Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
  • None
The Redler Interceptor is a heavily modified Redler used for aerial dogfights, taking advantage of numerous machine guns to gain an edge. It's noted to have improved aerial combat capabilities, and had a limited mass production run where it was deployed in the Guylos Empire's Air Force Defense Squadron. Its overall structure is composed from a Redler, Godos, and Gun Sniper.  [1]

- Notable Facts

  • The original model kit custom of Redler Interceptor has full Gun Sniper rear legs, while the front legs have Gun Sniper's forearms attached to the upper legs of the Redler. In the Saga games, the rear legs are Redler legs with Gun Sniper feet attached.

- Equipment Information

Redler Interceptor Weapons

It's worth noting that the Redler Interceptor lacks a concrete lore-based weapons list. For the most part, we have the Saga games list, which is hindered by both a lack of weapon slots and a lack of character limit, forcing many names to be shortened or rewritten entirely. In Zoids Legacy, it's listed with an ambiguous "Cannon", Booster, and Anchor Claw. The use of the Anchor Claw hints towards it still being able to use the Gun Sniper's leg equipment, so for the purpose of this article, we'll list all weapons that are visible from the base components that form the custom model kit.

- 8-Shot Missile Pod x2

8-Shot Missile Pod x2: 8連装ミサイルポッド×2

The Redler Interceptor makes use of a decent number of the Gun Sniper's weapons, including these missile pods, which are relocated to the lower back. They have 8 slots each, for a total of 16 rounds.

- Beam Machine Gun x2

Beam Machine Gun x2: ビームマシンガン×2

Gun Sniper's Beam Machine Gun are installed to the top of the Interceptor's wings, sporting three rapid-firing barrels that fire energy shots.

- Bite Claws x2

Bite Claws x2: バイトクロー×2

The front legs of the Interceptor have the lower halves replaced with the forearms of a Gun Sniper, which theoretically give it access to the Bite Claws as well. Otherwise they're a fairly straight forward, articulated close range weapon.

- Booster x2

Booster x2: ブースター

Both of the 8-Shot Missile Pods have boosters installed, which are confirmed through images to still be functional on the Interceptor. There are two nozzles on the back of each pod.

- Small-Calibre Charged Particle Beam Gun

Small-Calibre Charged Particle Beam Gun: 小口径荷電粒子ビーム砲×2

The odd weapon out is this Small-Calibre Charged Particle Beam Gun, which is a weapon used in Godos, Iguan, etc. It fires a particle beam, though it's worth noting that these 'small-scale' particle guns are nothing like the monstrous particle cannons on the Geno series and later.

- Strike Anchor Claw x2

Strike Anchor Claw x2: ストライクアンカークロー×2

With the Gun Sniper's legs, the Interceptor is confirmed through Zoids Legacy to have access to the Anchor Claws. Since the Zoid is flight-focused, they likely serve more of a combat use than stability.

- Variable Laser Blade

Variable Laser Blade: 可変レーザーブレード

As a Redler, the Interceptor still has access to the Variable Laser Blade, which is a small blade that extends from the tail to slice through enemy Zoids. When not in use, it tucks completely into the armor, protecting it from further damage.
