Story Information
Pilots: Introduction:
The Gator is rather evolutionary among small-scale Zoids, being among the first mass production electronic warfare Zoids.  [1]

- Potential Wild Form

Although the Zoids Bible shows a wide variety of wild forms, it doesn't distinctly link them to specific Zoids. We do however see a red dimetrodon type Zoid with a face very similar to Gator. It's worth noting that when the Gator first mobilized, it was a Zenebas Zoid, colored red and silver instead of purple.

- Details of Design

Mass Production Platform

When the Gator was developed, the Empire took particular note of how easy it was to find the Gordos. The lumbering Zoid stood out in a landscape, so they chose to move on to a mass production model. Smaller in scale, but able to be produced in such large numbers that it more than made up for the lack of ability with sheer volume and distribution.

Since it lacked much fighting power, to the point that it'd lose against almost any other Zoid, it often traveled in smaller units, sneaking into enemy territory to gather information. This meant it also often encountered infantry units, who were unable to defend against it without the protection of Zoids.

- Military History

ZAC 2031, Rollout

The Gator rolled out to assist with information gathering, and often traveled into enemy territory alone or with a small unit. They became a terror to infantry units, who were often not escorted by Zoids.

ZAC 2099, Battle for Mount Olympus

Gators participating in the war recevied direct orders from HQ to attack the Republic's forces, which were deployed near Mount Olympus. Their goal was to destroy anything that interfered with the Death Saurer Revival Plan, but their actual battle wasn't featured in the story, so details are unknown.

- Equipment Information

- GPS Magnetic Detector

GPS Magnetic Detector: GPS磁気探知機

Gator's GPS Magnetic Detector is the back sail. During the design process they sacrificed its other capabilities, including its weaponry, to expand the detector as much as possible. Its radar functionality was further enhanced by the Guylos Empire after the fall of Zenebas, and it was mobilized once more. It's also used for Force Reconnaissance, with the Zoid mentioned to have jamming abilities. [2]

- Magnesser System

Magnesser System: マグネッサーシステム

Gator is equipped with a Magnesser System under its body. This allows the Zoid to glide across the surface of the ground at high speed, which is how it reaches its maximum speed of 200 kmh. However, this can only remain active for a limited time. The underside of the kit uses plastic bars to control the legs, so we don't see these pictured in the series. This equipment isn't listed in its stats, but is mentioned in Official Fan Book 1.

- Small-Calibre Gatling Beam Gun

Small-Calibre Gatling Beam Gun: 小口径ガトリングビーム砲

The Gator is severely lacking in anti-Zoid capabilities, so the Small-Calibre Gatling Beam Gun is usually used as an anti-personnel and anti-entrenchment weapon.

- Tail Cutter

Tail Cutter: テイルカッター

The Tail Cutter refers to the small blade on Gator's tail. Since the Zoid is barely featured we don't see much weapon use, so information about this weapon is lacking.
