Zi-Girl Gallery
Introduction
Zi-Girls was created based on the easy-to-understand concept of Zoids + Beautiful Girls. This is a collection of illustrations that were drawn as cover girls for the reader's corner alongside the publication of Zoids Generations. |
Murasame Liger Shinobi Custom
This was an illustration drawn for the game Zoids Full Metal Crash. SInce it's the Shinobi Liger, the clothes are ninja-like. Each armor part is slightly damaged because armor destruction was one of the factors in the game.
Murasame Liger Knight Custom
This is the Knight Custom combination and the bonus Zoid from Zoids Saga DS, the Sauro Knights. Its subtly fantasy knight-themed... Or at least I hope it looks like it. The design for the Sauro Knights fusion has been rearranged quite a bit.
Murasame Liger
It's actually the last illustration I did for the Murasame series. The rail where the sword moves around the body is probably the key point of the design. Every time I turned them into a girl, I was careful to keep the gimmicks of the original Zoids as much as I could.
Hayate Liger
As a whole, the Murasame series has a very Japanese-like aesthetic, so it was easy to combine the Japanese style + red Miko (shrine maiden) style. I think this one came together quite well. In the original publication it was in black and white, so I'm not sure if people noticed it was a miko style
Mugen Liger
This was the most difficult design of the Murasame series because of how sharp it looks. I gave her two big swords, but had to keep their composition vertical, so I went with a more delicate pose. I drew it initially to give a divine feeling, but I'm not sure how it turned out...

Rainbow Jerk Wind
At first I drew this as the standard version, but since the shoulders looked rather lonely, I made it the enhanced version with the boosters. I tried to think of the unfolding feathers as an old-fashioned Juri fan, but they might be too old for viewers to understand that If she folds her arms behind her, she should look close to the original silhouette of the Jerk.
Bamburian
This one had an easy to understand image of Chinese clothing. The girl's hairstyle is tied back in a bun in the rough draft, but I decided to change it to a small tire as well. Eventually, I ended up placing a small Bamburian on her head.
Lanstag
I remember trying to draw the girl inside to look like Mie after she grew up. So she has small breasts. She's a troubled girl with many horns, a shield, and other various troublesome parts.
Deadly Kong
Since I fall into the habit of using one type of clothing all the time, I sometimes go with a power-loader style. I think it's appropriate to have it look like a young child's riding a powerful-looking mech. By the way, I never draw the Rez Wolf or the Whitz Tiger...
Molga Canory
It kinda looks like the girl is about to cry because a Molga has bitten her head, but maybe that's just my imagination. She's actually a little different from the real kit, since I didn't notice I had lost the rear hook parts of the cannon when I first drew it.
Gildragon
I was trying to think of a way to draw Gildragon's tough four-legged, winged design, and came up with the idea of an older sister giving her little sister a piggyback ride, and I thought "There it issssss!" I can't remember why her sister is in a swimsuit, but I still like this illustration.

Liger Zero Schneider
Since it's a close combat form, the head part of the Zoid, which I'd normally place on the head, was placed on the right arm instead. Zero Schneider is equipped with 5 swords on its head, so I arranged them to make it look like one big sword. Her forehead looks large now, because there aren't many decorations on it.
Liger Zero Panzer
This is the heavy artillery form of Liger Zero. I tried to place all the firearms on its body except for the ones on the back so that they can fire from all sides. The design underneath is common between all of the Zero forms, so is a bit too exposed for this one.
Liger Zero Jager
I think this was the first Zoids Girl I drew. Since its a mode that doesn't have any weapons outside of the claws and fangs, the gun pod from the tip of the tail was rearranged to be a handheld weapon.
Psycho Geno Saurer
If you put your right arm forward and turn your body 90 degrees, the design would be very close to the shape of the original Geno. Since its name is Psycho, I tried to include an eyepatch and leather-like clothes. During the rough draft the breastplate only had the Geno's claws, but it was quite awkward.
Liger Zero
Since the main focus of the normal form of Liger Zero, and the main conclusion of each battle is the Strike Laser Claw, I drew this one with an energetic young girl in mind... I bought the King of Flexible figures to draw from for the Liger Zero series, and it was great.
Shadow Fox
This is a design I like a lot among the wind-up Zoids, so I remember drawing it with a lot of enthusiasm. Originally, I drew them with a tail, but since it as a built-in net gun, I switched it to being a hand-held weapon, and did the same thing for the Laser Vulcan on its back.

Shield Liger
I intended to draw the bangs so that they looked like fangs while the Shield was deployed. Actually, all Zoids Girls seem to share the trend of having knee socks or tights. It's not that I'm that particular about the design, I just like it.
Red Horn
I drew her with an arsenal-style image in mind, so I placed all of her weapons around her upper body. She looks very heavy, but for the girl it's not heavy at all thanks to the magnesser system. It'd be even heavier with the gatling unit attached, but that's okay.
Saber Tiger
Since this Zoid has a strong reputation as the Shield Liger's rival, I drew her in a pose that was symmetrical to the Shield Liger girl. I remember drawing her as a dark-skinned, energetic girl.
Storm Sworder / Storm Sworder Jet
Since they'd specified a vertical composition, it was difficult to find a position where the wings could be spread out, so I ended up drawing her with folded wings. The swords on her wings have a katana-like shape, so I tried to draw her in a Japanese style.
Snipe Master
Since there are so few details in the original design this one was pretty simple. If she squats down a little and sticks her butt out a bit more she'd actually look just like a Snipe Master. I like drawing small children huge weapons because the drawings look good.
Command Wolf
This Command Wolf was drawn in the design of the Kotobukiya plastic kit version. Aside from the fact that I used the Smoke Discharger, which has a motorcycle-like muffler on it as a handgun, it should be a fairly faithful recreation of the design.

Cannon Fort
When someone says cow, you think of milk, so I gave her big breasts. Calm = Glasses. Her breasts were quite large until I put the armor on the sides of her chest... So now you can't see them that well. Sorry.
Gojulas The Ogre
The old Republic Zoids in general, not just this one, have a lot of details and are difficult to draw. I like it. The silhouette would look bad if I drew a girl wearing Gojulas clothes, so I decided to go with a power-loader type.
Hound Soldier
This is the version that was sold as a new color variant during the Zoids Genesis broadcast, but I also like the blue-white color. The key points are the paw gloves and the lances on her head. By the way, did this guy and Rhimos ever actually make it into the show?
Spino Sapper
There are two types of armaments on the back as optional parts (three if you count items sold separately), so I remember having a hard time trying to show off the different features. It's a slender Zoid, so I drew the girl with a more slender look.
Rapto Jaguar
I remember that I had a hard time drawing Neo BLOX because they shared so many parts, so it was difficult to draw their key features. I drew her with a slender look because it's a slender Zoid, but what do you think?
Lord Gale
This one was quite easy because it's one of those rare Zoids that actually has a sort of human shape. However, since the Zoid head is below her head, the tummy part is actually the original chest part for the Zoid.
Megaleon
The Megaleon is one of my favorite Zoids because it has such a quirky little design, such as using clear parts for its entire body or having a large cannon on that makes up its entire back. There was originally going to be a chameleon tongue on her chest, but it turned into a tie when I anthropomorphized the design. The clear parts of the entire body were instead only applied to the skirt. That's pretty obscene.
Black Rhimos
I think this is a masterpiece among the old high-power wind-up Zoids, and has a beautiful contrast with the red and black. I loved the gimmick that the drill at the tip of its nose rotated when the neck was tilted. The combination of rugged armor and slender girls is always a beautiful combo, or at least I think so.
