- Shield Liger (Default Blue)

Shield Liger is a Zoid of the Republican Army. Unlike most others, the Shield Liger is rarely seen outside of military use, with only a few abandoned when the war ended. At the beginning of the series, it is boasted to be the fastest Zoid of the Republic. It would appear that there are two default schemes, a blue and a white. I would wager that the blue was an old Republican scheme, as after some time it was almost completely retired from the army. The only one notably used belongs to Rob Herman.

Weapon Overview:
Laser Saber (Tooth) x2: This weapon refers to the fangs. The item is supposed to be used with an energy charge, but is never animated in such a way.	Strike Claw: The four silver paws of the Liger are usable as blunt weapons. Unlike the Blade Liger, the Shield Liger has no retractable claws.
Anti-Zoid 3 Barrel Shock Cannon: The three barreled weapon that is on the chest. It appears to fire heavy cannon shells.	Pop-Out Type Missile Pod x2: The Shield Liger has two arms on either side, that fold out to show the missiles. These both fire several rounds.
AMD Double Barreled 20mm Beam Cannon: A large two barreled laser on the end of the tail. This was used only by the Republican issue Zoids.	Anti-Zoid 30mm Double Barreled Beam Gun: This weapon is stationed on the back. It rests below the blue back armor, and when the armor flips up the gun and rotate out from beneath it, and around to fire at other ZOids.
Equipment Overview:
E-Shield Generator: A very high powered and technologically advanced armor. It establishes a pink energy shield around the Zoid that deters all damage. For the Shield Liger, the generators are in the top and bottom mane panels.

- Shield Liger (Default White)

The secondary issue of the Shield Liger is a stark white armor with a rich blue frame, and gold accents. As the series progresses the white Shield Liger becomes more and more dominant in the Republican Army, until finally there are very few, if any blue Shield Ligers shown at all.

- Shield Liger BS (Ban/Van Special)

Pilots: Van Flyheight, Fiona (Co-Pilot), Rob Herman (Co-Pilot)

     Many years before Van became his pilot the Shield Liger was a member of the Republican Army, but was left behind when the base was abandoned. As the series begins, the Shield Liger is brought back to life by the Organoid Zeke, and begins his journey as Van's partner Zoid. Later it is revealed that the Liger was abandoned 20 years before the series began.

    For the first part of the series, Van's Shield Liger is noted to be exceptionally weaker without Zeke. While it is mentioned that an Organoid can boost a Zoid's combat abilities by a considerable amount, the Zoid lacks strength even for basic Army standards. This is assumed to be because of the Zoid's age, and a weakened Core from living for years in the desert, damaged. Even with an Organoid's ability to repair damages, it is possible that the Core was simply unable to sustain the power that the Energy Shield and weaponry required of it, until many fusions with Zeke thereafter.

    It is also notable that the Shield Liger's missile systems have shown to come online and present the firing option automatically when an enemy is approaching. The Liger is known to have gold claws, instead of the standard issue silver, and lacks the silver gun on the tail.

    While the Shield Liger doesn't frequently act on its own, it has been seen following Van and the others without the fusion of Zeke. Even if it sat there like an idgit when they were being attacked.
