- Introduction

 The 1st Armored Division is a large Guylos Empire force featured in the Zoids anime. Led by Karl Lichten Schwarz, this unit is regularly depicted fighting in some of the Empire's most important battles.

  • The 1st Armored Division may or may not be the same as the 1st Panzer Division addressed in Episode 41, which was also led by Schwarz.
    •  
  • The 1st Armored Division may have more generic Zoids like Iron Kongs, Molgas, and Red Horns, but it's unclear which of the Zoids they're depicted fighting alongside are the generic Guylos army and which ones belong to this division specifically, so I've erred towards including only those shown being personally led by Karl Schwarz or partnered with the black and red tigers, which are specifically the 1st Armored Division specifications.

Mind Control, Episode 41

If we consider the 1st Armored Division to be the same 1st Panzer Division here, this unit was also dispatched to investigate the Holciard Weapons Plant, which had sent out a distress signal shortly before going silent. While invited into the base and told, at first, that this must be a misunderstanding or malfunction, the group was taken control of by Rease and Specular. Schwarz was the only one who was made to fight, while the others simply remained catatonic for the time being.


Raven, Episode 47

After Raven's post-arrest transfer to another facility had begun, Karl and the 1st Armored Division rolled out to fight the Geno Breaker. They joined countless others, including the Republican Army in launching an all-out bombardment. This failed to destroy the Breaker. Karl pursued the fleeing Zoid, arriving just in time to draw its attention away from Bang. Unfortunately, this meant that the particle beam destined for the Blade Liger was instead redirected towards his unit, taking out every Saber Tiger but his own. He could only watch as the Geno Breaker took to the skies and fled.


Defense of New Helic City, Episode 59

Karl lead the 1st Armored Division in defending New Helic City. He fought alongside Hermann, directly confronting Hiltz and his Death Stinger. As per Hermann's plan, he fell in behind the Shield Liger. Once its energy shield disabled the Death Stinger's, Karl leapt over the Liger, right towards the head of the Death Stinger. He was caught mid-air by the sea-scorpion's giant claws. He didn't waste a second, unloading as many shots from the gatling as he could, but was simply thrown aside. Thankfully, he'd delayed just long enough for the defense forces to arrive. With their sacrifice, the rest of the citizens were able to evacuate.


Defense of the Ultra Saurus, Episode 60

When Karl started firing on the Helcats attacking the Ultra Saurus from the upper decks he was accompanied by Dark Horns, likely from the 1st Armored Division, though not confirmed outright to be.


Battle of the Death Saurer, Episode 67

The 1st Armored Division would join the massive battle against the Death Saurer, with Guylos providing its full military support in hopes of defeating the beast. Though they lined up to unleash countless bullets on the Zoid the Death Saurer's armor was too durable. It simply walked right past them as if they were nothing. Many were then wiped out when it began firing its particle cannon through the gravity lens.
