- The Stolen Super Secret Zoid

- Ultrasaurus Recapture Operation

In the Zoids War, where the development of new Zoids would determine the outcome, both sides were forced to use all their power to obtain top-secret information.

This was the birth of the "Spy Commandos."

Spy Commandos were special combatants who could sneak into enemy territory to steal information and fight alone if necessary.

Among them, boasting superior intelligence and extraordinary combat skills, there was an excellent warrior in the Imperial Army whose name was known throughout both sides. His code name was "Echo." Only a few people in the Imperial Army knew his true identity.

In the year ZAC 2037, a Sinker took off from the airfield of the Imperial Air Force. A small Zoid, Hammerrock, was suspended under its fins. The pilot of the Sinker, who was only informed of the flight's destination would've lost his mind if he'd known the true identity of the man sitting in the Hammerrock's cockpit. That man was none other than the legendary commando "Echo."

The Sinker's destination was the Republic base upstream from Red River. There, Echo was trying to carry out the plan he himself had conceived. It was the most daring and insane plan of the Zoids War, a plan to seize the gigantic Zoid that the Republican Army had completed using all of its might.

The Sinker, carrying the Hammerrock that Echo was riding took advantage of the storm and infiltrated the Republic Base. Before any of the defenders noticed, the Hammerrock jumped down onto the Ultrasaurus' catapult.

While Echo sat in the cockpit, tear gas spewing from the Hammerrock assailed the soldiers. The Ultra roared and started to move, destroying the base in just a few minutes, then pointed its huge main guns in the direction of the Republic's capital.

Bombarding the capital had been Echo's goal all along.

But at that moment, a Cannontortoise, miraculously surviving among the piles of rubble, fired an assault gun from close range. Fortunately, the shell hit the Ultra's radar. Taking advantage of the opportunity presented by Echo, who panicked at the unexpected event, the Cannontortoise managed to escape safely.

Having given up on long-range radar bombardment, Echo advanced the Ultra towards the capital. He changed his plan to a direct attack on the capital instead.

Republic Command was in an uproar, like someone had poked the hornet's nest. To the army, the Ultra was the new type of Zoid that they'd long awaited for. If possible, they wanted to recover it unscathed. On top of that, even if they were to decide on destroying the Ultra, they weren't confident that they had a Zoid that could do so. However, the Air Force had a different opinion. The Air Force Commander, who trusted the offensive power of the Salamander, the only heavy bomber of either army, felt that even the Ultra couldn't withstand the Salamander's fierce bombardment.

While the meeting continued to quarrel over the conflict between the Army and Air Force, the Ultra was approaching the capital. Finally, the Air Force Commander stood up and shouted.

"If the Ultra enters the valley near the capital, bombing it will no longer be a possibility. After that, are you confident that the Army can still destroy the Ultra?"

The attack was decided. It would be an air strike by the Salamander.

If the Salamanders destroyed the Ultra, they could show the Army the strength of the Air Force, and that was the aim of the Air Force Commander. As the entire Republican Army watched on, the Salamander's missiles hit the Ultra directly. The Ultra sank into the enormous flames.

Amazing Power That Even The Zoid Gojulas Can't Stop!

The giant form of the Ultrasaurus emerged from the fading smoke.

"The Salamander's missiles were ineffective!"

The Republic Army shouted in horror of the weapon they'd created. Was there anyone who could stop this monster now?

While the Republican Army's commanders were scratching their heads, a young soldier was working on a mountain of Ultra blueprints at the laboratory where the Ultra had been developed. It was Lieutenant Toamath, the pilot of the Cannontortoise who'd returned alive from the Ultra base.

Having destroyed the Ultra's radar from close range, he believed that the Ultra also had a weak point. He and the scientists at the laboratory that was cooperating with the investigation had all come to the same conclusion. The weak point was the cockpit's canopy.

The canopy was designed to be able to move even in battle in order to escape. If they landed a direct hit, it might open from the shock. Then they could capture that Imperial Army commando...

Lieutenant Toamath's plan was reported to headquarters and immediately adopted.

The battle for the fate of the Republic and the Empire had turned into a contest of wisdom and courage between the two men. It was a battle between the commander "Echo" and the young artilleryman, Lieutenant Toamath.

The Ultrasaurus was approaching the capital. Once they passed through the narrow valley, the capital would be right in front of them. In the Ultra cockpit, Echo was preparing for the final battle.

"If the Republican forces are going to put up a fight, it will be at the exit of the valley. The Republic's large army must be waiting for us there."

However, contrary to his expectations, there were no signs of the Republican forces anywhere at the exit of the valley. There were only two destroyed Zoid Gojulas', their rusty bodies lying there, blocking the valley exit. Just as Echo tried to push the Ultra further forward, the two Zoid Gojulas suddenly sprung up and began pushing the Ultra back from both sides. It was a surprise attack devised by Lieutenant Toamath to outwit Echo. Even the Ultra stopped moving for a moment.

"That's it!"

Lieutenant Toamath, who'd been hiding behind a rock in his Cannontortoise fired its assault cannon. The Ultra's canopy was blown away. The second Lieutenant Toamath tried to fire the second shot, the small vehicle carrying Echo shot into the sky from the Ultra's exposed head.

The operation was over. Commando Echo escaped, but the Ultrasaurus was safely returned to the Republican Army.
