. The magnite could be located around the interior of the caldera. They were able to safely retrieve it, but the volcano, being rather temperamental, erupted and almost fried them in the process.
During the invasion of the Empire Mt. Ossa erupted. By this point the enemy Zoids had already flooded into Mt. Ossa Fortress, and with the impending natural disaster many of their combat systems froze, the Zoids themselves fleeing. When the volcano fully erupted Mt. Ossa Fortress was destroyed.
Though not outright confirmed to be Mt. Ossa, the Death Stinger passed a volcano on its way to New Helic City. The Republic had intended to bomb the ground around it, submerging it in the magma tunnels beneath the ground. Before they could carry out this plan the Death Stinger dug into the ground itself. It proved that it could withstand the temperatures of the magma, and used the magma tubes as a means to travel directly underneath of New Helic City. When it emerged, the streets filled with lava.

E17: Medical Center of Mount Ossa Base |
Irvine showed up at Mt. Ossa base claiming to have been sent by Dr. D. He intended to fight Raven's Saber Tiger, and was loaned the Multiple Missile Diffusion System (Command Wolf SM upgrade), which was being developed for the Gojulas. Though the staff felt that the equipment was far too heavy for a Command Wolf, it proved effective against the Saber Tiger, even if Irvine ultimately lost.
When the fortress came under attack by the Imperial Army, the base mobilized the Zoid Gojulas, a massive mech upgraded with two giant cannons. The Gojulas obliterated many of the enemy Zoids, and their leader, Karl Schwarz, ordered a retreat rather than face the unexpected terror. Unfortunately, the pilot of the Gojulas, Rob Hermann, was rather inexperienced and toppled the Gojulas just as soon as the enemy had fled.
After it was discovered that the Empire's main forces would be arriving by sea instead of by land the choice was made by Krueger to abandon the Mt. Ossa base. As he put it, there'd be no point in fighting to defend the base if New Helic City fell anyway. He ordered the immediate evacuation of the facility, and though he intended to stay behind he was kidnapped by Moonbay and Fine. When he failed to make them return him to the base he asked that they use their Pteras to bomb the caldera of Mt. Ossa, forcing an eruption. He believed that the natural disaster would override the Zoid's combat systems, causing them to flee. They eventually succeeded in making the volcano erupt. It panned out exactly as Krueger had planned: The combat systems of the enemy Zoids froze, they fled, and the Mt. Ossa Fortress was destroyed.
