E51: Remote Village in the Valley (Nordens) |
10 years prior to the series a Republican archeological survey unit attacked the village of Nordens, even though it was located in Imperial territory. Their objective was to capture an Ancient Zoidian girl (Rease) who'd awakened in the area. At the time she'd been friends with a young boy named Nichalo. The villagers were content to hand her over, afraid of the military's wrath, but Nichalo stood up to defend her. He was shot and killed for his act of courage, and Rease's fate in the interim remains unknown. However, all records of the village were later sealed by Regent Prozen, who was known to have carried out extensive research on ancient ruins in the past. Rease wouldn't surface again until she was working under the Dark Kaiser.
When Bang Freiheit was badly injured he stumbled into the village of Nordens seeking help, only for the farmers to flee the fields and everyone in the village to take shelter and hide from him. He didn't understand this behavior until he passed out again and later awoke, rescued by a boy named Nichalo and his Helcat, Tirol. Nichalo explained that the villagers hated Zoids and only regarded them as tools of war. Later on, after Bang had started teaching Nichalo how to properly pilot his Helcat, they witnessed explosions rising from the village.
Once again the village was faced with a military unit demanding that they hand someone over. Only, this time it was Bang that they wanted. Rease had convinced Seepers, who'd been extorting the villagers, that if Bang lived he would reveal his secret. That the only way to stop him was to kill him.
Caving to his own selfish thoughts, Seepers threatened that if the villagers didn't comply he'd burn the place down. Bang took it upon himself to steal one of the Empire's Rev Raptors and fought until the Zoid was eventually gunned down. Now disabled, the villagers gathered in front of him, insisting that they couldn't let the past repeat itself. Seepers fully intended to gun down the villagers, even at the disapproval of his own men. Thankfully the Guardian Force arrived and put an end to the dispute before this horrific act could be carried out.
When Bang told the villagers about the boy who'd rescued him, they revealed that he'd actually died 10 years ago. They even showed Bang the stone remains of his Helcat, who'd died long ago, still sitting in the ruins. Bang couldn't understand what had happened, but for all intents and purposes, he was rescued by the ghosts of Nichalo and Tirol.
