The above concepts show off Knox's core character design as well as the B-suit.. |
Knox was in charge of the original operations that made use of the Gatling Fox, the newest Zoid of the Empire with advanced stealth capabilities. However, the fox started shutting down during battle. The technicians explained this to be something that happens sometimes with newly rolled out Zoids as they adjust to the visor, and thus Knox ordered for the visor to be strengthened. Yet, these situations continued to occur. This culminated in the Fox attacking other Imperial Zoids in the hangar, and ultimately disappearing during a mission.
It was later discovered that Byrne Brad, the Fox's pilot, had fled with the fox. He was attempting to save it, as the Fox trying to resist the Z-O Visor was resulting in the Zoid Core getting weaker. Even so, he wasn't able to communicate this properly with the Empire. As far as Knox was concerned, he was a deserter, and he aggressively opposed his attempt to leave. Unfortunately, he was unable to defeat the Gatling Fox.
Knox received a call from an archeologist by the name of Ed Mais, who claimed to have found Byrne Blood. He wa seeking a bounty on the Gatling Fox's pilot. Knox made a deal with him in exchange for Ed trapping Byrne on Raps Island, an archeological site. The plan was to destroy the bridge, then capture them, but instead, Knox bombed the entire island. He disregarded Ed's grief over the destruction of his dig site and apprehended the fox. Unfortunately for him, Byrne escaped custody and stole it off of the cargo ship, fleeing back to the island. When he tried to pursue him again, though he was able to bring down the fox, he failed to defeat Leo and his Beast Liger. The Gatling Fox slipped between his fingers once again.
