- New Partner Vs. Naomi: The Red Comet!


 The Blitz Team is still working out how to approach their losing streak. Unfortunately the next battle is against the highly regarded Naomi Fluegel! A mercenary who has never lost a battle. She's now taking part in team competitions, and threatens to further damage their record.

 To the surprise of everyone the Pteras is taken out of commission! Liger Zero is forced onto the battle field to prove its value to the team!

- Notable Facts

  • The Liger Zero is equipped with Ion Boosters, which are assisted by anti-lift stabilizers on the sides and rear legs, which create a downward thrust to transfer 100% of the Liger's kicking power to the ground. This allows it to exceed speeds of over 300 km/h. The dub lists a speed of "200 mph", which is 321 km/h, considerably faster than the 307 maximum speed of the Liger Zero. The Japanese version mentions over 300 km/h, which matches the box speeds. So, it can be assumed that the dub changed the number to make it quick and simple to understand for kids in the US.

  • Naomi is said to be the undefeated champion in one on one battles, with no one able to get within 1,000 feet of her Gun Sniper.

  • In the original Japanese version, Battle Mode 0998 forbid the use of long range weapons, with the exception of 6 shots per pilot. The dub modified this ruling to be "Limited to long ranged weapons, and six shots each." This is a rather significant change as it means the Liger Zero should have technically been disqualified for defeating Naomi with the Strike Laser Claw.

  • In the Japanese version, the battle is within a 5 kilometer radius, while in the English version, it is a 3 mile radius.
