- Military History

Interlude, Battle of Kanan Fort

The first occurrence of Bio Zoids came down the river to Kanan Fort, where they waged a fierce battle. The city defenses held them off, but when the sacred Zoid of the capital, the Liger Red "Hiou" came charging ahead of its lagging reinforcements Masakuni knew he had to protect it. The Iron Kong departed the city and fought alongside Hiou in the field, keeping both Hiou and its pilot Seki safe until the reinforcements could catch up. Even so, the Iron Kong lacked Metal-Zi. While it could damage the Bio Zoids, it couldn't kill them. It could only hope that each strike immobilized them.

Interlude, Battle of the Capital

As soon as reinforcements arrived, countless Bio Zoids flew towards the capital. All along they'd waited for Hiou, the city's guardian deity to leave the city, and now it had. Though Seki tried to return, Masakuni and the Iron Kong restrained her Zoid, until she pleaded her case, claiming that Hiou was the only one who could protect the city. Reluctantly, the group decided to allow this. As they reached Nakato every Zoid had to take part in the fighting, carving a path to the sacred stage. The Iron Kong protected their rear, while Gishin and his Rez Wolf charged at the front. Though they succeeded in getting Hiou to the stage, where it was able to perform a ritual dance and purify (destroy) the Bio Zoids currently plaguing the city, Gishin suffered fatal injuries and many of their allies were lost in the fight.

Chapter 2, The Test

With orders to assess Midori's combat skill, the Iron Kong attacked her Liger Blue, Souga, and Ken's Hound Soldier. The battle went on for only a short time before Souga was able to pin down the hammer of the Zoid, giving the Hound Soldier time to get in close and disarm them. This battle gave Masakuni the knowledge he needed to determine Midori's fighting style, so that he could better craft a weapon to fit her unique methods.

Chapter 7 ~ 8, The Final Battle

Masakuni and his Iron Kong attended the final battle in the Tatara Highlands. As Zoids marched into the volcano, he witnessed Mother Bio's terrifying heat ray, which sent Souga and the other crew Zoids flying. Masakuni caught the Liger, preventing it from incurring any more damage, and remained to witness the Shining Beast and its legendary weapon.

- Notable Facts

  • Masakuni's Iron Kong seems to have all of its standard ammunition removed, including the missiles and such.

- Equipment Information

- Homusubi

Homusubi:

Homusubi is the massive hammer installed to the Kong's right arm, used in the smithing process. This is actually attached in place of the fist, which is able to be swapped out for a variety of other weapons, as well as seven different tools used in the blacksmithing process. Homusubi has been used in the crafting of every Metal-Zi weapon used in Nakato's ceremonies.

- Ishikoritome

Ishikoritome:

Ishikoritome is described as a face protector. It sits on top of the Iron Kong's head when not in use, then rotates forward whenever it's in the smithing process of making Metal-Zi weapons.
