The Jagd Führer is an unreleased CAS concept for the Berserk Führer that, in spite of its limited media appearance, has captivated fans for decades. It's the Panzer of the Führer series.  [1]

- Concept Art

These core concepts of what we could probably call the "final version" were seen in the March 2002 issue of Dengeki Hobby Magazines, in a side section called "Smack Zoids! B-Part". The main difference from the version that was used from Saga II and onwards is the additional leg gun, but I'd still err towards it being "accounted for" given the port's still there. The equipment image (bottom right) is from Zoids Graphics Vol.02.

This early concept of the Jagd Führer was seen alongside the above concepts in Dengeki Hobby Magazine, but an exploded view was also featured in the background of Zoids Graphics Vol.02, which shows off the equipment better. Interestingly, this variant also appeared as the Jagd Führer CAS in Zoids Saga I, where it was introduced as "Berserk Führer Y" (Y because Jagd is pronounced as 'Yakt'.)

- Military History

ZAC ???, Rollout

The Jagd Führer, though fine in concept, ultimately proved to be unnecessary because the Charged Particle Cannon was more than sufficient for firepower. In spite of this, several prototypes were said to have made it onto the battlefield. We can probably assume that their occupancy took place on the Dark Continent of Nyx, and perhaps even on the Eisen Dragoon's invasion of the Central Continent. These were the two major battlefields where Berserk Führers and Sturm Führers were seen.

- Notable Facts

  • The Jagd saw numerous tests for large firearms, but because of the natural strength of the base unit it never had a problem with the increase in weight.

- Equipment Information

- 2-Shot Missile Pod x2

2-Shot Missile Pod x2: 2連ミサイルポッド×2

The 2-Shot Missile Pods are attached to the legs. These were excluded from the 'final' version (using the term 'final' very loosely) that appeared in the later Saga games. The circular joint implies they could rotate up and down.

- Anti-Zoid Rifle x2

Anti-Zoid Rifle: 対ゾイドライフル×2

The two big rifles on the back. They have what appears to be a scope on top and three (maybe four?) barrels on the front. They attach to a peg on the side of the Missile Boxes, allowing them to rotate up and down.

- Binder Arm x2

Binder Arm: バインダーアーム×2

The Binder Arms, attached to the shoulders seems to be a repurposed Berserk Führer Buster Claw arm design. It rotates 360 degrees at both ends and bends forwards and backwards at the connection point and half way point. It's used to attach the Weapon Binders, which have quite a few weapons packed into them. If they serve as actual shields, it also allows for dynamic blocking of attacks.

- Head Sensors

Head Sensors: 頭センサー * 2nd Kanji missing

The Head Sensors are attached to the side of the head. There isn't a clear mention of what they do, since the Jagd Führer gets only a couple of paragraphs of lore. However, it does clarify that they're different shapes on each side. The right side of the head has a flat sensor block, and the left side has a taller block, much like what you see on HMMs these days.

- Hybrid Cannon x2

Hybrid Cannon x2: ハイブリッドキャンノ×2

The Hybrid Cannons are the first of the numerous weapons packed into the Weapon Binder. It refers to the two barrels on the underside, though the specific barrel types aren't clarified like they are on Panzer.

- Missile Pod x2

Missile Pod: ミサイルポッド×2

We'll be lumping these two in together since the Jagd has a lot of weapons named "Missile Pod." In this case, we're referring to those on the back. The sketches from Zoids Graphics shows us that the front opens up as well as the missile box that attaches to the bars. The front pod opens up to reveal an 8-Shot Missile Pod. It's presumeably stationary. The top pod opens up to reveal a 6-Shot Missile Pod, and its joint implies that it can rotate up and down.

- Missile Pod x4

Missile Pod: ミサイルポッド×4

There are even more missile pods than the ones above. The top of the leg armor flips back to reveal a 2-Shot Missile Pod. A second 2-Shot Missile Pod extends outwards from the sides of the thigh armor. Between all four pods this would account for a total of 8 shots at once from these pods alone.

* It's worth mentioning that the weapon numbers aren't given in the concepts. All Missile Pods are officially just "Missile Pod", for example. Numbers are added here for descriptive purposes.

- Rapid-Fire Cannon x2

Rapid-Fire Cannon: 速射キャノン×2

The second weapon packed into the binder is the Rapid-Fire Cannon. We can assume from the name that it has a high rate of fire, and this weapon specifically refers to the barrel that's in the large trench along the shields.

- Vulcan x2

Vulcan x2: バルカン×2

You'd almost miss this one. The Vulcans are the tiny divots at the front of the shield, and like other Vulcans, we can probably assume they have a high rate of fire.

- Weapon Binder x2

Weapon Binder: ウエポンバインダー

The Weapon Binders are the shield-like items on the shoulders. These contain the Hybrid Cannons, Rapid-Fire Cannons, and Vulcans. The shape makes them appear as if they, themselves could be used as a shield, but I don't believe they actually get listed as such in the limited lore.
