  • When the Gojulas first rebuffed the Imperial Army's advance, New Helic City held a parade to celebrate their victory. This parade featured Gojulas-themed floats.
  • The anime depiction of New Helic City is heavily themed on American architecture, with the capital building seemingly based on the White House and one of the other key buildings potentially based on a hybridization of the Empire State Building and Chrysler Building.

- History

Escaped Prisoner Attack, Episode 16

An escaped prisoner was almost lynched by the citizens of New Helic City before he was rescued by Bang Freiheit. He ran, and in his attempt to escape the city he stole one of the reinforced Command Wolves standing in the hangar. He attacked the Republican Army Zoids who showed up to stop him, causing substantial damage to the city and injuring some of the civilians. He was taken down outside the city by Bang Freiheit, who once again let him escape.

Approaching Threat, Episode 16

Rob Hermann set out with a Pteras unit to investigate two suspicious icebergs that were making their way directly towards the city. They realized that the icebergs had oil surrounding them, but jamming snow drifting down from the sky jammed their communications, keeping them from reporting the suspicious structures before they were shot down.

Near War, Episode 18

Though the Republic was able to defeat the Empire's land invasion by sacrificing the Mt. Ossa Fortress, they still had a fairly sizable threat from the sea to deal with. When Imperial Regent Prozen approached President Camford about a ceasefire agreement, he stated that he'd only spare the civilians on the terms of an unconditional surrender, disarmament of their military forces, surrender of all civilian assets and rights, etc. This was an absolutely horrific demand, but Prozen only offered four hours for them to decide. Of course, he didn't want them to agree either which way. He was perfectly content to focus on the total destruction of New Helic City if they refused. His plans were derailed when Emperor Zeppelin passed away, leaving his grandson, Prince Rudolph in charge. Rudolph called for the immediate retreat of the Empire's forces, saving New Helic City from a grueling war.

Downfall, Episode 59

When Hiltz and his Death Stinger decided to target New Helic City, they came up with a plan to submerge the Zoid in magma by bombing it while it was traveling over volcanic fields. The Death Stinger immediately mocked this plan by burrowing into the magma tunnels itself, using them as a way to fast track its journey towards New Helic City. The Republic began evacuating its citizens, and President Camford informed her men, as well as the Guylos soldiers lending their support that their only objective was to buy as much time as possible for the evacuation.

When the Death Stinger arrived at the city, flooding the streets with lava, the Guardian Force was there to confront it. Thoma and Irvine's Zoids were knocked out fairly quickly. Hermann and Schwarz followed up, using Hermann's Shield Liger's energy shield to disable the shield on the Death Stinger. This was what seemed to give it so much invincibility. Even with the shield down, however, Schwarz was unable to do any real damage. By the time he was thrown back, the defense forces and reinforcements from the 1st Armored Division had arrived. They were slaughtered by the Death Stinger, but in spite of the grievous losses, their sacrifice bought the time required for the evacuations to be completed. As soon as they were, President Camford ordered for the immediate abandonment of New Helic City. All forces were ordered to withdraw to Windeen Lake.

- National Ancient Studies Research Institute

Introduction

The National Ancient Studies Research Institute is exactly what it sounds like; an organization in New Helic City that investigates matters of the past. This seems to be a broad scope, similar to a typical museum with a focus on ancient creatures and artifacts, and even Ancient Zoidian tablets.

Capture, Episode 16

When Bang's group was targeted by the Republican Army for aiding in the escape of a fugitive, they escaped through the sewers and were lead to the institute by Dr. D, who was convinced it'd be fine to simply break in during the night. They were caught by the army, who was already there waiting for them, and thrown in jail. Thankfully once President Camford realized that Dr. D was with them they were able to be set free.
