Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
  • Mitchum
A Shield Liger equipped with large, lightweight cannons to improve its firepower at the expense of its speed. It still retains a relatively high speed, however, and still retains good close-range combat abilities. Numerous variations using similar equipment to the MK-II were released over the years.  [1]

- Additional Equipment Information

- Cannon Beam Guns x2

Cannon Beam Guns x2: キャノンビーム砲×2

The first gunner of the Shield Liger genre, the MK-II replaces the missiles as the side-arm equipment, installing two large guns in their place. These cannons fire energy-based rounds, and like the missiles, they can either fire from the back or while the arms are extended to the side. In addition, they're able to rotate up or down, providing a wider range of fire. Later iterations of the MK-II design scheme renamed these weapons to the Double Beam Cannons.

* Can also be translated as Cannon Beam Cannons or Cannon Beams, but thought this sounded either clunky or odd.

- Missile Pod x2

Missile Pod x2: ミサイルポッド×2

With the upgrade to the MK-II, the cannons were installed on the side arms. The Missile Pods were thus relocated to the lower back. They function the same as they do on the standard Shield Liger, but are now locked in an upwards-firing position.

- Energy Tank x2

Energy Tank x2: エネルギータンク×2

The Energy Tanks are the large blocks located on the side of the cannons. As their name implies, they're used to store energy, and are likely used for the weapon, but they're not actually given much information.
