- EZ-065 Dimetrodon

Dimetrodon is a, well, dimetrodon type Zoid, and while it's not our first of the type, it has nice motorized features, and some old, classic gun designs from the Empire.

- Fuselage Explanation

Dimetrodon, an Imperial Army Zoid, was called the strongest electronic weapon during the former Central Continent War, which occurred more than 50 years ago. As of ZAC 2106, it was equipped with state-of-the-art electronic equipment and put into actual combat once more, in order to discover the remaining Helic Republic troops that were lurking in various locations around the Central Continent. Its main task was to use the all-weather 3D Radar in its back fins to quickly discover enemy units and inform its allies. At the same time, it automatically analyzes and jams radio waves transmitted by its enemies. Dimetrodon's poor armaments and fighting ability makes it highly dangerous to engage in direct combat with enemies of the same class, but in the grand scheme of things, it's the main hero Zoid, leading its allies to great victory from the shadows.

- Zoids Official Fan Book EX Vol. 2

Official Fan Book EX is a series of small pamphlets/booklets released with the end of the NJR kits, detailing the battle story at that point. The issues contain beautiful pencil artwork, model kit images, and more! Since they can be rather long, we've moved them to a separate page. Click the image to the left to read!

This issue follows Empire pilot Capri Conrad through his desperate battle in Ardannes on the Central Continent. His Zoid, the Dimetrodon, is being tracked by one of the Republic's most ferocious battle machine beasts, Liger Zero. Ill equipped to handle this fight, he must figure out how to lose the Liger in the forest, or confront it head on.

This is, at least in my opinion, one of the best well written little story snippets in the Zoids franchise. It is rare that the Liger Zero is painted in such a dark light, and the atmosphere of the story has a good spooky vibe to it.
