- History

Beginning of the Joint Project, Episode 60

Back in the day Windeen Lake was simply a lake, but was later converted into a top secret military facility. This was likely due to the discovery of the Ultra Saurus, which they began developing and working on 10 years prior. At the same time that the Guardian Force was established, the project at Windeen Lake began as a joint effort (led by Col. Krueger) between the Empire and the Republic. They intended to use the project if they ever needed to fight a common enemy.

Withdraw From New Helic City, Episode 59 ~ 60

When it was clear that New Helic City would fall, and once evacuations were complete, President Camford ordered all troops to withdraw to Windeen Lake. The lake had already been drained, and at its center was the dormant Ultra Saurus. They knew how to start it up, but had never actually done so, making the process all theoretical. Even still, it would take two hours. The Death Stinger, approaching from New Helic City, was expected to take three hours to arrive.

This estimate was flipped upside down when the Death Stinger began firing through the mountains, creating a tunnel that'd significantly reduce its travel time. While the military rushed to jump start the 7th power block needed to awaken the Ultra Saurus, Schwarz, Bang, and Irvine started to fight off the Helcats that'd been sent by Hiltz. Eventually, Schwarz was asked by Bang to retreat, leaving the battle up to just him and Irvine. Just as the Death Stinger fired its final particle cannon shot at the Ultra Saurus, it awoke and dodged the beam, escaping into the sea. The blast that otherwise would've wiped out Bang and Irvine, and had destroyed the Helcats, narrowly missed them thanks to Rosso and Viola air lifting them out of the battle.
