 Although he doesn't belong to any faction, he pursues the cause of the failure of the Zi-Forming Project, but after being cornered by the Empire he entrusted Sally with the pendant and disappeared.

History

Immigration To Earth, The Zi Forming Failure

Bowman was among the scientists traveling to Earth after it was discovered that Planet Zi would be destroyed. He rode among the Science Ship along with Sally, the two of them being the last two awake, or so they thought. When rebels attacked the ship and stated their intention to take Earth for themselves, Bowman realized that they were going to destroy the other immigration ships. So, he turned the Science Ship towards a wormhole and escaped with Sally onboard an escape vehicle.

The two of them landed on Earth 1 year before the series begins. Bowman had no idea what had become of the Science Ship, but could tell immediately that the Zi Forming Device had failed to properly terraform the planet. He spent the next year researching how to fix the world, but was eventually discovered by the Empire. Knowing he would eventually be caught, he gave the culmination of his research, a pendant, to his granddaughter, Sally. They fled in separate directions, Bowman hoping to lead the Empire off of Sally's trail.


Savior of the Gatling Fox, Episode 5

When Bowman encountered Byrne Blood and his Gatling Fox, he realized that the Zoid's core was slowing down, and that soon, it would die from the stress of fighting the Z-O Visor. The Zoid had been acting out up until this point, running away, attacking allies, and shutting down. Byrne had to choose whether he would return to the Empire, and let the fox die, or run, and remove the visor. When he chose to save his Zoid, Bowman removed the Z-O Visor for him.
