- Character Introduction

Tommy Paris is a First Lieutenant in the Republic's 2nd Independent High-Speed Combat Battalion. He pilots a Command Wolf, and though we don't see a lot of his personal perspectives in the first Fan Book, his achievements in that book changed the course of the war. [1]

- Military History

ZAC 2099, September, Piloting the Command Wolf

Tommy was a part of the High-Speed Combat Force that invaded Mount Olympus, with the intention of either gaining control or destroying the ruins near the summit. He and his unit traveled over half way up the mount before being confronted by Stefan Skorzeny and his Saber Tiger. They were ordered to stand back while Halford confronted the Saber Tiger on his own. He was able to defeat the Zoid, and they eventually reached the summit, at the cost of more than half of their unit.

ZAC 2009, October, Piloting the Command Wolf

Near the summit of Mount Olympus, the Command Wolves identified a monstrous Zoid being hooked up to the ancient ruins. It was the Death Saurer. Tommy's Command Wolf, which had been eager to fight up until this point, only stood there and whined. His Zoid could sense that this beast was something else entirely, and it was afraid.

His unit confronted the Death Saurer. They were determined to destroy its exposed Zoid Core before the resurrection process could be completed. However, it slaughtered almost every other Command Wolf in the unit. Even Tommy's own wolf was severely damaged. [3]

ZAC 2099, November, Piloting the Command Wolf

In the end, it was L.G. Halford's Shield Liger that finally destroyed the Death Saurer's Zoid Core. However, the molecular breakdown of the Death Saurer threatened to destroy the entire summit, and kill any survivors. Miraculously, Tommy's fallen Command Wolf was spotted by one of the reconnaissence Double Sworders, which had circled back around to look for survivors. It was able to hook cables up to his Command Wolf's head, and they extracted both Tommy and the Command Wolf's analytical data before the explosion occurred.

As Tommy looked down from his Command Wolf at his retreating allies, he realized that he still had so many companions that would fight at his side, and the significant loss became a little easier to bare.

- Chaotic Century Manga

Tommy also appeared in the CC manga, as a Lieutenant piloting a Dibison named Gungho. He was first seen patrolling Mule, and got along well with Van. He was even the one to first tell him about Mule's giant Zoid.

Two weeks prior, the Empire had demanded half of all of Mule's lucrative crops. They stated that because the water for the crops came from the Fullus River, which originated from Guylos territory, they were entitled to this. They were refused, and had begun harassing Mule by sending unmanned drone Redlers to fly over Republican airspace. They hoped that the Republic would destroy the Redlers, allowing them to claim self defense when they attacked Mule.

An Imperial agent snuck into the city and sabotaged Gungho's combat system, causing it to activate by itself and attack the Redler. Although Van wanted to destroy the Redler, which was bombing Tommy's Dibison, Tommy told him to step off. That he was prepared to die to prevent the city from going to war. He ignored the president's orders to abandon his beloved Zoid, and Van was ultimately able to use the Energy Shield to bring the Redler down without destroying it. Tommy and his Dibison survived the ordeal, but were injured by the bombing runs of the defensive Redler. [2]

- Pilot Record Entries

ZAC 2099, September
Such speed. I can't hit him. Not with a single one of my shots. Is he a demon? Did all the Imperial slowpokes I've fought up till now feel this wretched?

(From the flight recorder of First Lieutenant Tommy Paris, Command Wolf pilot in the Republic 2nd Independent High-Speed Combat Battalion)

ZAC 2099, October
At that moment, my Wolf lost his nerve. No matter how big a force we were up against, and even when we fought that Saber, it just psyched him up, but now he was whining like this. That's how I knew. This was a monster.

(From the testimony of First Lieutenant Tommy Paris of the Republic 2nd Independent High-Speed Combat Battalion)

- Zoids

- Command Wolf

A Command Wolf from the High-Speed Force in OFB1.
Tommy's first mentioned Zoid is a standard Command Wolf, which served in the Republic's High-Speed Combat Force. His Zoid is mentioned to have been fairly eager to fight. Both against the Empire's units as they were closing in on the Republic, and against Stefan Skorzeny's Saber Tiger. However, when confronted with the Death Saurer, his Command Wolf's whimpering was the first thing to tip Tommy off to the fact that they were dealing with something much, much more terrifying. It was an interesting interjection of the Zoid's behavior affecting the pilot's awareness of their current situation.

Though the body of his Command Wolf was presumeably destroyed during the destruction of Mount Olympus' summit, the head was rescued, and with it the analytical data of the ancient ruins. This technology contributed to the development of future Republican Organoids, such as the Blade Liger.

- Dibison

Tommy's Dibison confronting the (at the time unknown) Blade Liger.
In the manga, Tommy piloted a Dibison which was named Gungho. He shared this Zoid with Rob Hermann, the president's son, who he said far surpassed his own piloting abilities and could even fight on par with the agile Saber Tiger. He cared a great deal for this Zoid, and felt immense guilt over not being able to tell that the Zoid had been tampered with.

When Gungho attacked the drone Redler, its combat system activating automatically as result of the sabotage, Tommy was ordered to leave the Zoid. He refused, stating he could never show his face to Rob again if he simply ran away and let Gungho be murdered. His Zoid was saved by Van's Blade Liger, which protected it from some of the bombs using the Energy Shield.
