When Rease took over the Holciard Weapons Plant the entire base went silent, but not before someone was able to send out a distress signal. Soon after the signal went out, the reactor of the base also started to overheat. The Empire tried multiple times to raise the base, only for those attempts to go unanswered.
Finally Col. Schwarz was dispatched to investigate. He was invited into the base by Captain Tsubaki, who insisted that it must be a mistake, blaming a possible malfunction while they were disassembling the snow generation jamming device. Once they reached a lower floor and exited the elevator, Col. Schwarz and his men were held at gunpoint. Tsubaki revealed that they'd been chosen to carry out nothing less than the total rebirth of the world.
This was where the true situation at the Holciard Weapons Plant became known. The base and its inhabitants had been taken control of by Rease and her Organoid's mind-control abilities, and Schwarz's entire unit would follow. With them also unable to lend aid, the reactor continued to overheat. The valves for the cooling system had been closed, and if it overloaded, it would set off 200 megatons of explosives stored in the facility. The better part of both territories in that region would be destroyed in the resulting explosion, and so the Guardian Force was dispatched to see to the emergency.
Outside surveillance revealed little. They confirmed that Schwarz's unit had arrived, but could see no activity in the base. Col. Schwarz's younger brother, Thoma Schwarz chose to head for the reactor through a route that'd allow Zoids, while Bang Freiheit and his Organoid Sieg took a smaller cave route that was only large enough for people. Along the way, Thoma was confronted by Karl. Under Rease's control, he and his newly-upgraded Iron Kong attacked the Dibison. Bang on the other hand faced Captain Tsubaki, who he defeated with ease.
The reactor was growing more critical. Thoma Schwarz's AI combat system, BEEK, was disabled in the course of the battle before it could execute a careful maneuver to disable the Iron Kong without destroying it. Col. Schwarz awoke from Rease's control after Fine, having been kidnapped by Rease and Specular, tore the cable connected to Specular's psycho wave amplification device. Even so, he couldn't regain control of his Zoid. To everyone's relief, Thoma was able to deliver the disabling attack on his own, without the aid of his machine's advanced abilities.
Bang Freiheit on the other hand headed for Rease, intent on rescuing Fine. He sent Sieg to open the valves of the reactor, which he was able to do now that all parties were distracted. Once confronted, Rease retreated from the base, and the terrible disaster was averted.
