- Wartburg Town

- Introduction

Wartburg is a town mentioned briefly in the Zoids anime. It struggled immensely with a nearby bandit group, who stole everything from food to medicine, stockpiling it in their own hangout. This had lead to rapid inflation (with a piece of fruit being listed as 70 gallos, 10x the average price), which in turn lead to an overzealous security force.

Mistaken As Bandits, Episode 28

Irvine and Moonbay were mistaken as bandits when they entered the town, which Moonbay was quick to blame on Irvine's sketchier appearance. Nevertheless, they had to flee. Even though they hadn't actually committed any crime yet, the rampant raids from nearby bandits had made the security force extremely overzealous. They were firing on them with no evidence of wrongdoings being committed, and actually managed to land a shot on Irvine, piercing his leg. The two of them were forced to take refuge in the Wartburg Abbey.

Medicine Run, Episode 28

After Irvine and Moonbay took refuge in Wartburg Abbey they were confronted by Elina, wielding a rifle and also convinced that they were bandits. Bang, who'd already been there, revealed that they were friends of his. When they heard that the children in the abbey were sick with a disease that was likely to kill them, as the vaccine had been stolen by the bandits, Irvine offered to get the medicine back for them free of charge. After all, the rampant inflation was undoubtedly contributing to poverty in Wartburg. The part he left out was that his own sister had died to the same illness. In spite of his severe leg injury he and Bang were successful in getting the medicine back from the local bandits, saving the children of the abbey.
