- Episode 10: Visitor From The Past!


    An old member of Mach Storm has escaped from prison, and returns to settle a score with Maskman. The new team is rather oblivious to the details of their past, and only Sigma is able to fill them in on it, prompting the team to band together to support their friend.

- Notable Facts

  • Marvis was in prison for 3 years before breaking out of the Brown City Municipal Jail. He was there for hunting down a member of the Peace Keeping Bureau with a stolen Shadow Fox and killing the pilot. It was the biggest manhunt in the Bureau's history. Maskman's Command Wolf was the only Zoid that could track it, and he won the confrontation that put Marvis in jail.

  • Maskman is shown to visit the grave of the man killed. It's where he first runs into Marvis after his jail break.

  • Zazie's name was mentioned in the Zoids Encyclopedia, but not in the episode itself. His name is Surge in the English dub. He shows skill in remotely controlling Zoids with his laptop as well as Zoid maintenance and diagnostic.

  • The Artisan's plains is only given this name in the English version.

  • Marvis and Maskman used to be best friends, and always trained as equals, but Marvis had always been jealous of Maskman.

  • Marvis was formerly a member of Mach Storm. After Marvis lost a fight by a significant margin, he swore he was gonna take down Maskman no matter what.

  • As a rookie pilot, Sigma admired Marvis' aggressive fighting style. Marvis also invested in Sigma's training as a pilot, showing him the ropes and being the first to congratulate him every time he won a battle. To Sigma, he was like a father figure during his first few months on the team. One day he just disappeared, and didn't show up again until his rampage.

  • In the English version, Sigma mentions that "he" is in sniper mode, but the Japanese version correctly mentions the presence of Gun Snipers. This makes the introduction of a bunch of missiles a little unusual in English, where they're not mentioned or sniping.

  • Marvis' Shadow Fox has an E-shield.

  • Marvis claimed to have only joined Mach Storm to gain information and become a better Zi Fighter. He insisted he was never their friend, even though this feels fiercely contradictory to his past actions (befriending Sigma so closely, showing support, etc.). None of which were necessary for someone to be accepted and not look suspicious among the team.
