- Organoid System
The Organoid System has appeared in a couple different iterations throughout the series, and the two representations are not interchangeable with one another. In this article we'll be covering the Organoid System from the Battle Story. If you're interested in learning about the New Century /ZERO interpretation of this unique system, please read our

- Effects of the Organoid System
The Organoid System causes unusual activity in the Zoid Core, increasing the Zoid's fighting strength and agility, while also amplifying their aggression. This achieved amazing results. For example, Gojulas the Ogre is said to have the strength of ten Gojulas, and swarms of Rev Raptors, in spite of being small-scale Zoids, could overwhelm a Gojulas. In the case of the Ogre, it was noted that the integrated Organoid System was able to instantly heal a shot that had penetrated the armor.
Severe Wear On The Pilot:
A swarm of Rev Raptors destroy a Gojulas.

One serious drawback of the system, however, is that it causes the Zoids' fighting instincts to flow back through the system and into the pilot. At first, this causes a fierce change in personality. The pilot feels the same negative effects of the Organoid System that their Zoid does. Aggression, and a nearly uncontrollable impulse to destroy. During early development, only one in ten test pilots could even handle the system due to the mental damage it caused.
When the Death Stinger went berserk on the battlefield during its initial launch, surrounding soldiers heard a horrifying scream from its pilot, who then stopped answering all communications. It is heavily implied that the mental link overwhelmed and possibly even killed its pilot, which put into perspective how hard it could be on other pilots. Even incomplete OS Zoids, such as Ritz Runstedt's Geno Saurer caused violent thoughts in the pilot immediately upon boarding.
If their link was strong enough, it would cause the pilot to feel what the Zoid felt, with a sensation of pain that matched their Zoids' injuries. True synchronization resulted in amazing power, far beyond what the Zoid should be able to accomplish based on research data alone, but it usually came at a cost. The degree of that cost could be mitigated by limiting the OS.
Pilots With Weaker Links:
On the other hand, Arthur observed that OS Zoids were difficult to pilot, because pilots had a hard time synchronizing with their level of fighting instincts. If you couldn't synchronize with the system, you had to parry it. Break your mental connection and compensate for the difficulties independently. This was no easy task, and it wasn't uncommon for the pilots to remain out for extended periods of time because they had difficulty controlling their Zoids.
Zoid Interactions:
It seems that OS Zoids can recognize one another: The Geno Saurer instinctively recognizes the Blade Liger as having an OS, and both the Blade Liger and the Breaker immediately understand what the Death Stinger is.

While there are a number of powerful Organoids, very few have completed Organoid Systems. The
true Organoid is said to be the Death Stinger, though it is unclear how this technology was distributed among the ancient super-civilization's ruins. In the case of the Death Stinger, it was a core found in a cultivation capsule in the Galil Ruins, in southern Europa, whereas the incomplete OS systems were based on data analyzed from the ruins atop Mount Olympus, in an entirely different part of the continent.
The True Organoid struck fear into the hearts of the incomplete units, the Blade Liger AB and Geno Breaker. They feared the ferocious fighting instincts of the Zoid. It also possessed the ability to self-replicate, and had produced numerous juvenile Death Stingers. Within the span of 2 months, it had produced dozens of offspring. Arthur thought that if they did not destroy it there, that its offspring would overrun and destroy all of Planet Zi.
When confronted by the severe threats, the Death Stinger was also able to integrate equipment from the destroyed Zoids and use them as a means to further self-evolve, taking on a new form.
- Zoids With Organoid Systems
All of the below Zoids have an Organoid System in some capacity. Some limited, some limited more, and some not limited at all. Please note that the Berserk Führer and Liger Zero are not included as in the battle story, their unique abilities came from being based on wild Zoids. They did not possess an Organoid System.

- History of the Organoid System
ZAC 2099, The Death Saurer Revival Plan
Shortly after their acquisition of Mount Olympus during the Western Continent War, the Guylos Empire moved into the ancient ruins that rested at its summit. Here they attempted to make use of the ancient civilization's super-technology to revive the Death Saurer, a monstrous machine of the old Empire. Later reflections on this event noted that the Organoid System was part of what was used to revive the beast. [2]

In January, the Guylos Empire decided to employ the Organoid System in an actual Zoid. They installed it to their new test Zoid, the Geno Saurer, and pitted it against another division of the Empire's Development Team, which used refurbished Zoids, the Saber Tiger AT and Red Horn GC. They wanted to see which was superior, the refurbished Zoids or newly developed ones. The Geno Saurer tore the test Zoids apart with extreme ease, and its mass production was ordered immediately.
At this point, their analysis of the system was still incomplete, so they decided to dispatch the Geno Saurer to Southern Europa, to try and recover more data on the system from the ancient ruins there.
A cultivation capsule was found within the Galil Ruins, suspected to be the missing piece that both armies needed to perfect the Organoid System. Ritz Runstedt secured this core for the Empire.

The Empire finished basic development for the Death Stinger, the "True Organoid", which had been cultivated from the Zoid Core brought back from the Galil Ruins. However, due to the emergency situation in the North, the Death Stinger was rolled out with the Special Forces unit before it could receive proper testing.
During the course of the battle, the Death Stinger was struck by a bullet from the Shield Liger DCS, and went berserk. It destroyed almost every Zoid in the battle, friend or foe, then disappeared for two months. Afterwards, it was discovered by Arthur Borgmann and Ritz Runstedt, where it was cultivating a nest of dozens of juvenile Death Stingers. The Empire's test machine for the True Organoid was killed by the two pilots.
- Notes
1. All information, unless stated otherwise, is from Zoids Official Fan Book 1 and 2.
2. Official Fan Book 2 Geno Saurer profile.
3. Official Fan Book 2, Chapter 6. After being able to immediately defeat the mass production-type Blade Liger, Ritz theorized that the unit had a modified OS, which could explain part of why it was so easy for the Geno Breaker to kill. The other part comes down to piloting skill. So not confirmed outright, but heavily implied enough to get a mention here.
