- Episode 5: The Boy Named Matt


    RD loses his pilot license when he compromises the team in battle. When he later meets a young kid named Matt, he decides to take him under his wing and teach him the ropes! Even going so far as to let him pilot Mach Storm's Leoblaze. However, when he learns of a corrupt landlord's attempt to drive Matt from his home, he feels obligated to step in and help. With the assistance of the PKB, RD heads to Matt's neighborhood to confront Savage Hammer, responsible for the damage.

- Notable Facts

  • Lilian's Zi-Fighter Hot List is a TV segment. In the English version, she's named Chiara (after her voice actress) instead, and the frame is zoomed in to cut out the sign that has her name on it.

  • Matt learned to cook from his mother. After she died, his dad took care of him, but was forced to work at a big construction site out of town. The refinery he had formerly worked at closed down. Because of all this, he was usually away, and Matt was often left to take care of himself. His father would send him money every week so that he wouldn't lose the house.

  • The old woman who comes to talk to Matt is called Ms. Applebee in the dub. In the Japanese version, she has no name, and is only referred to as Obaasan, a title used to refer to older women. She decides to move out after hearing that they planned to tear down the apartment building, and was the last tenant besides Matt still living there.
