- Military History

ZAC 2039, Rollout

The Wardick was rolled out under the banner of the Zenebas Empire during the Central Continent War, and it remained the most powerful naval mass production Zoid until its second rollout around 60 years later.

ZAC 2101, ~January, Reintroduction

By the time the Western Continent War came to a close, the Wardick was critically endangered. This was until the Guylos Empire realized that through the limited use of the Organoid System they could promote the splitting of Zoid Cores, allowing them to increase the population of endangered wild Zoids in a relatively short period of time. This resulted in the Wardick being mass produced and released back onto the battlefield.

ZAC 2101, March, Assault of Nixie Base

The Republican Army had captured Nixie Base, the most important imperial base on the Western Continent. The Empire decided to launch a strong counter offensive, starting from the sea. Without much warning the defensive line of Hammerheads, which the Republic held great faith in was breached by Wardicks. As far as the Republic knew, these Zoids had been on the verge of extinction, so this sudden influx of individuals came as an expected shock, and by the time they organized their own counter attack, these powerful naval Zoids had already destroyed the Nixie port, further delaying the Republic's departure to the Dark Continent of Nyx.

ZAC 2101, June, Battle of the Andar Sea

After lengthy delays from their former attack the Republic finally launched their landing operation. The Empire immediately launched droves of Sinkers and Wardicks to intercept this operation, and a fierce battle broke out between the two armies. This time, the struggle was even. However, when their flying Zoids ran out of fuel, and the Republic was seeing a temporary lack of air support, the Empire launched a wave of Sinkers that'd been lying in wait on the ocean floor. The Republic's forces were forced to retreat through the Triangle Daras, a dangerous electromagnetic sea between them and Nyx. This battle was a win for the Guylos Empire.

- Equipment Information

- AZ Missile Launcher x1

AZ Missile Launcher x1: AZミサイルランチャー×1

A missile launcher on the Wardicks back, used to launch surprise attacks against aerial Zoids while hiding just under the surface of the water. In NC0, every square part is its own missile door, implying a total of 8 in the show.

- Hydro Jet Nozzles

Hydro Jet Nozzles: ハイドロジェットノズル

The Hydro Jets are the circular vents on the side of the Wardick. Hydro jets are commonly used in aquatic crafts, drawing water through the inlet and pushing it through the systems to create propulsion or directional control.

- Medium-Caliber Beam Cannon x2

Medium-Caliber Beam Cannon x2: 中口径ビーム砲×2

The Beam Cannons are located in the front of the large cylinders on either side. They're often used against enemies above the water.

- Pressurized Cockpit

Pressurized Cockpit: 耐水圧コックピット

The Wardick has a pressurized cockpit, which at first may seem like an arbitrary thing to specify on an aquatic Zoid. Yet the Wardick is a rather specialized case, able to go to a depth of 12,000 meters. To put that into perspective, the deepest known point in the oceans of Earth is Challenger Deep, located in the Mariana Trench and is estimated to be roughly 10,935 meters deep.

- Propulsion Main Engine x2

Propulsion Main Engine x2: 推進用メインエンジン×2

The main engines are located at the back of the large cylinders. They're pretty self explanatory.

- Radar

Radar: レーダー

The radars are the two fins on the lower back of the Wardick. Their full function doesn't seem to be covered in the books.

- Sonic Blaster x1

Sonic Blaster x1: ソニックブラスター×1

Located in the mouth the Sonic Blaster is the Wardick's primary underwater weapon, using sound waves to attack its enemies. Because of how fast sound waves transfer through water it's especially hard to dodge these attacks, which helps the Wardick to hold off even the Republic's state-of-the-art Hammer Head.

- Featured In Media

- Zoids New Century /ZERO Anime

Wardicks featured prominently in New Century /ZERO, where they were piloted by the Fuma Team often in association with the Backdraft Group. In this setting they could swim through the sand as easily as in water, including breaching and jumping clear over a Zoid. The leader of the group piloted a distinctive red version of the Zoid.

- Zoids Generations

In Zoids Generations the group hears rumors of a mysterious monster living in a nearby lake. Seeing the seriousness of this issue, that it could be a new Bio Zoid, they agree to go scope things out. This plan is of course totally not an excuse to have a beach holiday. While a Hound Soldier pilot named Ken fishes in the lake, the group plays, and later he reels in the so-called sea monster: A furious Wardick who sends the group scrambling for cover.
