- Episode 35: The Secret Mission

    It has been at least a year since the Death Saurer caused mass destruction to Guygalos. In the end it was Van Flyheight that defeated the behemoth, but with the war over he took his leave.



    Today he's found fighting Command Wolves and Pteras in Zoid simulations. His superior piloting skill with the Blade Liger permitted him to pass a simulation that, formerly, no other pilot had managed to defeat. It was at this time that Kernel Krueger decided to tell him he'd be retiring from the army. He had taught Van all he needed to know in the past months, and there was nothing left to give.

    With no reason to stay in the army, Van left to visit his home town. Along the way he ran into Fiona and Dr. D, whose transporter had been hit by an unseen enemey. Both would be fine, but they'd barely had time to recover when a scream from his sister Maria sent him running to her aid. Before Maria towered a crimson Organoid, threatening to cause harm to her. If it weren't for Zeke, he would have succeeded to hurt both her and Van. Just before their fight would break out, though, a whistle summoned the crimson Organoid away.

    Nearly the same instant the Wind Colony was attacked by a Stealth Viper. Van responded quickly with the Blade Liger, but this Zoid was proving to be an efficient fighter. With the aid of smoke dischargers it was able to hide from the Blade Liger, up until the thermal fins of the feline were used to throw off its heat seeking and finally defeat it.

    Comments: The dub includes a cut version of this scene. It doesn't show him actually falling off the cliff, or really implies that it happens. I included the full version because ... Well because Ambient has a really cool growl.
