- Episode 11: Brutal Battle Royale!


    When one of the Zi-Fighters in a four-man battle royale drops out, the station comes to Mach Storm, asking RD to participate as the final warrior. There's some underhanded schemes going on in this battle, however, and RD is fighting blind of the plot being carried out by the other three fighters.

- Notable Facts

  • The Zi-Fighter who backed out of the Battle Royale did so because he didn't want to be on TV.

  • Mark calls Lilian Li-Li chan in the Japanese version. In Episode 5, the English version changed her name from Lilian to Chiara. It seems they missed that this is the same talk host girl, because in this episode, the English dub changes her name again, instead calling her Tracy Thompson.

  • The other three Zi-Fighters are introduced as Rotten Roger and his Geno Saurer the Archangel of Destruction, Gilbert the Impaler and his Red Horn, and Sarah Slam and her Raynos. They are instructed by Rastani to gang up on RD. He wants the Liger Zero Phoenix to be destroyed.

  • It's heavily implied that Lilian has a crush on RD outside of being overly enthusiastic for the sake of her TV personality.

  • Rastani's Blade Liger has a lot of animation confusion in this battle. It loses its blade, but less than a minute later it reappears. There's also a few scenes where it looks like it's missing the face fins, which is odd because it didn't take any hits. They're actually pushed entirely inside of the head, and are sticking out the back instead.

  • Tracy offered Hop the chance to be a TV Producer.

  • RD gave Sweet the heart-shaped case she carries on her side as a birthday gift when they were kids.

  • The anime-iteration of Liger Zero Phoenix is equipped with a rainbow-colored body-tight E-Shield.

  • When RD wins the fight, he uses his prize, a free dinner at an expensive restaraunt called TABOC, to take Sweet and the rest of the team out for her birthday.
