Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
  • Unlisted
A small-scale mass-produced OS Zoid of the Helic Republic. It uses a limited Organoid System to ensure that it can be controlled by a wide variety of pilots, and while it focuses on all-rounder combat, it can jettison its weaponry when entering close range to improve its speed and agility.  [1]

- Military History

ZAC 2100, March, Southern Europa

Two Gun Snipers were air-lifted by a Storm Sworder to act as escorts for Arthur Borgmann and his Blade Liger during its initial test run to the Galil Ruins. When the Liger was attacked by the Empire's new mass-produced small-scale OS Zoid, the Storm Sworder dropped the Gun Snipers into the fray to help finish off the remaining Rev Raptors. Soon after the battle, they discovered the entrance to the Galil Ruins and followed the Blade Liger inside. It's not clarified what happened to them afterwards.

ZAC 2100, July, Pursuit of Retreating Enemies

Gun Snipers were among the Zoids attacked at Rob Base, and joined the pursuit units sent to run down retreating Guylos Empire Zoids after the failed attack. Gun Snipers and Gun Sniper WW took part in the fight against the northern retreat, but the battle was interrupted when the Empire's Death Stinger went out of control, destroying all Zoids involved aside from a single Lightning Saix. This included its own allies. The destroyed Zoids would later be used to build the Death Stinger's nest, which was discovered that October.

- Equipment Information

- 3D Sensor

3D Sensor: 3Dセンサー

The 3D Sensor refers to the structure on top of the cockpit. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information on how this equipment works.

- 8-Shot Missile Pod x2

8-Shot Missile Pod x2: 8連装ミサイルポッド×2

The 8-Shot Missile Pods are equipped to the back. The missiles are stored safely inside of the missile pod, which opens up from the back hinge joint. Between the two pods, it can create a barrage of up to 16 missiles. The back of the unit is a booster pod.

- All-Range Dual Sensor

All-Range Dual Sensor: オールレンジデュアルセンサー

The Dual Sensor is the double-barrelled object above the sniper rifle. When in use, it lifts upwards from the tail. The specific functionality of this item doesn't really get covered.

- AZ 80mm Beam Gun

AZ 80mm Beam Gun: AZ80mmビームガン

This Beam Gun is installed to the chest of the Gun Sniper. It's able to rotate left and right to a small extent, but its range of motion is limited by the arms.

- AZ 144mm Sniper Rifle

AZ 144mm Sniper Rifle: AZ144mmスナイパーライフル

Gun Sniper is one of the first true sniping Zoids, and this is perhaps its most famous weapon. The sniper rifle is capable of long-distance firing, and during use, the tail extends, the Dual Sensor lifts up, and the Anchor Claws sink into the ground to secure its firing stance.

- Beam Machine Gun x2

Beam Machine Gun x2: ビームマシンガン×2

Two beam machine guns attached to the forearms of the Gun Sniper. They fire automatic rounds, and due to the articulation of the arms, they can fire at a wide variety of angles.

- Bite Claws x2

Bite Claws x2: バイトクロー×2

The Gun Sniper is an all-rounder Zoid, and benefits from both close range and long range weapons. In this case, the Bite Claws refer to the articulated claws on the hand. Unfortunately, they don't seem to get used, so there's no saying how effective they are.

- Bite Fangs

Bite Fangs: バイトファング

Like any good raptor, Gun Sniper is able to rip and tear at enemies with its teeth. At close range, the Zoid is said to jettison all of its additional equipment to lighten its weight and increase its agility, relying on its natural weaponry instead.

- Booster

Booster: ブースター

Although not specifically listed in its stats, the back of the Gun Sniper's 8-Shot Missile Pods contain boosters. This allows the Zoid to rapidly accelerate towards its opponent.

- Ion Charger

Ion Charger イオンチャージャー

Gun Sniper's Ion Charger receives basically no media coverage. However, since it's a natural competitor of the Rev Raptor, which was being developed around the same time, you could possibly compare them. The Rev Raptor's Ion Charger is said to power up the Zoid Core.

- Multi-Blade Antenna x2

Multi-Blade Antenna x2: マルチブレードアンテナ×2

The white pieces on the Gun Sniper's head. Antennas are typically used for radio signal, and may allow wider distance communication. However, we don't see these put to use in the series, so we can't say for sure if this is their purpose.

- Strike Anchor Claw x2

Strike Anchor Claw x2: ストライクアンカークロー×2

Like the Rev Raptor, the Gun Sniper was based on a wild velociraptor type. However, instead of using its claws distinctly as weapons, it made them multi-purpose. The Anchor Claws can be used during sniper mode to lock the Gun Sniper down, keeping its scope steady while firing.
