About 30 years had passed since humanity returned to Earth, and the war for supremacy had broken out when the humans born there, collectively known as the "Second Generation", had begun to play an active role.
The Republic, which returned to Earth one year earlier, were the first to excavate Zoids and used them peacefully to develop the devastated Earth, surpassing the Empire in number. During the first stages of the war the Imperial Army overwhelmed the Republic in various regions with their strong firepower, rapidly reducing the number of Zoids in the Republican Army's roster, to the point that the number of machines was now equal to the Imperial Army.
Several years have passed since the war began. Although small-scale battles frequently occur in various locations between the two countries, which had exhausted their military strength, there was an overall lull in the situation and they were now in a standoff, with both armies prioritizing military build-up, excavating Zoids, and expanding their territory. Even after suffering a crushing defeat at the beginning of the war, there was still strong opposition in the Republic to arming their Zoids, and the gap in their Zoids weapons development capabilities compared to the Empire continued to widen. While aware of public opinion, the leaders of the Republican Army decided on the policy of arming their Zoids. On the surface, they explained that their main objective was self defense, "to maintain a balance with the Imperial Army", but on the other hand, they secretly planned to acquire Zoids from the Imperial Army by capturing and analyzing them. A special task force, commonly known as the "Blue Bloods Squad", was formed to carry out this plan.
The special task force was to seize weapons from the Imperial Army on the battlefield, analyze them, develop weapons, and deploy them in actual combat, and due to the uniqueness of their mission, only a small number of people in the Republican Army, let alone the Imperial Army, knew of the existence of this unit.
