The Storm Sworder is a high-speed aerial Zoid that challenged the concept of what air combat could be. It was instrumental in helping the Helic Republic defend their skies during the Western Continent War, and even assisted in transporting small-scale Zoids.  [1]

- Details of Design

Pseudo Transport

The Sworm Sworder is depicted in multiple media, including the Fan Books (battle story) as being able to carry other Zoids. In Fan Book 2, it carries two Gun Snipers (a cumulative 50 tons) during an escort mission to the Galil Ruins. In the Zoids Guardian Force anime, it's depicted carrying Van's Blade Liger (124 tons).

- Military History

ZAC 2100, March, Serving as an escort for the Blade Liger

The Republic deployed Arthur Borgmann and his Blade Liger as a combat test, with the goal to bring back data from the Galil Ruins. For this mission, a Storm Sworder was deployed alongside him to serve as an escort. It carried two Gun Snipers for added support. When the Blade Liger was ambushed by the Empire's new small-scale OS (Organoid System) Zoids, Rev Raptors, it dropped the Gun Snipers into the battle, allowing Arthur and his Blade Liger to escape.

Once their unit reached the Galil Ruins, the two Gun Snipers went inside the ruins with the Blade Liger. The Storm Sworder, who circled above the ruins, took severe damage to its wing from the Charged Particle beam that the Geno Saurer had used to blast its escape route from the ruins.

ZAC 2100, April, Aerial Dogfight

Storm Sworders were launched to defend Rob Base against an invasion carried out by the Guylos Empire's Redlers. 1,000 Redlers joined the bombing runs, while only 200 Storm Sworders stood in their way. However, after only an hour of combat, the Redlers suffered a miserable defeat against the superior Storm Sworders. This allowed the Republic to take control of the skies over eastern Europa, and the Republic subsequently ordered an attack on the Empire's supply lines.

ZAC 2100, September, Destroyer Corps Mobilization

Storm Sworders were mobilized alongside the Destroyer Corps to cover their blind spots from the skies. Their goal was the destruction of Nixie Base. In the end, the Republic was able to capture Nixie base instead.

- Equipment Information

- 2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Gun x2

2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Gun x2:

During the early 2000s, Zoids kits made a shift towards interchangeable parts, introducing more gimmicks that could make individuals of a specific kit 'unique' by swapping around additional parts. In the case of the Storm Sworder, the Pulse Laser Guns could be swapped for the Iron Claws. The weapons themselves are self-explanatory, two-barrelled laser guns.

- Engine Pods

Engine Pods:

The Storm Sworder sought high performance, to the extent that some systems had to be externalized. In the model kit, this included the battery pack, which was cleverly disguised as the back pack. The engine pods are used for flight.

- Iron Claw x2

Iron Claw x2:

The Iron Claw is a second interchangeable part that can be swapped out in place of the Pulse Laser Guns. In the anime, this interchangeability is represented as the laser guns being hidden behind the claws, with the claws able to tuck down.

- Top Sword

Top Sword:

Storm Sworder uses three beam swords in close range combat. The first of the blades is stored in the Zoid's crest, just above the cockpit. When not in use, this blade tucks seamlessly into the crest. When in use, the blade deploys upwards, and the edge charges with golden energy. [2]

- Wing Sword x2

Wing Sword x2:

The two primary weapons of the Sworm Sworder are its Wing Swords, which tuck beneath the wings. When the Zoid is prepared to use them, they extend forwards to slice through opponents. When in use, these two beam swords charge with golden energy along the front edge.

1. All information, unless stated otherwise, is from the box and official product info.

2. CoroCoro March 2000 issue refers to the Storm Sworder's blades as Beam Swords, and shows the energy charge. In the fan books, they aren't typically depicted with any glow, while the anime has them completely coated in energy.
