History

First Appearance, Episode 31

The Three Guards were approached at their retirement home by Ralph and Mueller of the Eisenbeck Unit. They asked them to help in the hunt for an imposter of the (supposedly-deceased) former prince. Not knowing that this was no imposter, but the real deal, they accepted. Even so, they were apprehensive. They agreed on the terms that they could fight the rebel Zoids on their own, one on one, to which Ralph agreed.

They challenged Bang's group to fight in the Valley of Heroes, where historical battles took place to prove the very best Zoid pilots. After BP and Grosskopf were defeated, Wagner took up the battle against Bang's Blade Liger. However, Ralph and Mueller went back on their word and tried to destroy the weakened Blade Liger, only to be shot down by Wagner, who was offended by their disrespect towards the sanctity of these one on one battles.

With the imperial pilots out of the way Wagner threw off his Tiger's weapons. He wanted to fight Bang with nothing but his claws and teeth, honoring the traditions of the battles that used to grace the valley of heroes long ago. They fought fiercely, but when Bang was just about to be defeated, Rudolph called out. Wagner froze, realizing that the crowned prince was really still alive. Bang took advantage of the distraction and knocked his Saber back, taking out its teeth. Though Wagner fully expected to be finished off, Bang was enthusiastic about the fight, and already looking forward to more like it. Wagner himself basked in the glory of the crowd that'd gathered along the edge of the valley, cheering on the battle.
