The Iron Kong PK is a heavily upgraded Iron Kong, chosen by Prozen to be the flagship Zoid of the Prozen Knights. It was chosen for the Iron Kong's association with the former Zenebas Empire.  [1]

- Military History

Origins, Creation of the Prozen Knights

The Prozen Knights began as a royal guard unit with the responsibility of protecting the Guylos Emperor. However, they answered to the current regent, and as that regent was now Prozen, the unit became know as the Prozen Knights. The Kong, along with other Zoids in the PK Division, gained the priviledge of receiving the latest equipment, turning the division into a considerable force that outclassed any other division 3 to 1. At that point, they gained the right to arrest political prisoners, including those who opposed Prozen. They became so feared that frontline generals of Guylos were more afraid of them than their actual enemies.

ZAC 2100, July, Invasion of Rob Base

During the Western Continent War, the Republican army had been driven back to Rob Base, their last fortress. Many of the Republic's strongest forces had arrived from the Central Continent, and at the time, Rob Base was in the process of regrouping. Feeling a sense of urgency, Guylos launched an attack on the base before this reorganization could finish. During this assault one Iron Kong PK, who'd been sent to the frontlines to raise morale among the soldiers, managed to infiltrate the base. With so much overcrowding in the base, the Republic's Zoids were gridlocked and unable to mobilize, leaving them as easy target practice for the Kong.

Eventually, it set its sights on Gojulas the Ogre, one of the strongest Zoids in the base. Before it could kill this monstrous Zoid, a mercenary Command Wolf, piloted by Irvine, intercepted the Iron Kong PK, putting their lives on the line to protect the Ogre. This action awakened the Ogre, in spite of the fact that its auto pilot was inactive, and the Ogre made short work of this PK. Even so, the damage it did to the base was immense.

ZAC 2101, October ~ November, Invasion of Valhalla

As Prozen made his move to launch the Neo Zenebas Empire he sent the Prozen Knights to invade the Guylos capital of Valhalla. Valhalla was protected by decorated soldiers from famous families, who had little genuine combat experience. The battle became a slaughter, and Valhalla fell under the control of Prozen and his Knights, who consisted of former Zenebas loyalists who had dedicated their lives to Prozen.

As the Guylos and Helic armies neared Valhalla, it was clear that they had a blatant advantage in numbers. The Prozen Knights had no hope of success, and yet, they continued to put up a ferocious, unrelenting fight. Not a single soldier in the battle surrendered, or threw down his weapons. Even those piloting destroyed Zoids were said to have exited their Zoid and charged the enemy with rifles. As the armies realized that all soldiers at the battle were elderly, it became clear that they had been prepared to die from the start. Though the PK division was destroyed, it bought sufficient time for Prozen to detonate the Bloody Death Saurer. Valhalla was wiped out by the subsequent blast, which became the signal for Wolff Muroa to invade the Central Continent as the new emperor of Neo Zenebas.

- Equipment Information

- 2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Gun

2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Gun: 2連装パルスレーザーガン

This long-barrelled weapon is attached to the Kong's left arm, also housing the Grenade Launcher. Its general purpose is for close-range firepower, and with the incredible articulation in the Kong's arm, it's able to fire in nearly any direction.

- 4-Shot Grenade Launcher

4-Shot Grenade Launcher: 4連装グレネードランチャー

This equipment item rests on top of the 2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Guns. It has four different launch points, for 4 shots. Its attachment allows it to rotate left and right.

- 10 Shot Self-Guided Rocket Launcher

10 Shot Self-Guided Rocket Launcher: 10連発自己誘導ロケット弾ランチャー

This large missile array is carried over from the Iron Kong. While inactive, this weapon is shielded by an armor plate that seals the top of the shoulder. In the PK model, the covering also houses the sensory gear on the top of the shoulder. As the name implies, the rockets are self-guided. This weapon is only located on the left shoulder, as the right shoulder houses the mounting gear for the Beam Launcher.

- AZ Anti-Air Missile x2

AZ Anti-Air Missile x2: AZ対空ミサイル×2

This large missile is installed to the front of the PK's back assembly. It's capable of fending off even faster Republican air Zoids such as the Storm Sworder.

- Beam Launcher

Beam Launcher: ビームランチャー

The huge weapon on the right shoulder is a Beam Launcher. This weapon fires a highly accurate large-calibre beam. The weapon moves in conjunction with the shoulder movement.

- Composite Sensor Unit

Composite Sensor Unit: 複合センサーユニット

The Composite Sensor Unit is the green lense seen on the Kong's head, and is carried over from the standard model. It doesn't get much description to determine its exact effects.

- High Maneuver Booster Pack

High Maneuver Booster Pack: ハイマニューバーブースターパック

The backpack that the Vernier Stabilizers are installed to houses the High Maneuver Booster Pack, which increases mobility and helps to control the Zoid's athletic movements. The unit has two large booster pods on the back.

- Iron Hammer Knuckle x2

Iron Hammer Knuckle x2: アイアンハンマーナックル×2

The fists of the Iron Kong are standard equipment in the PK. The Hammer Knuckles are strong enough to throw enemy Zoids around, but are also articulated, allowing them to grapple with enemy Zoids. This versatility is a traight seen in few other machines.

- Laser Sensor

Laser Sensor: レーザーセンサー

The Laser Sensor is the large green disc on top of the left shoulder. Though the equipment's purpose isn't discussed in the series, laser sensors are often used to gauge the proximity and speed of the target.

- Power Cable x2

Power Cable x2: 動力ケーブル×2

The basic output of the Iron Kong has been improved in the PK model by modifying its power engines. Two Power Cables were installed to the Zoid afterwards, both starting at the chest. One routes to the 2-Barrelled Pulse Laser Gun while the other routes to the huge Beam Launcher on the right shoulder. These are assumed to be to distribute power to the weapons.

- TVM Surface-To-Surface 2-Shot Tactical Missile

TVM Surface-To-Surface 2-Shot Tactical Missile: TVM地対地2連装戦術ミサイル

While the PK has an additional Anti-Aircraft Missile, the TTactical Missiles of the standard Iron Kong are still there, equipped alongisde the new gear. They're typically used against close-range ground targets.

- Vernier Stabilizer x2

Vernier Stabilizer x2: バーニアスタビライザー×2

These two large pylons on the PK's back house the Vernier Stabilizers. Two thrusters are installed to the back of each pylon. These not only increase the Kong's overall mobility, but also help with its athletic performance. In the anime, these were used to assist the Iron Kong SS in climbing up vertical surfaces by giving it more lift.

Iron Kong PK's primary media appearance was in the Official Fan Books, where it served as the flagship Zoid of the Prozen Knights, an elite unit of guards under direct command of the regent. The PK didn't necessarily win most of its fights, but was framed as a fierce fighter who caused immense damage in every battle. Activity by the Prozen Knights mostly ended with the fall of Valhalla.
