What was intended to be a meeting between the heads of both nations turned into a terrifying political disaster when President Camford of the Republic was kidnapped by Hiltz. She was tied up and placed in a Dibison that was under the control of Hiltz's Organoid, Ambient. Leading a unit of 10 Gun Snipers he moved towards the Imperial Council Hall, where Rudolph and the others were awaiting the summit meeting. The Republic had no information on the registration of the Gun Snipers, and the Empire knew from the registration of the Dibison that it belonged to Thoma Schwarz. Though they'd discovered that the Presidential Hammer Head had shot down its own escort they were unable to determine why, or where the Hammer Head was located. They were also unable to raise the approaching unit on the radio, putting them in a challenging position. As soon as they were within range, the unit attacked.
With President Camford in the Dibison the Empire couldn't easily counter attack without risking killing the leader of the Helic Republic. Though Homalev ordered that they return fire, the Organoid-led unit was quickly burning through their defenses. The building itself was also starting to collapse as a result of the damage. The day was saved by Irvine, piloting the newly-developed Lightning Saix that'd been mobilized from the nearest base. He took out the Gun Sniper unit on his own. Ambient, realizing the battle was over, tried to drive the Dibison over a cliff with the intent of killing President Camford anyway. The Saix's incredible speed allowed it to get ahead of them and shoot out the leg of the Dibison, disabling it without causing harm to the president and forcing the Organoid to retreat.
