- Zoid Eve

- Introduction

The Zoid Eve is an ancient structure from the era of Ancient Zoidians featured in the Zoids anime. It's said to be the source of energy for all Zoids on Planet Zi, with its death forewarned to end their lives. Where the Zoid Eve came from is unknown. Though the Ancient Zoidians have the capacity to shut it down, it's not explicitly stated to have been created by them. It is said, however, to hold the life, downfall, and prosperity of all Zoids.

- Notable Facts

  • The upper brass of the Imperial Army were said to be looking for Zoid Eve as early as Episode 17.
  • It was said that when the Zoid Eve's power was released that Zoids would be able to multiply infinitely. The dub phrased this as the Zoid Eve being resurrected, even though it was clarified that the Zoidians hadn't been able to bring themselves to completely terminate Zoid Eve.
  • The English Dub included an ending speech where Bang (Van) explained that with the evil forces eliminated, Zoids were freed from their desire to fight and people could once again draw on the Zoids to create a world of limitless potential. This... didn't make much sense, since it's the people of Planet Zi who were using them for fighting to begin with, but more than that, this speech didn't exist in the Japanese version, which instead played the ending song alongside the credits. As far as the original version is concerned, things simply continued in the same manner as they had for the rest of the series.

- History

Ancient Zi, Episode 65

During the era of the Ancient Zoidians they used the power of the Zoid Eve to produce countless Zoid Cores, and in doing so they created a world of limitless prosperity and potential. Even so, some Ancient Zoidians used the Zoids as weapons in their meaningless power struggles. Zoids became so adept at combat that they discovered their true warrior nature, and continued to fight even without objective. To put a stop to the battles the Ancient Zoidians created the Death Saurer. This would become their biggest mistake.

The Death Saurer wiped out all civilization on the planet. In a final effort to end the destruction the few remaining survivors tried to terminate the Zoid Eve. They believed that when they did, all Zoids would cease as well, including the Death Saurer. However, they couldn't bring themselves to completely extinguish its power. Instead, they left it in a dormant state of sorts, which allowed Zoids to continue to exist on Planet Zi. Without the Ancient Zoidians, the remaining Zoids swarmed the surface of Planet Zi until humans from Earth arrived and began to use them for war once more. [1]

First Discovery, Episode 3

When Fine came in contact with a pillar containing Ancient Zoidian text in a ruin she passed out. When she awoke, she knew that she needed to search for Zoid Eve.

Reactivation, Episode 65 ~ 66

When the Dark Kaiser brought Fine to Eveopolis, intending for her to resurrect the Zoid Eve and thereby the entombed Death Saurer, she hesitated. She instead pivoted towards destroying the Zoid Eve, while Prozen argued that the Ancient Zoidians would've perished without their precious Zoids. The choice was taken out of her hands when the battle unfolding in the city below between Raven and three Geno Saurers resulted in a stray shot striking the Zoid Eve console area. The Zoid Eve screamed to life, starting the sequence of events that would lead to the Death Saurer's resurrection.

The Final Decision, Episode 66 ~ 67

With the imminent threats unfolding, Sieg showed up in the Zoid Eve console area, claiming to know how to shut down the Zoid Eve. They continued to watch the fighting until Hiltz tried to absorb the Blade Liger and Geno Breaker into the Death Saurer's Zoid Core. Fine's outcry triggered a response from the Zoid Eve, creating a shockwave that knocked them out of the Death Saurer's reach. Now suddenly aware of Fine's intent, Hiltz turned his attention to her. Though she tried to reason with him, Hiltz insisted that he was no pawn of the Death Saurer's, as Prozen had been. He insisted that he, himself, wanted to bring an end to civilization on Planet Zi, and continued his senseless destruction.

Fine, feeling that Sieg had what it took to bring an end to the destruction fused to the Organoid, and together they fused to the Zoid Eve Console Area. Now linked to the Zoid Eve she began the process of powering it down, which drew the immediate attention of Hiltz. Though she knew this meant that the Zoids would be sacrificed, she believed it was necessary to save the planet, citing that at least the Zoids would die free.

Bang appealed to Fine for one last chance to stop the Death Saurer, promising that he would defeat it so that no innocent people or Zoids had to die. He had Hermann fire him and the Blade Liger out of the Gravity Cannon, giving them the additional force to break through the Death Saurer's armor and defeat it. When the plan worked, Fine and Sieg detached from the Zoid Eve console and returned to the Blade Liger. This seemed to trigger a response in Eveopolis. The entire city started sinking back beneath the sands, taking the defeated Death Saurer with it. The Zoid Eve was once more buried, in seemingly the same state as when they'd started. Able to continue to power the Zoids but without the overwhelming power it had exhibited during its time of full activation.
