Barigator - Colored Version
Barigator is the stunning art statue that made me so determined to collect this series. The colors of the water around this figure is vibrant blue-green and the detailing is excellent. I can't help but adore the little Storch in the tree, as well. While 'scenic' Zoids like this aren't to scale, I'm so happy that they decided to abandone overly-stringent rules in favor of building an environment that really does feel natural. The Helcat leg in the water does an excellent job of highlighting that gators aren't to be underestimated!
Compared to other figures the Barigator is pretty sturdy. It all holds together well and I've been able to move it multiple times without ever having to worry about parts falling off. Like other figures with clear water parts, the water
is prone to yellowing, so be sure these are stored somewhere away from direct sunlight.
Dibison - Colored Version
Dibison is another stunning figure. Honestly, all but the Gojulas Giga in this set were just amazing to me. The Dibison looks fierce on the rib shaped bars in the backdrop and the rough stone that it stands on adds a nice balance. I've never been a huge fan of Dibisons but this was a pretty awe inspiring figure.
Like the Barigator it is very sturdy. Every now and then a piece of the base might come a little lose but I've had no problems with the Zoid itself, and assuming you just want to put this one up somewhere it's not going to give you much strife.
Saber Tiger - Colored Version
Saber Tiger, befittingly, has one of the most aggressive art statue poses. The Zoid is depicted ripping cables out of the chest of its fallen Command Wolf victim, which is scattered across the floor. Obviously this Zoid is already done for, but the Saber Tiger going so much further to 'devour' the competition is such a fun detail. It's also interesting that the eyes are blue instead of green.
One down side to the Saber Tiger in particular is that these soft rubbery PVC figs can warp over time, and the Saber having so many long thin parts makes this really noticeable. The ground I think I'd also prefer to be more earthy tones, as the red doesn't quite sell it to me when it's so similar to the Zoid's color. To be fair though, that's not the part you're gonna be focusing on. The dismembered leg that the tiger stands over is also a neat addition because, again, the Wolf is clearly downed already. They didn't need to add the extra detail, but they did, and I respect the hell out of it.
Shield Liger - Colored Version
This leaping Shield Liger is another excellent addition to the set. The liger is suspended in mid air by the pillar right next to it, which attaches on the back leg. The pose makes for an awesome dynamic statue, even if it's kind of hard to photograph because of how much the Liger is curling to the side. Out of all the sets I think this may be the more difficult one to find. It's certainly not impossible, but it is more uncommon than the rest of the color versions.
Shield Liger feels pretty wobbly compared to the others in this set. In spite of this though, he doesn't fall apart very easily. He should hold up just fine as long as he's not messed with much.
Shield Liger - Grayscale Version
Shield Liger is ironically one of the few gray scale versions in this set that I've managed to find. The colorless still looks quite cool, but I kind of miss the weathering present on some of the older ones. It looks a lot cheaper, but I get the impression that you're intended to paint your own version.
